This week, we are joined by "Cannibal" Cam Schwarz of Rabid Dog Films and we're taking a look at the cult classic, "Zombi Holocaust" AKA "Doctor Butcher MD (Medical Deviant). Released in 1980, this low-budget Italian film follows a group of scientists and medical professionals as they investigate a series of mysterious disappearances on a remote island in the Pacific. But as they soon discover, the island is overrun with zombies created by a mad scientist experimenting with voodoo and cannibalism. While the acting and special effects may not be top-notch, "Zombi Holocaust" embraces its B-movie status and delivers a deliciously campy and entertaining experience. The film's pacing may be slow at times, but the cheesy charm more than makes up for it. Fans of bad movies, this is one you don't want to miss. In what has become a yearly tradition here at The Cinema Psychos Show, our first major episode of the year is our breakdown of the year that was 2022. In the film industry, this year had something for just about everybody. Do you want some corporate drama about a media empire's take over of a streaming service and subsequently culling loads of content (some of which leans more in the diversity section, or maybe you wanted to see a beloved actor from the '90's strike a comedian on national television? If movies are more your game, well we've got everything from wizards battling witches, yellow pill shaped merchanising machines, and dinosaurs....of course. So if you are as exhausted by 2022 as we were, reminisce with us as we say adeu to the year that was 2022. On this special bonus episode and first entry into what we're calling “What's Brian Watching?” We are looking at M3GAN, the newest entry from Blumhouse (ew) that at first glance, seems like a Child's Play rip off but has a few surprises up it's sleeves. M3GAN is a movie that makes you wonder what would happen if your kid's iPad grew consciousness and decided that it could parent your kid better than you… You might want to re-enable screen time after watching this movie. Ah the holidays, the time of the year when we all get to contribute to our capitalist hellscape of a society by buying our love with gifts…but have you ever wondered what would happen if your gifts came alive? If you thought that was a better plot for 1989's Puppet Master you would be correct! Puppet Master introduces the world to Andre Toulon and his murderous puppets with fantastic Mortal Kombat names like “Blade” and “Leech Woman”. Unfortunately, this entry of Puppet Master also has a very convoluted plot dealing with a group psychic frienemies and zombies…kinda. It's very rare that the first entry intro a franchise is weak with subsequent sequels being better. So grab your group of psychic frienemies as we take a trip to Bodega Bay to hang out with The Puppet Master. WE ARE ON TIKTOK! In an effort to appease our Gen Z, we are now on tiktok! This week, we are celebrating our 250th episode with a look at what is arguably considered one of the scariest horror films of all time; The Exorcist. The 1973 movie by William Friedkin that was so terrifying that it led to people fainting in theaters and enraging the religious right in the early 70's. But does this movie truly deserve the title of scariest film? And is it really Anti-Catholic? Well saddle up, cause we are going in deep as we analyze the world of Pazuzu with our review of The Exorcist. This week, John and Brian travel to Transylvania to visit the crypt of Count Dracula….well not quite, we actually visit 1995 and Dracula's crypt is full of Leslie Nielsen Naked Gun Jokes, Peter McNichol eating flies, and of course…an enema. We are talking about the horror parody from comedic master Mel Brooks, “Dracula Dead and Loving It.” A movie that feels like a weird sibling to 1974's Young Frankenstein; a parody of both the early 90's classic horror monster revival ushered in by 1992's Bram Stoker's Dracula and a comedic homage to Hammer Films. But unlike Young Frankenstein, this movie was panned by critics and marked the end of Mel Brooks line of parody films dating all the way back to the 70's. But is this movie really that awful? This week, Brian and John open the box and venture to the world of The Hellraiser Franchise. Now while we will eventually get to Hulu's Hellraiser Remake, we felt it was necessary to look at the absolute worst moment in the franchise. We are of course talking about 2011's Hellraiser Revelations. This movie is on a whole other level of bad; and we aren't just saying that cause it features "Fat/Wish.com/Great Value Pinhead". This movie was one in a series of copyright grabs by everyone's favorite creep, Harvey Weinstein and Dimension Films in an effort to retain the rights for profit. Fair warning...This particular episode of The Cinema Psychos Show is a bit extra explicit. So if you like our episodes where