See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
On 18 March 1992, white South Africans overwhelmingly backed a mandate for political reforms to end apartheid and create a power-sharing multi-racial government. It was a high-stakes referendum coming on the back of three by-elections where the ruling National Party had lost to the right wing Conservative party. In a speech after the polling victory, President FW de Klerk said: “Today we have closed the book on apartheid”. His communications adviser, David Steward speaks to Josephine McDermott.(Photo: President FW de Klerk with news of the referendum win. Credit: AP)
David Steward is New York City's premier supernatural detective, but once upon a time, he didn't even believe in magic or the undead. That all changed the day he witnessed a brutal murder by a force beyond mortal ken. This is Steward's first taste of the scary and strange. This is how David Steward gained the Sight.Tonight's story is the second and final part of “The Sight” by J.S. Hawthorne, who almost definitely still has her head firmly attached to her neck. A proud member of the Furry Historical Fiction Society, J.S.'s work was most recently in “In the Light of the Dawn,” available at fhfs.ink.Last time, David Steward, private eye, sought the help of his friend Theo, otherworldly thing, to help solve a brutal murder, and had an experience: a headless monster who knocked Steward unconscious as he tried to escape its clutches.Read for you by Rob MacWolf — werewolf hitchhiker.thevoice.dog | Apple podcasts | Spotify | Google PodcastsIf you have a story you think would be a good fit, you can check out the requirements, fill out the submission template and get in touch with us.https://thevoice.dog/episode/the-sight-by-j-s-hawthorne-part-2-of-2

It's all too easy for us to try to separate the elements of the Christian life. We go to church, maybe we read our Bibles, but we only apply that to our inner lives. We see pastors and ministry leaders working full time for God, but we don't see ourselves the same way. Most of us go about our day-to-day lives at our workplaces as though the truth of God's word doesn't affect that part of our lives. David Steward and Brandon Mann want to change that. As both followers of Christ and highly successful business people, their goal is to help others live on mission no matter what their job is. To continue our Business and Finance Series, David and Brandon sit down with Davey to share some of their story and how they help equip people to find their ministry in the marketplace. David Stewart says many people around the world share a similar view there’s a growing emerging new generation that has been ignored and forgotten or worse put on the scrap heap. It’s a critically powerful generation and wealthy too, and you guessed it, it’s the over-50s who are without doubt a critically important demographic. David Stewart certainly recognises that as does the host of this program Mature Preneurs Talk. Recognising the differing views in the wider marketplace, David Steward became a founding Partner of a significant group called AGEIST which recognises the over 50’s strong political, social and economic standing which makes them the most powerful generation to have ever lived. Despite brands and some media writing them off, many over 50s are creating a new life, new health with a vitality and passion, which also cannot be ignored. David Stewart at Ageist suggests all aspects of how later life is lived is changing and he is determined to convey positive messages and services. You can learn more about Ageist at their website with a ‘different address’ agei.st Throughout this Podcast David offers great insight, five positive suggestions and tips for those over 50’s looking to make changes for their own future, in fact they’re wise words everyone over 50. David will be doing a TED Talk in May, which is a great testament to his knowledge of this demographic being one himself, also his years as an award-wining photographer for major publications and brands. Society can no longer impose ‘their old negative views’ on this powerful positive and exciting demographic. It’s time to recognise ‘the sky for them is not the limit’ ... the limit is way beyond. Anything is possible!
