I once again am rearranging my recording space/office/guest room in anticipation of a visit from my son. In doing this I came across a special memento I had set aside a few months back to share with you all. Since it popped out at me again I figured now would be good a time to share it. Dave was a high school friend. I attended my first rock concert with him and our group of friends. We had good times together. When he was tragically taken from this world I was hit hard by the loss. I was young and had not experienced death this closely yet. Dave lives on in my memories and photographs taken through our years as friends. Now that I have shared it, the memento will return to its place in my notebook of memories, but Dave's memory resides in my heart forever. It's been a journey. 100 episodes. In this milestone episode, it goes back to the beginning, with Gaby, the German paddler who was featured on Episode One of the WTIP Boundary Waters Podcast. Over the past 100 episodes, hosts Joe Friedrichs and Matthew Baxley have learned so much about the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Quetico Provincial Park. This learning has come, largely, through the stories shared by those who've appeared on the podcast. That learning continues in a deep way with Gaby's return to the podcast. Also featured in this episode is Rick Slatten, the captain of the St. Louis County Rescue Squad. Slatten also appeared on Episode 91 of the podcast, talking with Joe about a capsizing event from May 2023 where the podcast duo faced their most intense experience in the BWCA. Other voices familiar to podcast listeners appear in this episode, including Bear Paulsen, Kevin "The Kman" Kramer, Jana Berka, Aubrey Helmuth Miller, Erik Dickes, Dave Freeman, Shug the Hammock Camper, Josh and Kaylan Dix, Adam Mella, Jason Zabokrtsky, and Ian Tamblyn.

Welcome to the Backwoods Bowhunter Podcast. If you like bowhunting and backwoods humor, then you might have come to the right place. We do not take ourselves too seriously. Our style is for you to feel like you are sitting around the campfire with your buddies, tossin' back some cold beers, talking bowhunting and whatever else may come to mind. We keep it real, raw, and have some good ole fun.Episode 77:We recorded multiple episodes from the Hunting and Fishing Days outdoor show in Southern Illinois. This particular episode featured Jason Fritz and Camo the Clown. Camo, or Dave Freeman, is very active in getting kids involved in the great outdoors and doing a lot of great things! I attended a recent Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce event called Reinvent. Four CEO's were in panel format in a local theatre to discuss their leadership models through and after the pandemic. I was so impressed with each speaker. Jenny Fujita of Fujita & Miura Public Relations, Inc shared mostly on the modern home-based workforce and proper well-being of the individual. Mark Bergey of Bergey's Auto spoke on personal and leadership development during a supply chain shortage. Mark is a self-admitted podcast junkie, so I immediately connected with his message. I loved his passion for growing as a leader and the man runs a company with close to 1,500 employees! Craig Edsill of the Clemens Food Group has over 4,000 employees in multiple states. He taught me a wonderful crisis and leadership model they used during the pandemic - Discuss, Decide, Support. It's so simple. Take the time with your team to brainstorm, mastermind, and debate in the discuss phase. Make a decision as the leader and do not go back to the discuss phase. Go forward. Have everyone put aside their personal differences and support the decision to make it happen. I loved this! Finally, Dave Freeman of QNB Bank shared the status of available money in the banking system for lending. They are seeing a major decline in the need for money due to the stimulus cash in 2020/2021. This has hurt banks, but he was confident of the return to normal. Every speaker talked about being flexible in your leadership style as nothing is business as usual anymore. Somewhere in the middle of the panel discussion, Jenny Fujita dropped a MAJOR value bomb that I had to thank her for personally after the conference. I'll paraphrase."I've been working from home for 9 years. I'm a mom, wife, and I run a PR firm. I have to run errands during the day in each of my roles. Sometimes, I go the post office to drop off professional packages and sometimes I'm at the grocery store or the kid's school. I'm out and about. Regardless of my day's plan, I dress for success every day no matter what. Even though I work from home and many of the newbies show up on Zoom calls in pajamas from the waist down, I get ready for work as if I were going to the office. Do you know why? Because I am going to the office. So what if my office is downstairs. When I'm on Zoom calls, I can still see myself on camera and it gives me more personal dignity and self-confidence when I'm dressed up for work. Since I'm dressed up, I can go to any of my errands always looking professional. What if I'm at the post office and run into a friend or potential prospect? I want to present myself at all times at my best level because I never know who I'm going to meet."This was a punch in the gut as I get lazy on my work-at-home days. I am talking a big game about being a professional company, but often go to the store or post office in sweat pants or jogging shorts. I need to take this message more seriously. I am an ambassador for my business every where that I go. The way I look makes a difference. The way I smell makes a difference, so I better shower! The way I interact with others makes a difference. The way my vehicle looks makes a difference. Everything makes a difference. Here's the question that people think but don't ask. "If he takes this much care in his presentation when he's not cleaning, how good is his cleaning?"Read the rest of this article at the Smart Cleaning School website
This month's episode of the BASIS Agronomy Matters Podcast has been produced in collaboration with the Kellogg's Origins Project. This is a really exciting initiative which is looking at how the food supply chain can help support more sustainable farming practices through unique research projects. Our first speakers on this episode, Duncan Rawson and David Fitzgerald, explained what Origins project does, and why Kellogg's are so committed to sourcing products in a responsible and sustainable way. We were then joined by three speakers who had been directly involved in Origins projects throughout the UK. Firstly, we spoke to Dave Freeman from the agriculture team at Ricardo, who has been carrying out some research on a farm in Bedfordshire looking at how agriculture can move towards becoming a Net-zero industry. We were then joined by John Holland, Head of Farmland Ecology at the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust, who's project at Loddington in Leicestershire focussed on the role beneficial insects play within integrated pest management, and the habitats that are required to support them. Finally, we spoke to Clive Blacker, Head of Business Development within arable agriculture at the Map of Ag. The project Clive has been working on was looking at Nitrogen Use Efficiency in the UK, especially how monitoring and analysis can help improve this and what impact this would have on UK farms. Don't forget to listen to the end of the episode where our Professional Register Members can find out how to claim 1 CPD point.

