As Keegan Smith is apt to say, winning isn't everything – running your best is.Up next in our 2025 HOKA Festival of Miles series, we welcome one of the most dominant high school distance runners in the country: Keegan Smith, straight out of Tennessee. From the moment he laced up as a freshman, Keegan's been smashing records and turning heads. He opened his high school career by dropping a 14:53.79 5K — the fastest ever by a U.S. freshman in cross country — then lit up the track with a 4:14.63 mile and an 8:52.96 3,200m, both national freshman records.Fast forward to his senior year: Keegan clocked a blistering 14:23.26 at the Nike Cross Southeast Regional, breaking the Tennessee state record and proving he's still leveling up. He closed out his high school XC career with wins at NXR Southeast and Foot Locker South, and shattered three all-time course records along the way.His PRs speak for themselves: he has run 1:51.93 in 800m; 3:55.64 in the 1500m; 4:11.90 in the mile; 8:54.97 in the two-mile; and 14:23.26 in the 5,000m in cross country. The longer the race, the stronger he gets. Now committed to the University of Colorado, Keegan's taking his talent to one of the top distance programs in the nation. And with NIL deals already in place with HOKA and Precision Fuel & Hydration, he's not just running fast — he's building a brand. In today's conversation, Keegan shares behind-the-scenes stories from my marathon (lol), what it was like to run a local race, his breakdown of XC postseason, why his XC season was so meaningful to him, running a 4:04 Mile while being injured, his ambitions for the outdoor track season, and racing the 2025 HOKA Festival of Miles meet. In this week's podcast with Zach Mobius, we discussed what are the key things we should focus on as business owners for better customer experience. It does not matter if you're the most knowledgeable person in your field. If you throw all that information at your audience and ask them to do the work of sorting through it, your business will fail because most people won't be able to do that work. It's important to do that work for the customer. The way to get your message across is to remove all the fluff and drill things down to the very basics, the core of what your audience needs to know!
Will the next generation of NFT's be about building and owning your online avatars?Zach and Keegan go deeper on NFT's for customer loyalty and earning upgrades to your token. The second layer could be either lost with inactivity or kept as a permanent record to be used whenever actions take place that are relevant to the NFT.Zach Mobius Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/zachmobius/?hl=enUncommon Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/uncommon_success/?hl=enUncommon Program: https://uncommonsuccesseducation.com/home
In this episode, Dr. Will and Anthony talk to Keegan Smith, the cofounder of ATG for coaches, long-time athletic coach for professional rugby, and overall intelligent, innovative mind who is tackling the problems of the strength training world. If you have any interest in exploring the truth outside of the box of popular beliefs about the body and training, then this is the podcast for you. We're on a mission for TRUTH in biomechanics and training the human system, and every episode will dive deep into that. All episodes are recorded live on No Filter Network, an interactive platform that allows viewers to ask questions, and even 'knock' to join the stream live in real time. I put theory into TEST to find out what works and what doesn't. The Bruce Lee quote “take whats useful and disregard the rest” is how I find movement truth. The ultimate truth is in the movement not the theory, it has to work in reality. Now Running/Gait mechanics and martial arts (especially boxing) is how I test truth in movement; theory is always put to the test! From my teenage years into my late 20s, I spent significant time within mainstream fitness practices such as Crossfit, powerlifting, Olympic lifting, gymnastics, and bodybuilding, not in that particular order. I have also spent time playing soccer, boxing, skiing amongst other sports. Having stacked many injuries in my teens/20s from improper training, I was led on a journey into chiropractic and sports injuries. I have worked with 1000s of injured patients in 8 years of chiropractic practice and have seen many injuries in the gym as a former Crossfit coach for 5 years. I've now spent 1000's of hours learning and practicing systems such as Functional Range Conditioning, Weckmethod and Goata. Goata has my interest at the moment, as I see it as a platform for a new Paradigm in movement. I believe we (Experts) are using incorrect maps of movement, therefore injuries are prevalent in sport and life. I will always test and retest in my own theories in real movement. Join me on my journey to change the movement game for the public and experts." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-art-of-move/message

Zach and I have both decided to go all-in on understanding how the next generation of technology will change our businesses. This is the first in a series explaining our current understanding and application of the technology.NFT's are confusing until it starts to make sense. Then you won't be able to see anything but how NFT's are going to transform the world. You might have had this experience with understanding real money... Fiat Vs BTC and metals. This is the same but bigger because it's not how we store value and invest but how we interrelate and create value!

Furthermore, he's coached the World Championship Rugby Team the Sydney Roosters in 2013 which included Sonny Bill Williams (the world's highest paid rugby player). On this weeks podcast he gives us his thoughts on why Ground up training is so effective, why the knees over toes guy has struck a cord and why we should all pay attention to it. He's a Coach's coach, pulling from his years in elite sport and also his desire to extend the competitive life of any individual. Hot off the press and for anyone who wants to understand the forefront of fitness in 2021!
Pain, Tension, Muscle Effort...We can complete the movement... great but as what cost in tissue strain or neurological effort.Pogo jumps take very little EFFORT but create massive TENSION... but PAIN is the main thing that we need to be aware of...Starting out with less than 2/5 pain and having that pain decrease throughout an exercise or a training session could be a good indicator that training is moving in the right direction.Check the video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/LhOf7xG1eZs
How will the world be training 5 years from now? What will gyms look like? What can we learn from CrossFit - 14,000 gyms and free/cheap online training... How big is the market for Human Ability? What's different about ATG? What was Charles Poliquin's Biggest Secret?
ATG Principle #3Every Performance Has An Ideal Body Composition...... and the coach who can get their athletes to IDEAL fastest and best will be the winner! In all our TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT should we not look to regain the HUMAN ABILITY that got us here as the species we are today?
What is short-range strength? Why is it important? How can we use it best within sessions and within a training cycle?Join Keegan in today's episode and found out!
ATG Principle #2TENSION is the key variable we are manipulating. We can create it with heavy loads moving slow or fast... Or with light loads moving fast...Being in SHORT or LONG Range when the tension is created determines the risk of injury and the type of adaptations that will result! It's all tension training... this concept helps end the distinction between "Field & Gym" for athletes... it's all tension... the relative tendon, muscle, neural load can be calculated / estimated based on the positions and rates of loading.Progressing tension in the direction that is needed goes beyond BAR VELOCITY to focus on the internal adaptations rather than the external stimulus. What do you think? What would you add / change about this principle?
What role is the connective tissue playing in the lift? The results of training are dramatically impacted by the range that is selected.Athletic Range is a new paradigm in athletic development that encourages coaches and athletes to reconsider the connective tissue contribution to strength.Short & Long manipulation does show up in some bodybuilding programs and I think it's the bodybuilders who tend to use the principle best. Bringing this idea to the athletic world and taking it another step further has created a revolution where tens of thousands of coaches are reconsidering their programs and hundreds of thousands of people have changed the way they train legs...This is only the beginning! Every muscle can be better developed with Athletic Range Strength.I know there are people much smarter than me tuning in here... I'd love to hear your thoughts and what I'm missing.

Why? How much? How long? Who teaches it? What are the tests? Insurance? CrossFit? Joe Rogan? Fast Track...
