Live Every Sunday Morning | 10:30am EST. | Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbet and Robert Kuney. It was the debut of the new Sunday morning showgram and the Sports Honchos served up a heaping pile of eggs, bacon, and sports yak. The Honchos debuted a new segment called "Headlines to Make You Do Lines," and the inaugural edition featured cicada talk (they urinate) and guidelines from the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control on sex during the pandemic. The sack of sports was ripped open with a look around hockey, basketball, and baseball. The Honchos started the sports talk with the NHL playoffs, the Mark Scheifele hit on Jake Evans, and Canada relaxing their travel protocols in time for the final four in the playoffs. Next up was the NBA playoffs, the Clippers and Mavericks in a Game 7, the legacy of LeBron and KD, big changes with the Boston Celtics off the court, and the Liz Cambage body shaming story. Finally, the boys hashed out the Bob Brenly mess in Arizona. After the Honchos celebrated the career of Duke's Coach K, who is calling it quits after this coming season, there was a quick look at Helio Castroneves winning the Indy 500, Medina Spirit's second positive drug test, and 10,000 Olympic volunteers quitting less than two months before the start of the Summer Olympics in Japan. It was a new day for the Honchos, but the show ended the same way it always does - with the Dope of the Week. This week's winner? Gilles Moretton, head of the French Tennis Federation.Follow everywhere @sportshonchosAll archives at www.sportshonchos.com

Serena Williams descended upon the clay courts of the French Open in Paris this week, where, the year prior, she had become a lodestar of ridiculous controversy. In one early bout, Williams' decision to wear a black catsuit resulted in a violation; the form of dress has since been banned by the French Tennis Federation. "The combination of Serena this year, for example, it will no longer be accepted," FTF President Bernard Giudicelli told Tennis magazine.

After the French Tennis Federation struck down copyright claims against a well known twitter figure, questions arose again about the value of public exposure in tennis vs. broadcast rights and their privacy. This complicated issue will get no easier to navigate in years to come; Joey looks at both sides and gives some thoughts.
Andy Murray arrived in Paris with little form to speak of, under the weather, and by all accounts, tetchy. After losing the second set 6-4 against Andrey Kuznetsov, things were not looking up. According to Tennis Podcast presenters David Law and Catherine Whitaker, sets 3 and 4 of his first round win could end up being the turning point of his French Open. Perhaps even his year. He found renewed purpose, positive body language and incisive play. He looked more like the World No.1.The news was less positive for Johanna Konta, who lost from a set up, and Alexander Zverev, who couldn’t reproduce the form that landed him the Rome title. The podcast team assess their defeats, while also covering the win of Nick Kyrgios and the return of his good friend, Thanasi Kokkinakis. They also react to the storm over the actions of French tennis player Maxime Hamou towards Eurosport reporter Maly Thomas during an interview, behaviour described by the French Tennis Federation as ‘reprehensible’. In a decision that had been anticipated for months, French Tennis Federation president Bernard Giudicelli surprised many by not granting Maria Sharapova any wild card--not even into qualifying--for Roland Garros, locking out the two-time champion there as she continues to work on rebuilding her ranking following her 15-month absence due to a positive test. In this short episode, Ben discusses the style, cause, and correctness of the decision with two French tennis journalists: our beloved Carole Bouchard (NCR's France correspondant) and Vincent Cognet of L'Equipe.