we are a bit more on the vulgar humor side, this one is for you. This week as we drift out of our Halloween Hangover, John has forced Brian to finally confront his distaste for The Scream Franchise. Long time listeners of the podcast will know that despite Brian being an aficianado of cinematic terror, Wes Craven's 1996 meta-filled opus stands as a very consequential film in Brian's view of how the horror movie was changed irrevocably as a result of it's success. So it is a franchise analysis AND a therapy session, a trick and treat if you will. So grab your ghost face mask and book of meta movie knowledge as we crack open The Scream Franchise! John and I were lucky enough to attend The Eerie Horror Fest earlier in the month and we had the pleasure of talking with a number of celebrity guests. This first one was one of the ones I was most interested in meeting. John Adams and Tobey Poser are the husband and wife team, who along with their children, have truly shaken up the indie horror landscape with their terrifying film, "Hellbender" which holds a 97% one Rotten Tomatoes and has In talking with them, we got to learn about how they take real life situations that their family has dealt with and weave them into tales of the macabre that frighten and delight. It feels like forever since we released an episode PsychosNation! But after a brief hiatus that saw us travel to be part of The Eerie Horror Fest, we are back with some amazing new episodes recorded inside the festival itself. This week, we are venturing to the bowels of streaming hell as we take a look at the newest cinematic offering from Rob Zombie with "The Munsters". A movie that as of late has hit a mixed bag of reviews with some finding charm in the bizarro color scheme, zany characters, and well....the fact it wasn't as terrible as Universal Studios's trailer department had made it appear. Others have of course, as with most of Rob Zombie's movies as of late, have found this to be a bizarro attempt at telling the story of The Munsters without truly understanding what The Munsters were about. But where do we stand in this opinion tug of war? Well tune in and find out! MERCH AND ANNOUCEMENTS Our co-host, John Wooliscroft, has a brand new film channel on youtube. This week, we are taking a trip to Hollywood and symbolism in Director & modern horror maestro, Jordan Peele in his newest film, NOPE. Nope is an interesting movie as on the surface it feels very much like a throw back to the old school monster movies of the 70's and 80's. But in classic Jordan Peele style, there is way more meaning behind the film..and moments of levity between the terror. However, with a knock out film like his first film "GET OUT" and the "meh" reception to his second film, "US" how does "NOPE" stack up? Does it deliver the scares and laughs or does it fail to live up to expectations? MERCH AND ANNOUCEMENTS Our co-host, John Wooliscroft, has a brand new film channel on youtube. It's not everyday that we get an indie film to review. And this one comes straight from Germany! Filmmaker Zetkin Yikilmis unleashes her newest film, "PINK RABBIT". The film details the bizarre journey, concocted by an equally bizarre man dressed like a Pink Rabbit, that a young mother named Martha has to endure on the way home to her young son and husband. The movie pays homage to a number of bizarre and surreal tropes from other genre films while at the same time forcing us to ask the question of whether all the horrors that the Pink Rabbit puts Martha through are real or all in her head. Being an indie film, we definitely saw moments of greatness coupled with areas that we felt could be improved. But don't take our word for it. Pink Rabbit is available worldwide on Sept. 13 for you to check out for yourself. Check out the trailer for PINK RABBIT https://vimeo.com/673713292 Be sure to look for Pink Rabbit when it drops on Amazon, Vudu, Itunes, and everywhere else on Sept. 13th from Gravitas Ventures! https://www.facebook.com/pinkrabbitthemovie MERCH AND ANNOUCEMENTS Our co-host, John Wooliscroft, has a brand new film channel on youtube. This week, John and Brian sit in some group therapy as we examine the loss of their childhood with the newest dinosaur-sized turd in the form of Jurassic World: Dominion. This movie has it all: a ridiculous plot, phoned in "member berries in the form of vintage Jurassic Park characters showing up, and all the dinosaur action that a bloated hollywood cash grab can muster. Despite all that, the real question we all have is how can a movie franchise fall so low? How can you start off with a movie that captured the imaginations of billions with cutting edge CGI that changed the way movies were made; and end up with what literally is a bloated sausage filled with the entrails of greatness. It's a question that Brian and John attempt to answer. So grab your