Hour 3
Send us a textIn this must-watch episode of "2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates," Drew and Rob tackle an action-packed lineup of Giants football news, NFL headlines, and the latest Giants news and rumors. The show kicks off with shocking developments around former New York Giants first-round pick Kadarius Toney. Toney, now a free agent, was cut by the Cleveland Browns after a disastrous game that included a costly taunting penalty and a crucial fumble, marking another disappointing chapter in his NFL career. The hosts then shift gears to cover a fiery interaction involving New York football legends, as Mark Gastineau confronted Brett Favre in a viral moment captured by ESPN. The confrontation stemmed from Favre's infamous "gimme" sack that allowed Michael Strahan to break Gastineau's single-season sack record. Brett's social media response provided insight into his side of the story, but the drama escalated when Terrell Owens chimed in, raising old allegations about Favre's involvement in misappropriated funds. The segment also touches on the ethical concerns of ESPN using Gastineau, who suffers from severe health issues, to promote their upcoming documentary, "The New York Sack Exchange." The conversation returns to Giants news as Drew and Rob discuss Seth Wickersham's report that Bill Belichick, once rumored as a potential coach for the Giants, dismissed the idea due to the challenges of rebuilding in New York's intense media environment. Belichick reportedly supports current head coach Brian Daboll, leaving Giants fans to wonder about the team's future direction. Next up, Drew and Rob preview the daunting Week 15 matchup between the Ravens and the Giants. With injuries plaguing the Giants' roster, including key contributors like Bobby Okereke and Deonte Banks, and the Ravens boasting an explosive offense, the odds are stacked against New York. The injury report and analysis paint a grim picture, but the hosts break down what needs to happen for the Giants to pull off an upset. The episode also dives into the latest Giants rumors surrounding the NFL Draft. ESPN's Field Yates projects the Giants selecting Shedeur Sanders, the star quarterback from Colorado, as their long-term answer under center. Meanwhile, rumors of Cam Ward potentially joining the Giants, as suggested by controversial figure Nevin Shapiro, have fans debating the reliability of the source and what the move could mean for the team. Closing out the episode, Drew and Rob share their Week 15 NFL picks, analyzing key matchups across the league while keeping a sharp focus on the Giants' situation. From roster challenges to draft speculation, this episode delivers everything a New York Giants fan needs to stay updated on Giants news today, NFL rumors, and the latest Giants football updates. Don't miss this in-depth discussion of all things Giants New York, as the hosts provide their unfiltered takes on the latest Giants news and rumors today, keeping fans informed and entertained.#giants #nygiants #nflSupport the showAll Episodes are shot LIVE with fan interactions on Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, & TwitchSponsor the show at: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/2giantgoofballsInterested in starting a podcast. In the final segment of the hour, Brandon Tierney has a lot of lingo for baseball stats. Hour 2 Gio was listening to C-Mac on the overnight talking about Bill Belichick and the UNC coaching job. Gio thinks Belichick is trying to get teams like the Giants to make a move before the season ends. By almost taking this job, it is going to make teams like the Giants make a move before the season ends. Boomer said the Giants would have to go through the Rooney Rule before they hire Belichick. Bill sent UNC a 400 page document on everything he wants to do there if he coaches at UNC. The Pacman Jones podcast had notorious Miami booster Nevin Shapiro on, and he said the Giants are drafting QB Cam Ward and hiring the OC to be head coach. Jerry returns for an update and starts with another ‘Chazz Jizzm' during MLB trade talk. Then the talk turned to the UFO/drones over NJ and Al is very annoyed that nobody seems to care and the FBI has no idea what it is. In the final segment of the hour, a listener sent Boomer a Precious Achiuwa jersey and Gio a JJ McCarthy jersey. Hour 3 Phil Simms joins us in his Wednesday spot and we started with the rift in the Eagles lockerroom between Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown. We also talked about Bill Belichick potentially going to UNC because NFL owners don't seem interested in him. Boomer asked Phil if he thought Bill would bring LT in to work with him. Phil does not. We also talked a lot about Sam Darnold's resurgence in Minnesota. