I'm still enjoying this series, in which everything the main character has thought to be true about his life and world unravels as he discovered how much more lies outside the shadowy boundaries of his life. (listening to with Tanner): Brian's Hunt—the final book in the survival classic series that developed after Hatchet. Since I last wrote, we also listened to The River, Brian's Winter, and Brian's Return. We also continued our Gary Paulsen festival by listening to Northwind, which is about a Viking-era type of boy who has to survive alone on the sea.(listening to by self): Sisters in the Wind—I've barely begun this one, as I only recently finished listening to Warrior Girl, Unearthed. This is the third book following Firekeeper's Daughter, but it actually takes place temporally between the events of Firekeeper and Warrior Girl. I actually liked Warrior Girl, Unearthed more than Firekeeper's Daughter overall, but I was really left frustrated by the many holes in the ending. On this week's episode, I describe and honor Beltane, the Celtic festival of spring. Beltane is rich with magic as we celebrate the fertility of the land, the potential for new life and the abundance of nature. With the following weeks of May, into June, I encourage you to find your own way to honor Beltane. We are invited to be intentional about what we are planting inside of us for future growth. Delight in the late afternoon sun rays, the stunning cloudbursts and rainbows of this season. It's no coincidence that we celebrate mother's day around the same time we thank our Mother Earth for enriching our planet with abundance and magic. Happy Mother's Day and Happy Beltane! Enjoy the podcast!
May you have the courage to stand in your own knowing.May you find the grace to let go of striving for perfection, and instead embrace the sacredness of your imperfect, human journey.May luminous moments of optimism and possibility guide you, even as you move through gray times of despair and doubt.May you have the wisdom to choose differently, to prioritize what truly matters, creating a legacy that lingers. May you always find solace in the holy ground beneath your feet, the sacred presence that dwells within and all around you.Shine your light, dear one, your small, precious gifts are needed in this world.Happy Spring Equinox! I hope you are enjoying a gentle leap into a new season. Our own weather has been erratic and wild, including nearby tornadoes that wreaked havoc on our town. And, then, today, as I work on the newsletter, sporadic power outages at our house cutting off my internet. As such, this newsletter will be a little shorter than usual with only a brief audio edition. I've gotten very off schedule this week! Our shop update today is an eclectic one, featuring assorted divine imperfections, “Luna” one-of-a-kind goddesses, and some red winged Nemesis goddesses (by customer request). We also still have assorted goddesses in our very special spring pigment—a beautiful lilac with small flowers. We are using this pigment to honor Áine, the Irish Fairy Queen, who is this year's featured goddess at Gaea Goddess Gathering. We do know that she is a summertime goddess, but we felt like this pigment was an excellent match for the spring equinox/Ostara and our month of Persephone as well, so we went forward with it!This week's magic:* 8 minute video: beholding delight.Resource Reminders:* New free series: An Introduction to Goddess Studies* 1. getting started* 2. printable journal* 3. affirmation card set* 4. portable altar space* 5. introduction to thealogy* 6. influential authors in goddess studies* 7. audio retreat: spots of time (note: publishing Saturday)Blog Posts:* Ritual Reading for Spring Equinox (A Spring Ritual of Returning)* Clarity and the CrossroadsBeholding DelightReminder: Let us be open to delight. Happy Beltane, Friends. As we reflect more on “Beauty and the Beast,” we also explore embodiment rituals for accessing the vertical axis of our sovereign journey. Indeed, Beltane symbolism invokes celebratory images of the May Pole. So, too, can we shift our engagement with the chakras along our human vertical axis in service to alignment with our signature soul frequency.Musical selection: Inner Spaces by Gavin LukeDonations: http://paypal.com/paypalme/LoriGreenPodcast

