It's a blast from the past and we are rereleasing episode #9 and man oh He-Man, what an episode it is! Let us treat you to the 1987 epic, Masters of the Universe. Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella star in this highly contested 80's adventure, based on the action figures, NOT the cartoon. Much to our delight, we find this to be the Doctor's first ever viewing of this film, which is a treat in and of itself.    There are swords AND lasers, a hoard of Darth Vader robots, the manipulation of time and space, a questionable quartet of Eternia's meanest and baddest, a villain that would have perhaps been more at home on the Shakespearean stage than the halls of Castle Grayskull and a wee baby Courtney Cox!   The Doctor can barely contain her excitement at her first glimpse of He-Man, Snoelle really needs you to know that it's pronounced "Man-At-Arms," and we discover our Eternian counterparts. We are charmed by the antics and eye of Tiny Tawny, almost get real emotional about our parents, are most impressed by Evil-Lyn and Skeletor's verbal foreplay and introduce you to a guy we like to call, Orc Daddy. All this and so much more, on this week's Reel Fun Times!

hey fam, riley here, and you know what that means. yup, skeletor couldn't write the description for this ep. turns out eternia has some pretty strict laws when it comes to, you know, trying to conquer the world or whatever, so he's not exactly in a position to make it to the usual recording studio, if you know what i mean. we do what we can, though. we still manage to talk about... uh, moss, i think? and something about orchids? honestly tho, a lot of this episode is a bit of a blur to me because we had some surprise guests that are just like, omg. you guys won't even believe it. i stan so hard. just listen, you'll see.

And the Noble King that lived inside it's walls was none other than the one and only King Grayskull! Ancestor to He-Man, and overall super-tough dude, King Grayskull ruled eternia with heart (and PECS!) and ended up making the ultimate sacrifce in order to stop Hordak in his tracks! No, he didn't buy all of your co-workers' girl scout cookies! No, he didn't agree to organize the Eternian car pool to make sure Ram-Man made it to speech therapy on time! He gave his life!!! And sure as you can say "Page Boy Haircut" the good folks at Mattel decided to make an action figure out of the Spirit of King Grayskull!

Put on your muscle shirt, break out your best evil laugh, and prepare for an epic Smashtoberfest confrontation between ancient mummies and skeleton demons...as only 1980s cartoon shows can deliver! By popular demand, the Smash Fiction crew takes on yet another of the most hotly-debated questions in all the multiverse: Who would win in a fight between He-Man's iconically-voiced purple-and-blue nemesis, Skeletor, and the bandage-wrapped bane of Third Earth, Mumm-Ra? The two classically evil fiends square off in the tower of Merklynn (you know, from that Visionaries show -- oh wait, the Mulkerins are the only people who actually remember that was a thing) and are prepared to resort to any and all tactics that will allow them to walk off with the wizard's fabled treasure (not to mention some great rolls on the magic item tables). Will Skeletor's  Havoc Staff, endless arsenal of verbose insults, and defunct but still inspirational Facebook page be enough to prove him the true master of the universe? Or will Mumm-Ra call upon the ancient spirits of evil for one final, unbeatable transformation sequence, and do to Skeletor what he did to the Thundercats in that one DC comic book we should all have agreed never to talk about? Also, Miles lays the smackdown on the Eternian political system, Dan and Colin make a ridiculous amount of D&D references, Liz does the best Skeletor impression, Kit's Lightning Round is as insane as it is predictable, and Brett Van Donsel provides some seriously spooky intro music (with an assist from wwww.incompetech.com).