popcorn folks, cause group therapy is in session as we take a trip to Jurassic World: Dominion. When you think of gross out/sex comedies of the 2000's-2010's; What films come to mind? Do you automatically go to such classics like "Road Trip". Or perhaps you are a bit more sophisticated and prefer to sing "Scotty Doesn't Know!" as you binge watch Euro Trip for the 50th time. Or maybe there is a deep dark crevace in your DVD rack that holds one of the most unfunny and purely vile films to grace the silver screen.....No its not 500 Days of Sodom. Its 2013's "MOVIE 43." A movie that some might view as a practical joke played on both the actors in the film and of course you the audience, Movie 43 helmed by one of the authors of late 90's gross out comedy, Peter Farrelly, features a cavalcade of A and B list stars who happen to have been dooped into starring in a gross out unfunny anthology of gross out horrors. This week, John and Brian are entering the world of conspiracy, aliens, and the supernatural as we review the indie film, Flatwoods. Flatwoods; directed by Pittsburgh local filmmaker, James Lockhart, features a mysterious story about the alleged monster that stalks the flatwoods area of West Virgina. The film also features a ton of South West PA Film talent from the likes of actors like David Ogradowski, John Iwanonkiw, Christina Chickis, and Mandy Simpson. With a story steeped in local lore and weaved into a web of conspiracy, the film tells the story of documentary filmmaker Carol James and her pursuit for the truth about the Flatwoods Monster. Featuring impressive visual effects and practical effects for an indie feature, the blends fiction with reality as it features interviews with acutal ufologists. After a bit of a break, we are back with a brand new episode. And after our foray into high cinema with last episode's extensive review of "The Batman". We figured we had to follow up such a high mark in cinema with a complete turd of a movie. Kinda like having your delicious taco bell then suffering for it about an hour or so later. And boy of boy do we have a stinker this week. What happens when you combine a bunch of c list actors with Kelsey Grammer, The Laurence Brothers, and Edge fro WWE? You get 2020's hot mess, "Money Plane". A movie that begs the question, did the laurence brothers have to give Fraiser Crane a literal plane full of cash to get him to be in this movie? Or why did the filmmakers put their lone actor who knows how to fight, Edge, in a cock pit for more than half of the movie? There's a lot to unpack with this one. So don't forget your boarding pass and remember, anything goes on the money plane, except compitent storytelling ==================== Want to watch the video version of this episode? - https://youtu.be/_6hAXZaDblc FROM THE CONCESSION STAND- YOUTUBE SHOW! This week, Brian and John don't just emerge from the shadows, they are the shadows.....well not quite. More like they emerged from the shadows of a movie theater with smilex gas grins across their faces after seeing Matt Reeves' "The Batman". Fair warning, this review does contain some spoilers. So if you have yet to see the film, please check it out first. But with this being the 3rd batman to be introduced in less than 20 years, does this version of the caped crusader hold up against the down to earth version of Bale's Batman or the roided up part time leader of the Justice League version that we get with Affleck. Or could this version of The Dark Knight actually be the most definitive version that we've seen in live action? We'll find out today! This week, we are back with a long long long overdue breakdown of the year that was 2021. Yes it's March and yea this is usually the time of the year when we pull a bad Leprechaun movie to review...but 2021 was full of so much insanity, how could we not spend some time talking about it. How much insanity do you ask? Well we've got everything from the tragedy and revolt of film workers to those we lost....and those we cancelled. This week, we are jacking in "hehe" back into the world of kung fu and bullet-time with a long awaited review of The Matrix Resurrections. A movie that no one really asked for that arrived 20 years too late in the middle of a pandemic and oh yea....as part of the rooster of HBO Max movies that has had it's theatrical revenue undercut by streaming. But aside from all those things in "the real world" going against it, what about the movie itself? Happy New Year Psychos Nation! It's been a hell of a 2021 and we are hopeful that 2022 just sucks a little bit less than last year. So to kick off 2022, we are celebrating by reviewing probably one of the only slasher films that tackle New Years Eve; 1980's New Years Evil. A movie that manages to neither scare or entertain any audience, New Years Evil is the story of Punk Rock/New Wave Elvira Wannabe "Blaze" who on her call in music show is terrorized by a caller by the name of "Evil" who threatens to murder women at the stroke of midnight in everytime zone leading up to the westcoast and ulimately her. The movie features a bizarre mish-mash of "punk rock" that honestly would offend any serious punk rock fan along with a killer whose motivations are rooted in crazy levels of mysogyny. So grab some champagne and your noise makers as we dive into 1980's New Years Evil. FROM THE CONCESSION STAND- YOUTUBE SHOW! We've got a brand new youtube show called "From The Concession Stand." After seven years podcasting from the Work Hard Studio, the Drinking Partners record their last interview in the basement they've come to love, and much to Ed and Day's sadness, the couch won't be moving to their new space with Epicast Network. For this final interview, they welcome Mike Hitt from MCM Studios, or as he describes himself, “the most known unknown person.” In this high energy episode, Mike explains his rise in the Pittsburgh music industry after a car accident changed the trajectory of his path. As both a musician and music producer, he shares multi-angled insight into the industry, including how 90% of his work happens behind the scenes and that passion is the necessary push when people aren't watching. This “throw himself into the fire” approach began when he was 14 and starting out as a deejay and continues now as he releases his hit, “Think and Grow Rich.” Listen in as Mike speaks on how to run a successful studio; tip one: he shows up no matter what. Keep tuned in as he offers further tips, which Ed and Day have fun with, which takes the conversation into new, wild directions. How to get better? Expand your experiences, Mike suggests. To hear Ed and Day wrap up the last Work Hard-based podcast and reminisce on their time, stay tuned until the final moments. Find out more about Mike Hitt: https://www.mikehitt.com

This week, Brian and John travel to the year 10191 the the world of Dune. Being that Denis Villeneuve's masterpiece was recently released on HBO Max and theaters to rave reviews and serving as a visual effects schmorgasborg, we thought that instead of do a review on that movie that we take a look at the bizarre and hard to understand 1984, David Lynch version that gave us such wonderful moments like Sting in a triangle cod piece, Sir Patrick Stewart discussing that moods are for "cattle and love play", and of course the wacky wacky wacky Harkonnens. This week, Brian and John are explorers in the further reaches of experience as we take a trip back to the year 1987 and review a film that serves as a perfect fit between this gap of time between Halloween and Thanksgiving; Clive Barker's Hellraiser. A movie that is equal parts family drama (just like thanksgiving) and sadomascistic demons from beyond the grave.....see I told you it works for both holidays. Hellraiser was a film that stuck out from the masked killers and dream demons from the 80's. It presented something new, an intelligent monster that ultimately was not the real monster of the film. With it being next up on the remake chopping block with count'em 2 projects coming to HULU and HBO Max, we figured it would be a good time to review this twisted film that holds a special place in Brian's heart. So grab your favorite S&M outfit and of course, no tears please as it is a waste of good suffering as we review the 1987 classic, HELLRAISER. " FROM THE CONCESSION STAND- YOUTUBE SHOW! What happens when nostalgia for a horror book series from the 90's collides with a streaming giant with an insatiable appetite for content....you get the 3 part extravaganza, FEAR STREET! As we come down from the halloween highs, Brian and Laine felt it was a good idea to take a deep look at this series that manages to on one hand bring a good amount of gore and decent characters to life, but at the same time anger and confuse Brian due to a lack of attention to detail or following the film's own rules. We are of course talking about Halloween Kills (2021). The sequel to the 2018 hit that served as more of a mouth wash to cleanse the pallete of the Rob Zombie stink. Yet the question remained, where do you go from here? Last we left Michael Myers, he was roasting in a firey death trap set by Laurie Strode and fam using home defense designs she clearly got off of reddit from Kevin McCallister himself. How does this story remain fresh despite now being the 12th entry into a franchise that has roamed the story spectrum from being a film about a babysitter stalker to dealing supernatural spooky cult. This week, we are rolling out the perfect trick (or treat depending on how much you like this movie) with a trip back in time to the 80's.....we're not sure the year because the little gem of a movie we are reviewing may have been shot in 1984, 1985, and then released in 