Celebrating Beltane: Rituals, Traditions, and Magic In this episode of 'Practically Magick,' host Courtney Pearl, a pagan folk witch and spiritual guide, explores the traditions and significance of Beltane, a major point in the Wheel of the Year. Using the Seasons of the Witch Oracle deck, Courtney draws the cow card, symbolizing the themes of nurturing, growth, and journeys yet to come. Braves beat Mets and Ronald Acuña Jr injured as I rant about pitchers throwing at his head and that being tolerated by idiot commish rob manfred, Falcons draft breakdown by me and experts, Falcons undrafted signees, did UGA player make racist comment? Mike Shannon dies, college baseball player shot on field, tragedy in Tampa, Chargers interim head coach equates TCU to UGA, actual hockey news as cheap network shamed into doing what's right, death of Tour de France champion killed by his lover with the same gun his wife had killed herself with in the same house, and the real meaning of May Day. Hello and welcome to series 6 of the Prompted by Nature podcast! Happy Beltane if you're listening in real time and are celebrating! I'm Helen and I'm thrilled to be back after a little break. Not much has changed - read a few books, had some time out in Glastonbury, released this season's newsletter over on Substack - get subscribed if you're not already! - and generally had time to write and to get back to my own voice. The action point for each episode will now be up on each episode's page on the website. Today's episode is the perfect conversation to open with. It's slightly longer than usual as we covered so much ground. We had to re-schedule it a few times due to covid and ended up speaking on the libra full moon - perfect for two chatty libras! Victoria Bennet lives in Orkney with her husband and son, for whom she is also a full-time carer and home-educator. She is a writer, poet and creative producer, who founded Wild Women Press in 1999 and has spent the last 21 years facilitating creative experiences and curating platforms for women to share ideas, stories, inspirations and actions for positive change. Victoria has a wealth of creative experience and I encourage you to explore her website for all the information. Victoria's debut memoir, which we discuss in the episode, All My Wild Mothers, examines motherhood, loss, and the ancient art of wort-cunning (knowledge of medicinal plans and herbs) was long-listed for the Nan Shepherd Prize (2019) and the Penguin WriteNow Programme (2020) as well as winner of the Northern Debut Award. When she is not juggling home-ed, freelance creative projects, research, study and chronic illness, she can be found howling with the Wild Women, her creative tribe. In this conversation, we discuss: What took her to Orkney The process of writing All My Wild Mothers The symbiosis of writing and gardening Creativity and ecology The impact of her upbringing on her interactions with nature The structure of the book Choosing presence in both grief and joy Combining deep time, long time and momentary time in the writing process Re-finding creativity after loss Writing and memory Wild Women Press and prioritising creative projects And, two new questions for everyone: The advice Victoria would give to her younger self What she's looking forward to You can find Victoria on Twitter and Instagram @beewlyd and on her website www.victoriabennett.me I've also popped the video created for the book using music inspired by it on the episode page on my website. You can find All My Wild Mothers via any independent bookshop or you can order it from the library. It's also available on my Prompted by Nature bookshop. And if you're in a book club, I highly recommend taking Victoria up on her offer of coming along to any online meet-up to talk about the book. No change with me, I'm on @prompted.by.nature on Instagram, @promptedbynature on Facebook and @promptedxnature on Twitter plus you can subscribe to my Substack newsletter, read the latest on the blog and find out about upcoming events via my website www.promptedbynature.co.uk Remember to pop back on Tuesday for the writing episode that follows this one. Happy listening and I'll speak to you soon. Bye!
Happy Beltane! This week we take a look at the rest of Taurus season and May's energy updates with the Taurus-ruled Hierophant bringing in some potent lessons right in time for eclipse season and the Venus-ruled Empress reminding us to nurture ourselves this month as much as we do those we love. We also have the Queen of Pentacles reversed, asking us to examine the balance of our work to the play/personal side of life and what shifts may be necessary to recalibrate this.
