In this episode of Unearthed, hosts Joe Cavatoni and John Reade, Senior Market Strategists at the World Gold Council, are joined by Allan Guild, Director at Hilltop Walk Consulting and long-time partner to the World Gold Council. Together, they explore a major innovation poised to reshape how gold is traded, owned, and integrated into global financial infrastructure: Wholesale Digital Gold and the introduction of Pooled Gold Interests (PGIs). Joe and John walk through the implications for market participants, from clearing banks and exchanges to ETF issuers and digital asset innovators. Allan also shares an update on the project's development, the upcoming pilot program in the London OTC market, and key milestones that will signal progress as PGIs move from concept to operational reality. Subscribe to Unearthed wherever you get your podcasts, and visit Goldhub.com for more insights on gold markets, innovation, and investment trends.   Notable Quotes “When we hear a lot about crypto and technology and digitization, there's not a lot being said about the gold market that's actually really changing. Maybe wholesale digital gold can fill that opportunity gap and bring us into a more modern era.” – Joe Cavatoni “Right now, you've got a universe of participants that support the gold market, but I'm hearing about a market that will allow those that may not have a full vault or custodian capability to be more active.” – Joe Cavatoni “We're seeing something like $250 billion of gold changing hands every day… so physical gold works. I'm interested to hear what wholesale digital gold can do to improve a market that's performing pretty well.” – John Reade “Gold is a unique asset with this combination of a physical market and a financial market. Wholesale digital gold can address the gaps that stop gold from being a top-tier financial asset in terms of its utility.” – Allan Guild “PGIs are uniquely positioned to power a future set of digital end-user products in the gold market.” – Allan Guild   About World Gold Council We are a membership organisation that champions the role gold plays as a strategic asset, shaping the future of a responsible and accessible gold supply chain. Why are our history books mostly silent when it comes to the ancient mounds of America and the anomalous artifacts and enigmatic entities that were unearthed inside them? As the early American pioneers expanded westward, they would often happen upon giant earthen mounds constructed with an ancient knowledge and mathematics that had withstood the ages of time. From the 1800s through the early 1900s, major publications like the Smithsonian and the New York Times published countless articles related to the discovery of large skeletons and strange artifacts that were unearthed from these mounds. Even President Abraham Lincoln wrote about "that species of extinct giant, whose bones fill the mounds of America." Why has this fascinating history been suppressed? JOIN ME ON A 2026 TOUR

Ancient Greek mythology tells of a daunting underground maze known as the labyrinth, which, according to legend, housed the fabled beast known as the minotaur. However, clues hidden in ancient writings through the centuries have suggested that there may be more to the tale than mere legend, and that there had in fact been more than one labyrinth that existed in the ancient world.  This week on The Micah Hanks Program, a remarkable new discovery in Crete has reinvigorated debate over the origins behind one of ancient Greece's most enduring legends, and it marks only the beginning of our search for answers to one of history's most enduring mysteries. Where were the locations of these massive underground complexes in antiquity, and could they indeed still exist into the present day?   Have you had a UFO/UAP sighting? Two years ago this week I was in Manhattan covering the Vision Zero Cities conference hosted by the great nonprofit Transportation Alternatives. At a panel discussion titled, Supersized SUVs, Mega Trucks, and Regulatory Failure, one of the speakers made me sit up and take notice: He railed against feckless leadership that wouldn't improve bus service, critiqued the "war on cars," called for higher taxes on large vehicles that are more prone to kill people, and spoke about traffic victims and transportation policy with the candor, clarity and conviction you'd expect from an activist. But this wasn't an activist. It was an elected official. He was a member of the state assembly named Zohran Mamdani. Yes, the same Mamdani who might very well be New York City's next mayor in a few weeks. This audio from that 2023 conference is a detailed view inside Mamdani's mind and it reveals how he approaches what are still some the most important road safety and transportation topics of the day.Links:BikePortland recap of this panel discussionMamdani campaign websitePlease support this work! On this episode: a historic Gaza peace deal lands with real-world moves today, including the release of all surviving Israeli hostages and a high-profile signing in Egypt as leaders roll out the next steps of a U.S.-brokered plan. We break down what was agreed to, what actually happened today, and what gets tricky in the next phases. Then, fresh headaches for Buckingham Palace as a newly surfaced 2011 email shows Prince Andrew telling Jeffrey Epstein “we are in this together,” raising new questions about Andrew's timeline. Finally, conservative media drama goes DEFCON 2 as coverage presses TPUSA's Erika Kirk on whether she'll respond to Candace Owens' latest claims and leaked texts. Known as the Monroe House, it's earned a reputation as one of the most haunted locations in the state, a place where strange voices echo through empty rooms and shadows seem to crawl just out of sight. For over seven years, Matt Benton and his team dug into the house's dark past—interviewing witnesses, capturing chilling evidence, and uncovering a discovery in the crawl space that feels pulled straight from a nightmare: ritualistic objects buried deep beneath the floor, as if the earth itself was trying to keep them hidden. Matt shares how seven years of relentless research and hundreds of hours of footage came together to tell the house's story—not just as a documentary, but as an immersive, dread-soaked experience designed to pull viewers inside the haunting itself.  This isn't just another ghost story. This is an invitation into one of America's most sinister hauntings—and a glimpse at what happens when something evil refuses to stay buried. Today on The Grave Talks, Evil Unearthed: The Monroe House, a conversation with Joe Vitale and Matt Benton. You've heard of “Soros DAs”—prosecutors, whose campaigns were financially backed by George and Alexander Soros, who seek election on promises not to prosecute. But the anti-criminal-justice movement is bigger than one eccentric progressive billionaire and his nepo-baby son. Today's guest, Sean Kennedy of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund, focuses on one previously hidden link in the anti-criminal-justice movement: The Wren Collective, a secretive donor and advocacy organization that worked with over 40 current and former non-prosecuting prosecutors, including such radicals as ousted San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin. On a weekend of south coast showdowns, Bournemouth were the only side to emerge with three points after seeing off Brighton & Hove Albion in a 2-1 victory at Dean Court. The disciplined showing against the Seagulls provided numerous talking points, but there was one player specifically who emerged with heaps of credit amongst the Cherries faithful. Veljko Milosavljević was thrown into the action, partnering Marcos Senesi at the back - and whilst both were exceptional, it was the 18 year old Serbian star that had the fanbase salivating at full time. Behind the doors of an isolated farmhouse on the outskirts of Plainfield, Wisconsin, a trove of macabre secrets were stashed out of sight of the locals that blurred the line between reality and nightmare. Unearthed in 1957, the world of quiet, shy farmer, Edward Theodore Gein, revealed a bizarre story of grave robbing, body parts fashioned into household items, and a fascination with death that was almost unparalleled in its depravity. A psychiatrist's examination stated plainly that, “The overall picture was not that of a well person,” which was, perhaps, one of the greatest understatements in medical and criminal history.SOURCES Schechter, Harold (1998) Deviant: The Shocking True Story of Ed Gein, Original Psycho.