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Nick Sirianni on WIP saying the Jalen Hurts/AJ Brown situation is being blown out of proportion. Aaron Rodgers thinks this could actually bring the Eagles team together. Kyle Shanahan talked about Deebo Samuel complaining about not getting the ball. In the final segment of the hour, Randy Moss is dealing with a health issue but he didn't say what it was, he was just explaining why he would be off TV. Larry Fitzgeral Sr, father of the NFL wide receiver, put out on X that Randy Moss has liver cancer. Hour 4 The Yankees and Mets are both interested in pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga. Suzyn Waldman was on with BT & Sal and said Steve Cohen is this generation's George Steinbrenner. Boomer said Juan Soto better win an MVP and World Series. Jerry returns for his final update of the day, but first he tells us he heard Elton John is broke. Gio thinks it must have been one of those links at the bottom of stories on the NY Post website. Aaron Rodgers was on with Pat McAfee and asked if they heard about the drones in NJ. Frank The Tank was furious with the Devils and Bruce Springsteen. The Moment of The Day: Joe Burrow's home burglarized and a hot model reports the crime. In the final segment of the hour, we wondered if the person who called the police from McDonald's will get the reward they deserve. She called Missouri's Medicaid helpline earlier this month but had to hang up after waiting on hold for 45 minutes, and she is unable to apply for other insurance until she is out of Medicaid limbo. “It feels like I'm doing motherhood wrong already, but it's out of my hands,” she said. “I'm at a loss. It's just a waiting game and that gives me anxiety.”Jim Torres, program manager for health insurance services at Samuel Rodgers Health Center in Kansas City, helped Kaplanis submit her application and has been checking its status. He said that he hasn't seen “any movement on her most recent application that was submitted on Dec. 4.” Kaplanis' struggles are not isolated. Missourians trying to enroll in or retain Medicaid — the government-run health insurance program for low-income Americans — report running headlong into the state's increasingly-strained system. Interviews with advocates, applicants, participants and experts reveal increased pressure on the state's capacity has intensified bureaucratic hurdles to accessing Medicaid, which include lost and missing paperwork, indecipherable state notices and marathon call center wait times.“I've been doing this with my organization for 10 years now,” said Saralyn Erwin, a marketplace and Medicaid coordinator at Northeast Missouri Health Council who assists with applications and renewals, “and this is the worst that I have seen it.” GOP Chair in Arizona Resigns After Evidence of bribe to Kari Lakehttps://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/24/us/politics/kari-lake-arizona-gop.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShareThe chairman of Arizona's Republican Party resigned abruptly on Wednesday, a day after the publication of a 10-minute recording of a conversation between himself and Kari Lake, a former nominee for governor, in which he appeared to offer a bribe to persuade Ms. Lake to drop her 2024 Senate campaign. In the recording, which was published by The Daily Mail, Jeff DeWit, the chairman, tells Ms. Lake that there are “very powerful people that want to keep you out” of the race, and suggests he is passing on a message from them. He says he had been told to ask her: “Is there any companies out there or something that could just put her on the payroll and give her — to keep her out?”Later in the conversation, which Mr. DeWit repeatedly urges Ms. Lake not to repeat to anyone, he starts to ask, “Is there a number at which — ” before Ms. Lake interrupts, saying “I can be bought?” He replies, “Not be bought,” but instead wait a few years before running.Ms. Lake brushed off the attempts, repeatedly telling Mr. DeWit that she was offended by the approach. “That's immoral — I couldn't look at myself in the mirror,” she says, according to the recording. The Colorado House GOP has a new leader… wonder why?https://coloradonewsline.com/briefs/house-republicans-rose-pugliese-minority-leader/Colorado House Republicans chose state Rep. Sue Cahill, D-Marshalltown, stood and led the room in singing the “The Star-Spangled Banner” during her closing comments.Cahill said she sang because “our Capitol is the perfect place to show patriotism,” but requiring the singing of the national anthem in school classrooms each day is not the best path forward as it would be “mandating patriotism for students.”