Happy Beltane! Today we officially arrive at the midpoint of the Spring Season. This is such a sweet time. It's the time in which we really begin to see and feel the awakening and renewal that comes with the spring season. Between yesterday's new moon, the partial solar eclipse, and today's season midpoint, this is a great time to get outside and spend some quality time in nature. Over the past week Koda and I did just that. We went camping. The weather was a bit chilly, but the camper was cozy. The trails were dry and the beach was empty and it felt like we had the entire park to ourselves. We roamed the forest listening to the spring peepers, watching the birds begin to nest, and Koda lit up when I gave her a bit of off leash play time . . . she even went for a dip in Lake Michigan. This little getaway was just the soul food I was needing. Life get's busy. During busy times it can feel difficult to step back for a little nature time. The thing is, taking restorative time is exactly what helps us return to ourselves so that we can be fully present in our day to day lives. This week's episode of Meet Me in Sacred Space takes us into the forest. Join me. Join the Community: https://loriaandrus.com/sink-in Meet Me in Sacred Space by Joining the Sanctuary Circle. Happy Beltane! Welcome to (almost) summer! Beltane is the Celtic festival honoring the height of spring and the beginning of summer marked with bonfires, maypoles, and feasting. The Stoned Witches get a lot high and talk about Beltane traditions, memories, and the time Chelle held Laylla's future love life in her hands. Will true love prevail? Will Laylla and her soul mate ever find each other?Twitter: @stonedwitchesInstagram: @stonedwitcheshourGmail: thestonedwitcheshour@gmail.com
Happy Beltane! Beltane is about celebrating all of the optimism, warm sun, and abundance of the earth's benefits for half of the year. Beltane is the period when spring is at its most vibrant. The fairies and nature spirits begin to reawaken at this time. We're still in the throes of the Solar Eclipse. Eclipses accelerate our timeline, delivering events that were bound to happen sooner or later. Things can move swiftly during an eclipse, and this is especially true this time because Uranus, the planet of surprises and unexpected changes, is active. This month's abrupt adjustments and transitions may make you feel uncomfortable. Spending time in nature and slowing down can help to balance out all of the fast-paced energy. Venus and Jupiter, the two positive planets, begin a new cycle on May 2 and May 10, respectively, when they both enter Aries. This is the start of a four-month period during which we will feel more confident and like ourselves than we have in a long time, if not ever. Prepare to kick butt and take name names while enjoying this empowering energy!
Happy Beltane! Today we will talk about the history, the correspondences, the rituals, the magic, the divination and the spell work that can be done on this cross quarter day. And of course, we will hear from the cats on what wisdom they have for us for the upcoming week.

Happy Halloween. Happy Samhain. And to my friends in the Southern Hemisphere, Happy Beltane. Ahh . . . 'tis the season for all things Crystal Balls. Magic Spells. Crystal Skulls. It's a time when magic is brewing. And a time to let your magic shine. It's also a great time to connect with our ancestors. I took a little time this afternoon to shake up my altar . . . to honor loved ones who've passed, to honor my lineage and the lineage of healers present during this time. This season, when the veils between worlds are thin, is a time to lean into and receive the wisdom of our ancestors. Ahh yes, our ancestors have much to share. This is a time when prayers are clearly heard and messages are clearly conveyed. Listen. With all of your senses, listen. Whisper your prayers. Share what is in your heart. Ask for guidance. Invite healing. Welcome love. Bring voice to your needs, concerns, wants, and desires. Express your gratitude. The ancestors are listening. They are here to support you. Lean in. Join me for this week's episode of the Crystal Shaman Life Podcast where I share both some Samhain thoughts and a prayer to the ancestors. Listen in. Back again with Witches of East End. This was honestly one of my favorite episodes to record yet. We had a great time messing around with the dialogue, swooning over bad ass Joanna, and taking some digs at Dash. Mix in a great time with a witch lawyer and it made for a highly entertaining/amazing episode. We finish it up with a deep dive on talismans because the show title demanded it. Its now just a couple days past Beltane, but Happy Beltane as well! Grab a refreshing spring potion or drink, open the windows, and come relax with us on the couch!

