You shouldn't skip breakfast they say.. It's the most important meal of the day (debatable). But what about when the "Breakfast" in question is a callous meal served with a sword straight through the heart? That's right...I am talking about heartbreaks and the very wicked games people play with the emotions of others. How do we avoid being taken for a ride on the make-believe express? Happy New Year Folks! Casey is as pumped as you are to hit the ground running. With a new year at hand some changes have been made here at the TSC studio. One is that Casey will be bringing sermons along side his normal episodes of crime, prison, law enforcement interviews and politics. In this very first episode of 2022 he touches on a subject that is less and less heard from pulpits across America and the world. We hope you pass this episode to your loved ones and friends. Let's make 2022 count! Enjoy. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/theshotcaller/support

Happy New Year Folks! We are starting it off right with a special guest. Stevi Gelinas deployed to Iraq as a 88M Transport Operator (Truck Driver) with the Army National Guard. While deployed she was assaulted which ultimately led to being isolated away from other service members and veterans. Her resilience and strategy to overcome such a trauma are inspirational. From hiking mountains across the world to now expanding her education by studying Marriage and Family Therapy, Stevi is a a prime example of what this next generation (our generation) of veterans is capable of. War, Nature, Helping others; Those three components are common amongst this generation.I am so thankful for Stevi to have shared this conversation. Bringing some levity to life as a Wednesdayite, enjoying the highs and only occasionally wallowing in the lows.A nice quiet Christmas week for The Owls - aside from the shock manager sacking, a bombastic press conference from the chairman, the small matter of two wins in a week and several positive records broken. Happy New Year Folks! If there's one thing that 2020 has taught us, is the importance of taking care of our health. So lets kick off 2021 on the right foot, by taking care of our bodies using these 5 healthy living habits. They include: 1. Sleeping Well (try sleeping by 11pm every night for at least 7-8hours) 2. Eating Well (consume oily, fatty, spicy, sweet and cold foods in moderation and have your meals on time) 3. Exercise (around 2 hours of intense physical activity or 3 hours of moderate physical activity per week, stretch before and after to avoid injury) 4. Mental Breaks (avoid overworking yourself and destress with fun activities like hobbies and hanging with friends) 5. Proper Ergonomics (ensure your work space is optimised with a proper screen height and good lower back support etc... to prevent work related aches and pains) As with picking up any habits, the key is consistency over intensity. Make small actionable changes that you can commit on a regular basis. Adopt a "MUST DO" mentality instead of a "should do" and over time these healthy living habits will become a part of who you are. Stay happy and have a great 2021!
Thank goodness for the end of THIS year. Many folks are happy to say goodbye to 2020 and hello to 2021! In your bid to make new year resolutions, don't pressurise yourself too much, its okay to take it slow, and if you can't accomplish those tasks you planned out, its fine, it doesn't make you any less of a person. Please do make resolutions that can be actualized in real sense. Do remember the beginning of the year doesn't signify your rebirth, you don't transform overnight. Happy New Year Folks.

Happy New Year Folks. With 2019 just starting lots of you will be setting New Year's Resolutions or Training Goals so it seemed like a great time to revisit the question, Do you always need to have a specific Goal?I discuss:When to follow a specific goal and how to know if it's a goal that really means something to you and is worth pursuing.Whether a goal is specific or non-specific having a plan of action and striving for progression is key and why ensuring expectations on realistic progression are addressed is vital. The difference between time-bound goals and open-ended goals and why open-ended goals can actually help create more sustainable, longterm focus and habits. Why jumping from one goal to the next upon completion isn't necessarily a good idea and how going into a goal maintenance or transition phase between goals is fine and is often the better thing for us to do.If you're looking for guidance on goal setting or are unsure of where to go after achieving a goal this episode is for you.

On January 1, 1808 the United States abolished the importation of slaves to this country. On that same day, Rev. Absalom Jones presented a sermon at St. Thomas African Episcopal Church to celebrate this momentus event. The sermon conveys thankfulness for that step toward freedom and hope for the days to come. In this episode Adam Coleman recites that sermon in celebrating 2017 and reaching back in thankfulness for the freedoms we now enjoy. Absalom Jones had powerful words for his congregation in 1808 and those words still have relevance for us today. Hear ye him....
