Com investimento bilionário, a Arábia Saudita é a grande favorita a sediar a Copa do Mundo de 2034. A Fifa anunciou que, daqui a 11 anos, o Mundial será disputado na Ásia ou Oceania, e por enquanto essa é a única candidatura oficial. Com craques internacionais contratados para a liga local, e mais estrangeiros circulando nas ruas do país, as mudanças da Arábia Saudita nos últimos anos são visíveis e não se limitam ao futebol. O esporte é apenas parte de um projeto para mudar a imagem de um país que, aos poucos, tenta se abrir para o mundo.  Tiago Leme, correspondente da RFI em RiadO investimento no futebol, no entretenimento e no turismo faz parte da chamada Visão 2030, uma estratégia lançada pelo governo em 2016, para diversificar a economia do país e reduzir a dependência do petróleo. Para isso, a Arábia Saudita já mudou regras e derrubou algumas restrições. No Oriente Médio, o príncipe herdeiro Mohammed bin Salman é visto como o responsável por essa reforma social, econômica e cultural.Com leis e costumes baseados na religião islâmica, a Arábia Saudita é uma monarquia absolutista, um dos países mais fechados do mundo. Porém, já houve evoluções importantes e o país tem demonstrado pontos de desenvolvimento social – que são possíveis de observar andando pela capital, Riad.Até 2019, por exemplo, mulheres eram proibidas de ir a estádios de futebol e também de dirigir veículos. Agora, elas podem. Antes, os estabelecimentos comerciais, como restaurantes e bancos, tinham espaços separados, um para homens sozinhos e outro para mulheres e famílias. Hoje, a maioria dos lugares é misturado. Só em 2019 o país passou a emitir visto de turismo para estrangeiros. Entre as restrições ainda existentes, estão a proibição total de bebidas alcoólicas e o culto em público de outras religiões.Atual treinador do Al Taawon, o brasileiro Péricles Chamusca está na Arábia há cinco anos e presenciou essas mudanças.“Eu acho que é um projeto com consistência. Não é só o futebol, eles estão investindo em várias áreas, e o futebol também está sendo uma ferramenta de divulgação do país. Mas o projeto é o turismo, de uma maneira geral: várias cidades sendo construídas, com alta tecnologia, o que vai chamar a atenção do mundo por vários motivos. Então, o futebol está sendo uma ferramenta inicial de divulgação, para que o país possa depois mostrar todo projeto final”, disse Chamusca.Cidade da Copa de 2034No projeto para a Copa do Mundo de 2034, a maioria dos 14 estádios serão construídos do zero, enquanto outros já existentes serão modernizados. O plano mais ousado é a construção de uma cidade do futuro, chamada de Neom, no noroeste do país, perto do Mar Vermelho. Além do estádio, o local também terá um resort de ski nas montanhas, uma ilha paradisíaca e uma cidade linear para até 9 milhões de habitantes, sem estradas e nem carros.Para desenvolver a Liga Saudita de futebol, o Fundo de Investimentos Público, órgão do Governo, adquiriu 75% dos quatro principais clubes do país: o Al Hilal e o Al Nassr, da capital Riad, e o Al Ittihad e o Al Ahli, da cidade litorânea de Jeddah. Foram investidos cerca de R$ 5 bilhões em contratações de atletas só na última janela de transferências.Na década passada, a China também atraiu destaques do futebol mundial com um alto investimento, mas lá o dinheiro era de empresários, donos dos clubes, e o plano fracassou após alguns anos. O brasileiro Anderson Talisca, que na época jogava no chinês Guangzhou Evergrande e agora está no saudita Al Nassr, comparou o projeto dos dois países.“A diferença é que aqui na Arábia Saudita é o governo que está fazendo essa mudança no futebol, e na China eram os donos dos clubes. Então é um pouco diferente. A responsabilidade aqui na Arábia Saudita é maior, porque é o país que quer isso. Lá na China não era o país que queria, eram os donos do clube que tinham bastante grana e faziam os investimentos para que o clube pudesse crescer", aponta. "Mas chegou um momento em que o governo começou a interferir na parte de compra e venda de jogadores, e isso acabou atrapalhando o crescimento do futebol. Já aqui na Arábia Saudita é totalmente diferente. O futebol aqui evoluiu, o nível já é alto. Acho que mais um ano, um ano e pouco vai estar entre as cinco maiores ligas do mundo”, apostou Talisca.Estrelas na Liga SauditaCom craques como Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Benzema, Mané, Kanté, Firmino e companhia, a Liga Saudita agora está sob os olhares do mundo todo, e o nível dos jogos está subindo. Today's topic is "World's Largest Soccer Stadium to be Built in China" By the end of 2022, Guangzhou Evergrande, a professional Chinese soccer team, will have the world's largest soccer stadium as its new home. On April 16, work started on the 100,000 seat stadium, which will cost $1.7 billion and will be made to look like a lotus flower. Guangzhou Evergrande are one of the best soccer teams in Asia. They were taken over by Evergrande in 2010, and have won the Chinese Super League eight times, and the Asian Champions Leagues twice. The early idea for the lotus flower design of the stadium came from the Evergrande Group chairman Hui Ka Yan, and it was designed by American designer Hasan Syed, who lives in Shanghai. It refers to Guangzhou, Evergrande's home city, which is sometimes called the "city of flowers." The CEO of Evergrande Group, Xia Hajun, said that the stadium would be "an important symbol of Chinese soccer going to the world," and compared it to famous buildings like Australia's Sydney Opera House and the United Arab Emirates' Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The stadium will have a floor area of 150,000 square meters and will include 16 Very Very Important Person (VVIP) private areas, 152 Very Important Person (VIP) areas, as well as spaces for players and media. "We hope the stadium will host the opening ceremony of the 2023 Asian Cup," Xia said. It could also be part of the FIFA Club World Cup that was going to take place in China next year, until FIFA decided to postpone it because of the coronavirus. A new date has not been set.