“I think that's something students choose and it's something that they learn and they'll learn it in other ways,” Cahill said.House Study Bill 587 would require students and teachers at Iowa public schools to sing at least one verse of the national anthem every day, in addition to singing all four verses of the song on “patriotic occasions” as well as at school functions or school-sponsored activities as determined by the district. Students and teachers would not be required to sing along, but would be required to stand at attention, remain silent and remove non-religious head coverings as the anthem is being sung.Private schools would be exempt from this requirement.Allred Alright For Texas? https://theheartlandcollective.com/2024/01/24/analysis-colin-allreds-chances-of-unseating-ted-cruz/Can Allred win? Gio heard a story that Mark Gastineau threatened to beat up Brett Favre at an autograph signing for handing Michael Strahan the sack record. A caller said he has Gastineau's old Christmas tree. Gio said he bought a live tree and it cost him $300! Karen Carson and Johnny Mingione called in with an update on Dua Lipa coming on our show. Jerry returns for an update and starts with audio from last night's Cowboys win over the Seahawks. Dak Prescott talked about being blessed being the Cowboys QB. A goalie scored a goal for the Penguins last night. In the final segment of the hour, could Jim Harbaugh become available for an NFL team? Would he use the NFL as leverage to get another college coaching job? He is going to want total control of an NFL franchise. Maybe Chicago, where he played for the Bears? Gio thinks David Tepper of the Panthers will go nuts and offer Harbaugh a ton of money.
Hour 1 Last night the Cowboys/Seahawks game had a ton of offense and no points as the Cowboys won 41-35. But the story of the game was the amount of penalties called: 25 total called and 19 accepted for a total of 257 yards. The Niners go into Philadelphia this week in what is sure to be the game of the week. People will not believe in the Cowboys until they win playoff games. Jerry returns for an update but first Gio was in the city yesterday and saw Camila Cabello in a coffee shop. Nantz and Romo are off this week because they worked two games last weekend. Jerry thinks it's ‘soft' and thinks Tony Romo probably wanted the week off. Jerry has audio from last night's Cowboys win as Dak threw for 3 TDs. Mike McCarthy looks like a guy that would have GERD. Patrick Mahomes will play at Lambeau Field for the first time ever. Jerry finishes with energetic calls from the Devils and Islanders wins. In the final segment of the hour, Sports Illustrated named Deion Sanders their Sportsperson of The Year even though they are now 4-8. If not Deion, then who? Damar Hamlin maybe? Dak Prescott? Nikola Jokic? Hour 2 Aaron Rodgers said he understands the risk of coming back too early, but said it wouldn't be a problem because he would have time to rehab before next season. He also spent the entire day after being injured, crying. Gio said now there's no doubt he's coming back to play this s eason. The Jets only have a 0.9 % chance of making the playoffs. Rodgers was also answering phones in the Jets season tickets office this week. We also took calls on who should have been Sportsperson of The Year instead of Deion Sanders. Jerry returns for an update and starts with audio from last night's Cowboys win over the Seahawks. Dez Bryant is upset with Craig Carton after Craig said of Dak's girlfriend, he had to question if she's a ‘gold digger'. Tyreek Hill talked about his time in KC and said Mahomes was too close to Kelce but it sounds like he was sort of joking. In the final segment of the hour, when bacon is bad, it's really bad. Hour 3 Gio heard a story that Mark Gastineau threatened to beat up Brett Favre at an autograph signing for handing Michael Strahan the sack record. A caller said he has Gastineau's old Christmas tree. Gio said he bought a live tree and it cost him $300! Karen Carson and Johnny Mingione called in with an update on Dua Lipa coming on our show. Gio thinks David Tepper of the Panthers will go nuts and offer Harbaugh a ton of money. Hour 4 We are all going to miss Tommy DeVito this week with the Giants on a bye. Instead we get Tim Boyle against the Falcons at MetLife where the Jets are underdogs. If the Jets win, will Brandon Tierney have another ‘unkillable' moment? Joe Flacco may end up starting for the Browns this Sunday. Gio has a Mike Tyson story that includes the one impression he does of him. Jerry returns for a brief update including the Moment of The Day which involves Gio's love for Dua Lipa. We are then joined by Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International. We talked about the potential casino near Citi Field. In the final segment of the show, our NFL picks and Yussef was back!