Marriage the Gospel Way - Dave Freeman Ephesians 5:22ff. by Chapel Street Baptist Armidale
In this episode, we talk with Dave Freeman. He is half of the Freeman Explore team. The Freemans lived a year in Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in order to educate and spread awareness for the campaign to Save The Boundary Waters. The wilderness is a place where many go to disconnect with society, but technology was the key to connecting the Freemans to their purpose behind living a whole year in the BWCAW. We talk about the campaign to Save The Boundary Waters, what it all means, and how people can get involved. In addition to living a year in Minnesota’s BWCAW, they have been exploring wild places all over the world since 2001. Some places include the arctic, paddling to D.C., and kayaking from Seattle to Alaska. They have taken their expeditions and turned it into educational experiences sharing the wilderness through technology with K-8 students from all over the world. If you have a passion for the Boundary Waters, want to be informed on the campaign to Save the BWCAW, or are an educator looking for a unique experience for your students, this episode is for you! In today’s episode, I chat with rock-star TV meteorologist Dave Freeman who, after a successful forty-year television career, is choosing to retire and now “reset” his life. He shares how he’s dealt with the challenges he’s faced throughout the years, and how he is now embarking on a new adventure that will take him (and his wife, Tracy) over to the Middle East to answer a higher calling to serve people in a whole new way. I met Dave in the early 90’s when he and I both colleagues and worked at KSNW-TV in Wichita, Kansas. Before that, he worked as an on-air meteorologist in Ohio, before taking over as Chief Meteorologist at KSNW. The Wichita market, by the way, is known in news and weather circles as the “Super Bowl” of markets for severe weather. Dave was responsible for keeping people safe across seventy-seven counties and two time zones…. quite a feat! He was also on-air during the horrible May 4, 2007 Greensburg Kansas tornado that destroyed 95% of the town and killed 13 people. Take a listen and enjoy this time spent with Dave Freeman, one of the most beloved and accomplished TV meteorologists of our time.

Given the persistence of fossil fuels, it's tough to imagine how Ready KiloWatt and his gang can power an optimistic, realistic new era. And with ever-more gizmos guzzling juice, does energy efficiency have a prayer? YES! say former utility CEO and energy policy authority S. David Freeman and today's Earthworms guest, energy journalist Leah Y. Parks. They are co-authors of a great new book, All-Electric America - A Climate Solution and the Hopeful Future (2016, Solar Flare Press). This book is a terrific summary of clean energy options, clearly explaining solar to storage, economics to electric cars - backed by current examples from U.S. cities, businesses, utilities and points of techno-evolution. Dave Freeman remains optimistic after 7+ decades of energy work, as an architect of the US EPA during the Nixon era, as L.A.'s Deputy Mayor for Energy and Environment, and as CEO of utilities in Texas, California and New York. Leah Parks represents their research and writing partnership with clear enthusiasm for the many ways clean electrical technology is HERE, and how even utility evolution inertia is being overcome, in examples like Vermont's Green Mountain Power and Oregon's Pacific Power. Could America's clean energy future be plugged in and powering up right now? This Earthworms conversation says, energetically, YES! Music: Dark Matter, recorded live at KDHX by Mad Titans, March 2010 Thanks to Andy Coco, Earthworms live-wire engineer.

How did people live on the land 2,000 years ago, during the Iron Age? Helen Mark finds out when she visits Butser Ancient Farm near Petersfield in Hampshire, very much a living experiment in practical archaeology. Founded 42 years ago by Peter Reynolds, Helen hears that Butser still operates as a kind of laboratory that looks into how our ancestors lived. For example, Butser's thatched roundhouses are built according to the exact dimensions found at digs in the vicinity, along the wooded hills and valleys of the South Downs. Butser director Maureen Page shows Helen the sheep they keep, which are genetically close to those kept by Iron Age farmers. Experienced thatcher and roundhouse builder, Dave Freeman, demonstrates how to lay Norfolk reed as a roofing material. However, we hear the reed isn't from Norfolk or anywhere in the UK, but from Turkey. This is because our reeds simply aren't up to the job, affected by chemical runoff from the fields into our waterways. Meanwhile Butser's resident experimental archaeologist, Ryan Watts, shows Helen the canoe he successfully made last summer from a fallen oak, hollowing it out with fire, and finishing it off with bronze axes that they cast on site. Producer: Mark Smalley.

God calls us to stand firm in Christ. Yet, everyday we are confronted with opposition that seeks to shift us from Christ. What will it look like to keep standing firm in Christ? How will it be possible for us to keep standing firm? In these verses Paul provides the answer to these questions. The post Standing firm in Christ appeared first on The Bridge Church.
