BT and Sal are live from Yankee Stadium on Opening Day, and this Yankee team feels different than past teams. The New York Yankees could be without Gerrit Cole for a couple of months or more, depending on how his doctor's appointment goes in Los Angeles on Thursday. Cole is seeing world-renowned sports surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the  Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. The doctor requested an in-person visit from Cole so they could do more tests after the initial MRI didn't diagnose a tear. Cole had an MRI, X-ray, and CT scan done. So, as Yankee fans hold their collective breath and wonder what's going on with Cole, the White Sox traded Dylan Cease to the San Diego Padres, and Drew Thorpe, who went to the Padres in the Juan Soto trade, is now heading to Chicago. So, cross Cease off the list for possible Cole replacements in case the news is bad. As for Cole's rotation mates, Carlos Rodón had a much better outing on Wednesday against the Red Sox. The World Baseball Classic rosters were announced on Friday and three Yankees will be participating: Kyle Higashioka, Nestor Cortes and Jonathan Loaisiga. I'm not worried about Higashioka participating. I'm somewhat worried about Cortes participating. I'm extremely worried about Loaisiga participating given his injury history.
