He talks about his views on zionism, the challenges in talking with white nationalists, and he makes the distinction between talking to respectable white nationalists like Jared Taylor versus the average skinhead.  Chad also mentions that he wants to become the next Alex Jones (this is in 2013 before Jones became fully evil). On this episode...I revisit "The Hate Project" episode 34 which originally aired on August 12th, 2013.  I have a great interview with D.K. Wilson, an African-American writer.  D.K. discusses how he wrote about racism in sports and found himself marginalized, blacklisted, and even threatened. He also talks about his own life including encountering racism at private school, being a tennis coach and a musician, and his experiences with paranormal activity which may be connected to his father's work in the government. Something that has stood out to me about this interview since 2013 is the fact that People of Color in this country suffer from Stockholm syndrome in relation to white people and white mainstream society, and it prohibits us from fully realizing our own humanity and realizing true liberation.  What do you think? On this episode...I have a great conversation with antifascist civil rights activist Daryle Lamont Jenkins, founder of One People's Project. Daryle is portrayed in the new film "Skin", currently playing in theaters and available on demand.  Daryle's name has also been mentioned by a few nazis and white supremacists that called into "The Hate Project", due to his work in directly confronting these hate groups. On this Episode...I have a one-on-one interview with Roman Rimer, who called in to the "Hate Project" a few times during its 2012-2013 run (you can hear him on POC episodes 5,9,14,20). Roman is a trans, queer community activist and performer based in the Bay Area, and he hosts a weekly radio show as well.  Roman and I reflect on how our views have changed in the last few years in regards to having peaceful dialogues with hate mongers, be they nazis or TERFS. Roman also discusses the worsening homelessness and wealth disparity problems in the Bay Area, and how they're connected to the presence of big tech companies but are also part of a long colonialist tradition. We also discuss how every major American "liberal" city is essentially a police state designed to protect the wealth of the wealthiest. CW: Hate speech/language, child molestation, sexual abuse I begin by talking about the past week (Oct 21-27 2018) of domestic terrorism from the #MAGABomber, the white supremacist murderer in Kentucky, and the anti-semitic massacre at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. Then, I revisit "The Hate Project, Ep. 16" which was broadcast on Christmas Eve 2012. I gave Martin Lindstedt, pastor in the Christian Identity movement, an uninterrupted interview. It's an often incoherent dialogue. Lindstedt describes his dysfunctional family background, embracing white supremacy in the Christian Identity movement, and the allegations against him as a child molester of his grandson. He specifically blames the state for stealing his grandchildren and family, and this serves as justification for wanting a civil war, and his welcoming of carnage and chaos in destroying our civilization as we know it.  This one is hard, because in trying to foster a real in-depth dialogue in order to understand hate and hate groups, it feels like I just gave a platform to a pedophile white supremacist without the value of edification. The CREATE Distinguished Speaker Series presents:   Rabbi Abraham Cooper “Digital Terrorism and Hate: Why the Bad Guys are Winning and What Twitter Should Be Doing About It” For the last 20 years, The Simon Wiesenthal Center Digital Terrorism and Hate Project has been tracking how extremist groups leverage internet technologies to promote their hateful and violent agenda. The Wiesenthal Center does not see legislation or other government intervention as playing the primary role in addressing this disturbing trend, but rather companies like Facebook and Twitter. A PowerPoint overview of our findings that point to pivotal role that social networking should but be but are not effectively playing in addressing the growing crisis.   Biography: Rabbi Abraham Cooper is the associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a leading Jewish human rights organization with over 400,000 family members. He has been a longtime activist for Jewish and human rights’ causes on five continents.    Since 1977, Rabbi Cooper has overseen the Wiesenthal Center’s international social action agenda and worldwide promotion of tolerance education. He is widely recognized as a pioneer and international authority on issues related to Digital Hate and Terrorism. Rabbi Cooper has interfaced with religious and political leaders in Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Myanmar, Japan, Philippines and India.  He has coordinated international conferences at UNESCO, Berlin, Geneva and multi-faith conferences on religion and terrorism in Bali and Mumbai.
