A song primarily intended to disrespect people
POPULARITY
Kelly and Lizz are back from the Kentucky Derby with plenty of stories to tell, but first they're taking time to once again show love to a couple of their favorite snacks - Clean Simple Eats energy drinks and Built Puff bars. Aren't you glad we live in a time when they are available? But back to the big story, a trip to the Derby to check out the 2025 Ford Expedition. The trip started with a four-hour drive filled with games and no music... unless you could the diss tracks Kelly and Lizz wrote. Yes, you read that right, they wrote diss tracks for the Carnival vs. the Odyssey. Could this be what finally gets the Car Mom to go super viral? Once they got to Kentucky, the ladies were set up in some sweet digs with a lot of celebrities. Did they run into any of them? Well, they did make friends with a certain influencer during dinner... Before the big event, was The Oaks race where the ladies got to try their hand at horse track betting and quickly realized that betting against each other was just as fun. Then they finally got to get into the 2025 Expedition and learned that Ford can be brilliantly petty. What did they think? Kelly and Lizz will break it all down. After the Kentucky Derby, it was back to reality and cleaning out the fridge and pantry while getting ready for summer. But of course they can't end the podcast without talking about the ID Buzz recall. What does it mean for the future of the car? Today's episode is brought to you by Clean Simple Eats. Use code 'Carpool10' at checkout to get 10% off your order. CleanSimpleEats.com

Get ready for a jam-packed episode where we dive deep into the ridiculous, the infuriating, and the downright fascinating! This week, we're covering it all, from the bizarre energy of the Super Bowl to the petty world of legal filings and everything in between. Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell, and attorney Eric Bland — talk about the latest filing from Alex Murdaugh's twice-alleged co-conspirator Russell Laffitte as he seeks a jury pool that goes beyond the Lowcountry. Turns out the big doofus doesn't like being called a “doofus” … or a “cockroach.” At least not by Mandy and Liz. Russell's attorney Mark Moore finally got the opportunity to flex his petty muscle as he unloaded years of pent-up rage into what Eric says might be a $25,000 motion — once you account for all the time Team Doofus spent listening to Cup of Justice and True Sunlight podcast and scrolling through Mandy's, Liz's and Eric's social media. But the last laugh is — as always — on Team Doofus. There is no bigger compliment to pay than seeing your jokes about the Murdaugh villains appear in a federal court filing. Also on the show, the latest in JP Miller's frivolous lawsuit scheme. ☕ Cup's Up! ⚖️ Episode Resources Serena Williams' Instagram Post about Super Bowl Halftime Show “Taylor Swift ‘feels used' by Blake Lively, wishes actress didn't drag her into Justin Baldoni lawsuit” - Page Six, Feb 6, 2025 “Drake & Kendrick Lamar's Rocky Relationship Explained” - Billboard, Feb 10, 2025 Russell TV Episodes Mandy's Doofus Tweet - Nov 14, 2024 Liz's Cockroach Tweet - Aug 11, 2023 “Alleged Murdaugh accomplice Laffitte requests statewide jury selection or change of venue” - Greenville News, Feb 5, 2025 “Former Myrtle Beach lawyer Brunty pleads guilty to conspiracy charge” - The Island Packet, June 16, 2014 Beth Braden's FB Post about JP Miller's Magistrate Court Lawsuits - Jan 31, 2025 Premium Resources Russell Laffitte's Motion for District-Wide Jury Panel - Feb 3, 2025 Sam Rickman's Counterclaim - Jan 27, 2025 Stay Tuned, Stay Pesky and Stay in the Sunlight...☀️ Premium Members also get access to episode videos, case files, live trial coverage and exclusive live experiences with our hosts. Sarah is thriving and we're here for it! She even joined a special club of like-minded people, and it's kind of hilarious, but also awesome. We talk about the Ashley Madison dating site for married people seeking affairs and how the documentary showed the range of outcomes for people who were exposed in the data breach. The world's fattest monkey, Godzilla, died and we're giving him a proper send off (sans sugar). We discuss the Kevin Spacey scandal, and how the new film about it shows how harassment and assault has the same effect regardless of gender, and how his victims felt guilt and shame for thinking they asked for it. Sarah breaks down the Drake and Kendrick Lamar diss track feud, and why Drake is cancelled. Susie explains new research on near death experiences, and how our dream states and animals "playing dead" might unlock new information on what the brain is doing during this strange, yet not uncommon, phenomenon. Iran has strict laws about men and women in films and maintaining Islamic modesty, and the directors found a useful tool in purses, luggage, and bags to get around the limitations. Plus, we talk to writer Chelsea Devantez about her memoir, I Shouldn't Be Telling You This (But I'm Going to Anyway).Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodSponsors:Get 20% off your first order of Liquid I.V. when you go to https://www.liquid-iv.com and use code CANDY at checkout!Get 25% off your first month for a limited time at https://ritual.com/BRAINCANDYThis episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. Aubrey (yes that's his real name) Drake Graham is a Canadian rapper, singer and actor who has released such bangers as Take Care, Started From The Bottom, Hotline Bling and so on. More recently though, he has spent his time making diss tracks about Kendrick Lamar and we have some thoughts... On this weeks episode we discuss the NBA Playsoffs and how its been going so far. So far none of the teams we ar used to seeing are currently in the playoffs. This year we are seeing a lot of young teams who are hungry and really want that championship and it is making for great basketball. The reigning champs the Denver Nuggets are in the playoffs but the Timberwolves are giving them all they can give with KAT and Anthony Edwards and they are currently up 2-0 in this second round. Jalen Brunson and the NY Knicks are also putting in work and giving the Knicks the chance to make it all the way. Niokla Jokic has been named the 2024 MVP and it is causing quite the commotion. Shaq stated in post game interview with Jokic that he wanted SGA to win this year especially since Jokic has made it known that winning really isn't all that important to him. Jokic did not seem to be phased by what Shaq stated but Shannon Sharpe took to his show and basically said that Shaq was jealous and that is not a GOAT. As we all know Shaq is one of the greatest big men ever to play this game and he also is a rapper and he took to the booth to write a diss in response to Shannon Sharpe and it is quite hilarious. Do you think Shaq was wrong, or do you think Shannon was being sensitive and overstepping?
In this episode of the Brilliant Idiots, Nyla Simone joins Andrew Schultz and Charlamagne Tha God dive into the ongoing drama between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. They break down the diss tracks these two heavyweights dropped and take wild guesses about Drake's next chess move. Plus, they get into the nitty-gritty of street cred and how Instagram can make or break your rep. They can't help but notice the eerie silence from other artists when it comes to backing Drake in this showdown. They toss around ideas and speaking of hot topics, they tackle the sticky accusations thrown at Drake, like being labeled a creeper. They dissect Questlove's input and how the West Coast vibe adds spice to rap battles. And of course, they're not done until they dish out what they think Drake and Kendrick should do next. They discuss the latest drama involving DJ Vlad and Morgan Jerkins. And in a thoughtful twist, they round it all off with a chat about critical race theory and the importance of team harmony.