1986, 1987, and 1988. The movie is the mutant mish mash that is SPOOKIES! A movie you probably remember bits of pieces from during those late nights on TNT's Monster-Vision or USA's Up-All-Night from the 90's but never actually sat down to watch the whole film. And why would this movie not be memorable? It's got everything! Giant Spiders that suck you dry, farting muck men, were cats, a mid-life crisis dad hanging out with a bunch of 20 something year olds who themselves are pretending to be teenagers, and oh yea...ZOMBIES!! This week, John and Brian are back with a breakdown of a indie horror film just in time for Spooky Season. Friend of the show, Steve Rudzinski has dropped the sequel to his 2016 magnum killer unicorn opus with CarousHELL The 2nd. We try to remain fairly spoiler free on this one but be warned there are a few plot points dropped in this review that may be spoilery. CarousHELL The 2nd is one of the rare movies that we've come across that fostered a pretty decent back and forth conversation over what worked and what didn't work, the role of story in films that feature over the top concepts, and what we all hope to see in a third CarousHELL film. This week, Brian and John break down the life and career of the king of the parody film.....No not the Zucker's and no not Naked Gun or Airplane. We are instead talking about Mel Brooks. A man who has helped shape comedy (and film history) with his fantastic wit in his ability to write and punch up scripts for TV, his parody films knocking everything from the western all the way to parodies of Dracula and Frankenstein, and funding and producing films that transcend cinema with credits for The Fly and The Elephant Man. This week, we are back after a brief hiatus dropping one of our most introspective episodes to date. Most of us have a deep down love of terrible cinema. It's the demented gremlin cousin of the part of you that laudes the best director or best film of the year. Deep down, we all love to watch an awesomely bad film. But did you ever take a step back and ask yourself why you love terrible cinema? That's the question Brian and John attempt to answer today. What is it that drives us to revel in the bizzarre and often illconcieved world of bad movies? FROM THE CONCESSION STAND- YOUTUBE SHOW! This week's episode is 220 episodes in the making. This week, we are closing out our long running review of the Tim Burton/Joel Schumacher Original Batman Series with 1997's Batman and Robin. What is truly amazing about this cluster of neon, terrible acting, terrible story, puns, and camp galore is that this movie was the fear that fan boys had back in 1988 when Michael Keaton, at the time knkown for comedic roles, was cast. A fear that Batman would return to the ridiculous and over the top parody as seen in the 1960's Adam West series. This film is notable for being the death kneel in the Batman franchise that ultimately would help spawn a super hero revival rooted in darker and more mature superhero stories. It begs the question, if Batman and Robin didn't exist as the proverbial "rock bottom" would we have movies like Blade, Xmen, Spiderman, and the films of the MCU? Join us today as take a trip back to the day that Batman died in the theaters as we review, BATMAN AND ROBIN! FROM THE CONCESSION STAND- YOUTUBE SHOW! This week, we are hanging out at the mall as we take a look at the darker side of fashion...and comedy in the 2020 Canadian dark comedy horror film, SLAXX. Slaxx is a movie that we all discovered while surfing Shudder and boy oh boy is it a bloody good time but also forces Laine and Brian to relive their deepest darkest memories of working in Retail Hell. This week we are back after a brief break with an absolute first. a new movie that will be inducted into the revered Pantheron of Utter S*#t! The 90 minute long Warner Brothers Infomercial; Space Jam: A New Legacy. A sequel to a movie that isn't as good as you remembered when you were 11 years old nor was it a sequel that we absolutely asked for. Space Jam: A New Legacy features truly the apex of 'member berries combined with by far some of the worst acting by not only Lebron James but also award winning actor and WAR MACHINE, Don Cheadle. We really are wondering how one actor can go from working with Paul Thomas Anderson and playing a marvel character then jump into playing a spastic, mustache twirler named Al-G- Rhythm. So in the words of Newman, grab your wheeties, lace up your Nikes, we'll grab a big mac on the way to the looney bin as we dive into the smoldering nostalgia turd that is Space Jam: A New Legacy. This week, Brian and John tackle Marvel Studios' first foreay into the quagmire that is the post-pandemic movie landscape with Black Widow. A movie that was late due to a pandemic but also about 5 years too late due to the bone-headed belief that female-led superhero