April and Jen embrace the month of May and an unpredictable Full SuperMoon in Scorpio! It’s a dramatic week in the skies, as Pluto scans for connections while turning retrograde, Mercury and Venus heed Neptune’s siren call, and the Sun pairs up with Uranus in a surprising spring bouquet. Plus: April’s first time on stage, magic beans, and… whoever thought the beginning of summer was May 1 surely didn’t live in Minneapolis! Wondering how to find meaning in the patterns of your life? Book a reading with April! Sign up for April's mailing list for updates, a free monthly lunar workbook, AND an email tutorial on the Lunar Phases! Follow Big Sky Astrology on IG, Twitter, and FB @BigSkyAstrology Read a full transcript of this episode. Episode links: 00:30 – Lady April and her pal Jen wish you all a Happy Beltane season! . 03:15 – **MOONWATCH ** This week’s dramatic Full Moon is at 7°06’ Scorpio (April 26/27) on the Sabian symbol “The Moon shining across a lake.” The Sun is in Taurus on “A sleigh without snow.” There is a gimungous T-square in this chart (Sun/Uranus/Venus/Mercury opposed Full Moon) which could be exciting, stressful, or both; all four will square Saturn. This Full Moon is connected to a New Moon from Oct 27, 2019; what story was happening for you then? This is the point in the cycle where more is revealed. (Of course, this is also connected to the New Moon in Aries from two weeks ago: Episode 76, Aries New Moon: An 8-Track Mind.) . 08:36 – The T-square from this Full Moon finds its release point in Leo. If you feel “off” or uncentered during this tense and unpredictable time, look for healthy ways to express yourself: paint, listen to music, write, have fun with friends, spend time with pets, or do something creative! Plus, look! Up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It’s Supermoon! . 12:31 – Pluto is unaspected and therefore prominent in the Full Moon chart, and turns retrograde at 26°48’ Capricorn (April 27) on the much-talked about symbol, “A mountain pilgrimage.” (Review Episode 76, Aries New Moon: An 8-Track Mind for more on that one!) How do you deal with downturns and reversals, after you’ve worked very hard to build something up? (We previously discussed Pluto retrograde on Episode 22, Taurus New Moon and Venus Gone Wild. And to review unaspected planets, listen to one of our most popular episodes, Episode 53, Our Taurus Full Moon Halloween Spooktacular!) . 16:16 – Mercury, at 22°21 Taurus, sextiles Neptune in Pisces (April 29/30). Venus, at 22°26 Taurus, then follows suit (May 2). The planets in the sign of the bull are on the symbol “A jewelry shop” while Neptune, in the sign of interconnectedness, is on “Spiritist phenomena.” These aspects speak to opportunities for our strongest talents and skills (Mercury) and our most valuable and attractive resources (Venus/Taurus) to be used in the service of others (Neptune). . 18:21 – The Sun conjuncts Uranus 10°40’ Taurus (April 30) on the Sabian symbol, “A woman sprinkling flowers.” This can be a good time for creative and unusual breakthroughs! Do take care though, dear listeners, as the symbol indicates use of water, and Uranus can be electric – wear your rubber gloves and avoid shocks, if at all possible! . 20:06 – Mercury trines Pluto (May 2) on the Sabian symbol for 27 Taurus, “An Indian woman selling beads.” Pluto sits on 27 Capricorn, “A mountain pilgrimage” (of course!!). Perhaps, if you’re doing your work with diligence and integrity, you will be connected to helpful and powerful people. . 23:52 – Do you love the BSA podcast? Please support the show (it’s free!) by giving us lots of stars, subscribing or following, and/or leaving a happy review – here’s how! This episode is made possible by donors CHRISTINE MARSDEN, HENRIETTA WINSTON, and JAMES BROPHY! Thank you, Christine, Henrietta, and James, for contributing to our Podathon! And if any other lovely listeners haven’t had the chance to donate, please toss $5 or more our way and we’ll send you an invitation to our upcoming special solstice/equinox episodes! Huzzah!
Happy Beltane! In this episode, we talk about the mythology behind this ancient holiday (May 1st) and dive much deeper into it's some of it's gender-focused symbolism and its emphasis on sex. This becomes a conversation about the importance of shadow work (relevant with Pluto recently turning retrograde until October) and how we can use existential kink — the art of finding comfort and even pleasure in uncomfortable moments —among other, more conventional practices, to focus our desires and superpower them with internal alignment, up-leveling our magickal and manifestation practices.
