As an expert-entrepreneur, speaking on stages and doing interviews on podcasts can provide much needed visibility to new audiences. But when your topics get popular, you might find you are constantly bombarded with requests to speak at events, conferences, and online shows. While these opportunities can be a great way to build our brand and showcase our expertise, they can also be a drain on our time and resources. In this episode, I will explore how to evaluate speaking opportunities to ensure that they are a good fit for your business goals. As an expert-preneur, you know that your time is valuable and that every minute counts. With so many speaking opportunities out there, it can be tempting to say yes to every opportunity that comes your way. On episode 334 of Amplify Your Success Podcast, discover the key factors that expert-preneurs should consider when evaluating speaking – or any visibility opportunity. By the end of this episode, you'll have a better understanding of how to evaluate speaking opportunities wisely and make the most of your time as a busy expert-preneur. So, let's dive in! Join us in the Amplify Your Authority Facebook Group to unpack all 7 of the steps in my 7-Step Plan to Get Booked, Get Leads and Get 5 Figure Clients by Leveraging Other People's Audiences. Vik Raya, MD is a Cardiologist and serial entrepreneur who has built multiple seven-figure businesses since completing his training. The secret to successful entrepreneurship, he says, is simple: Eliminate “either/or” from your vocabulary and replace it with “and.” What makes Dr. Raya unique is that he rejects conformity in a manner totally at odds with the linearity of medical training, where we are trained to fulfill a role in a static hierarchy. In this episode, Dr. Raya discusses being a "businessman and doctor", "father and entrepreneur."Currently, Dr. Raya holds the positions of CEO and Founding Partner of Viking Capital Investments, LLC; Founder of Limitless MD; and the CEO and Founder of the Vitology Institute, a functional medicine practice. All the while, he remains a practicing cardiologist—largely, as a fallback career."We're in the era of the physician-preneur,” “Create side hustles, fertilize your side hustles, and once they start maturing—then you can start backing off on your day job.” Dr. Raya spotlights physician burnout and the “golden handcuffs” and how to break free. “I always want to uplevel and help somebody,” “I just started in the health arena, and that's not where I ended up.”To contact Dr. Raya, connect with him on LinkedIn or message him via his website vikramraya.com. Today’s entrepreneur shares her love for movement, the outdoors, yoga, and the importance of living and leading a joyous life through connection with your body and mind. Brittany Phelps is the Founder of Prana Preneurs, a mentorship program for entrepreneurs passionate about creating conscious businesses. She works with her clients to help them feel good about the business they’re building and the wealth they’re receiving from it. Brittany fell in love with yoga and when the owner of her local yoga studio expressed interest in moving on or selling the business, Brittany jumped on the opportunity and decided to dive headfirst into the yoga business. With her yoga studio being so in-person, how has COVID-19 affected her business? Brittany had to close in the beginning, and they later opened with 30% capacity. She had to get smart and pivot. She now hosts classes online as well as outside. Brittany was lucky, she had no business debt, so she was able to do things a little smarter and pivot in a way that did not overstrength her financials. This episode introduces the idea of “small-scale, home-based production businesses” (whew! that's a mouthful!) as a powerful approach to career-building, income, and wealth that might be right for you. This is nothing new. Humans have produced, bartered, and sold home-based products for millennia. However, spending much more time at home during the global pandemic has made all of us to think about our careers in new ways. Plus, with amazing new production techniques, marketing strategies, and sales channels, home-based production continues to grow exponentially. Learn about the host's own introduction to “cottage industries” as the inspiration for this podcast as well as plans for future episodes. Small biz whiz Travis Hollman and his business partner Johnny DeLa Valdene are a couple of “fun-preneurs” who have made millions off fun. From their Marshmallow Shooter toy which will reap $8 million, their hot new show called Bully Beatdown (#2 show on MTV), and their latest innovation … a nationally distributed beverage called “Vacation in a Bottle” (expecting sales of over $6 million)… these two have a handle on how to turn “fun” into dollar signs.

Friends or Foes? Allies or arch enemies? Can sisterhood and camaraderie be sustained within and beyond professional parameters? Affirmative! It's time to bury the hatchet ladies! Women individually and collectively withhold a myriad of gifts, rewards and assets. Hence, one woman's feats/talents compensates and compliments another female's shortcomings/deficiencies. Yet, rather than functioning interdependently, competition and divisiveness creates discord/tension among the feminine gender. Please join Normia and fellow entrepreneur/founder of Female Boss Tribe, Keisha Ifill, as they dialogue on the aforementioned topic. Intricate poetry and prose will be embedded as always for your fanciful listening. Thought provoking question: How can disharmony within the women's realm/community be dissolved/discharged to yield a peaceful equilibrium? Here's a shortlist of Keisha Ifill's entrepreneurial/leadership business ventures: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-R0NK2WfodCN4cnwpHkVC4HkamYI-bOKIlcclv-hhsk/edit?usp=sharing
Now for this week's interview, we have Nick and Gen, my first couple on the show, and they have a podcast called The Great Anomaly. They travel the world as a couple or as they refer to themselves “ couple-preneurS” and they help other couples, freelancer and entrepreneurs realize the same location independent dream. For a lot of the listeners, there is always this romantic notion of quitting your life and traveling the world. Trust me, I have been there, and let me tell you. It is amazing when it happens, but if you have no plan like I did, you will run out of money fast and it will not be a pretty scene. Nick and Gen are entrepreneurs to start. They made decent a living from affiliate marketing and thus began their journey on the road to entrepreneurship. However, they were extremely overworked and their business did not aligned with their goals and purpose as a couple. In our conversation, they walked us through their exact journey to how they were able to do what they do; live anywhere in the world and have a business to support both of them. I have said it many times on the show, these episodes about traveling is not meant to romanticize traveling, but this show is about lifestyle design and being a changemaker, creating a change for others and embracing the changes in our lives. We have a candid conversation on the reality of this lifestyle and how if you are a couple or single, you can apply their techniques to start creating the freedom that you want to see in your life. I want to point out, there are no shortcuts and it is certainly not going to happen overnight, but it is always great to see case studies like Nick and Gen. Being "couple-preneurs", building businesses and traveling the world.