films would not sell in a sea of space gods, hulks, iron men, and super soldiers. The result is a movie that tries to make up for lost time that originally saw a character reduced to the quintessential "sexy lamp" in Iron Man 2 and only over the course of 8 years finally get some character developement in Avengers Endgame only to die at the very end. So yea, this movie is starting out pretty deep in the hole. So strap in as we wander through the Red Room and find out all about our favorite red-headed assasin in "BLACK WIDOW." This week, we are celebrating the 4th of July the only way we know how. By breaking down one of the biggest parodies of American imperialism, 2004's Team America: World Police. A movie from the minds of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, probably the only people in the world who could make a movie that offends literally everyone yet still holds up as a fantastic parody of not only post 9/11 hysteria but also a parody of over the top Jerry Bruckheimer films. Do we think this movie could be made now a days....probably not, but if you're winding down from your backyard bbq and want to watch something other than Independence Day, take a listen to our breakdown of TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE! This week: Day Bracey - one half of the Drinking Partners podcast - is in to talk about Fresh Fest, an entrepreneurial new beer festival he is launching with partners and friends. Since Day is our good friend and Epicast Network neighbor, we're giving his new venture the Pitchwerks treatment! Scot and Day get into the details on what the festival is, and how they communicate their unique value to all the beer-heads that might be interested. Bonus this week: Watch the Drinking Partners and Fresh Fest social media accounts to see custom pitches that Scot came up with to change up Fresh Fest's messaging and help his friends to sell more tickets.
If you've got your head in a rut, this episode is just what the doctor ordered. This week, Scot welcomes Dan Finnell into the Epicast Network studios to talk about MindMatrix, a sales enablement product...but the conversation covers a lot more ground than that. With 40+ years of sales and BD experience between them, Dan and Scot develop a fast rhythm early, and use it to laugh and commiserate on what makes the job hard, what makes it easier, and new ways to think about the challenges of a typical work day.

Marta On The Move Podcast- Hosted by Marta Napoleone Mazzoni
Marta On The Move visits with local Hollywood Special Effects Legend Tom Savini. In Pittsburgh, PA, on an unassuming street lives a legend in the film industry. I got the pleasure of visiting Tom Savini in his house here in Bloomfield. I just left from there, and I am still reeling at what I saw. He may be the largest collector of casts, busts (his own and others), and various other collectibles. I fawned over two busts of Tim Curry's devil character from the movie Legend, made by one of his students Darren Holt from Tom Savini's Special Make-Up Effects Program. located in Monesson, Pa. I passed by the sword that beheaded Sean Bean in The Game Of Thromes series. Brad Pitt's helmet from Troy, assorted death masks from Clark Cable, to David Bowie. I casually strolled by a life size version of the Terminator, or Val Kilmer as Batman. In the middle all of these collections, is Tom Savini, wandering the house his father built, giving me the grand tour. The only man in Hollywood who can claim the titles of director, stuntman, make up artist, and actor, Tom Savini is a whirlwind of talent, that we in Pittsburgh are lucky to call ours. You have seen his work everywhere, whether you know it or not. Remember Jason from Friday the 13th? His creation. Any number of zombies in Dawn of the Dead, along with hundreds of others, including the monster from Creepshow. (Which I walked by and nearly jumped at how real it looked) In front of the camera he has starred in various films from Dawn of the Dead, From Dusk Til Dawn, Perks of Being a Wallflower, Django Unchained, and is the only person I have ever met to be a character on The Simpsons. Even with all this under his belt, he is extremely personable, and humble, taking the time to stop and show me tons of things I asked about. (Including the life size version of the Creature from the Black Lagoon in his backyard) I originally met Tom at a convention, and casually asked him if he would do a plug for my show, he responded with "Sure! I can even be on the show if you want" Not believing he meant it, I was shocked when he scheduled a phone podcast with me, and took the time to allow me to come to his house/studio to shoot some pictures. Listen below for the episode, and keep an eye out for another one released when his documentary Smoke and Mirrors: The Story of Tom Savini hits closer to Halloween. Thanks again Tom!
