The trading day doesn't start at the bell—it starts with the data. In this episode of The European Market Brief, Mark Longo heads across the pond to dive deep into the mechanics of the European rates market. He is joined by an expert panel featuring Dr. Russell Rhoads (Indiana University), Rex Jones (Eurex), and Mingyue Xin (Deutsche Bank) to break down one of the most critical yet misunderstood periods in the derivatives calendar: The Roll. Inside this episode: The "Jelly Roll" Debate: Why the transition from March to June is a "subculture" unto itself in the rates market. The Art & Science of the Roll: Finding the "sweet spot" for execution and avoiding the pitfalls of being a late roller. US vs. EU Rates: Structural differences in delivery dates and how they impact your portfolio. Basis Trading 101: Why hedge funds are fixated on the basis trade and how to understand "Net Basis." Cheapest to Deliver (CTD): Understanding the delivery basket and the conversion factor for Bund, Bobl, and Schatz. U.S. consumers looking for the least expensive new vehicle option are facing both bad and good news. The bad news is that the U.S. market no longer has a new vehicle with an average MSRP below $20,000. According to Kelley Blue Book, the all-but-gone Mitsubishi Mirage was the last hope. The good news is that the new cheapest car, the Nissan Versa, carries a fairly reasonable MSRP of $22,315. But the other bad news is that the Versa is dead.As Kelley points out, Nissan reportedly ended production of the Versa in December. Josh Clifton, senior product communications manager for the automaker, revealed to The Drive that the Versa died so Nissan's product strategy could live.#CarPrices, #AutoIndustry, #NissanVersa, #MitsubishiMirage, #KelleyBlueBook, #CoxAutomotive, #CarMarket, #NewCars, #AffordableCars, #AutomotiveNews, #CarBuyers, #CompactSUV, #VehicleMSRP, #CarInflation, #AutoTrends

Booking your first African safari can feel overwhelming — especially for American hunters navigating different countries, pricing structures, and hunting styles. In this solo episode of PH Journals, professional hunter Anri Steyn shares a practical first-timer checklist covering what to ask, what to avoid, and how to book Africa the right way. If you're planning your first safari, listen in — and share this episode with someone dreaming of Africa.
For many American hunters, an African safari is a lifelong dream — and also one of the most confusing hunts to book. With different countries, provinces, hunting styles, pricing structures, and promises, it's easy to feel overwhelmed before you even ask the right questions. In this solo episode of PH Journals, professional hunter Anri Steyn breaks down a practical first-time safari checklist specifically for US hunters looking to book Africa. This episode covers what most outfitters don't explain upfront: how daily rates and trophy fees really work, why choosing the right professional hunter matters more than choosing species, how to spot red flags in marketing, and what questions you should ask before sending a deposit. This is not a sales pitch — it's an honest guide to help first-time African safari clients slow down, understand the process, and book a hunt that matches their expectations, ethics, and experience level. Whether Africa is your first international hunt or the start of many more, this episode will help you book it right the first time.

The housing crisis has seen people finding it increasingly hard to rent or buy a house in Australia's capital cities. But while most of the country has seen prices going up there's one place where prices have gone down - and that's Melbourne, where rental prices have gone down almost two percent year on year. SBS's Cameron Carr spoke to Dr Nicola Powell from Domain, to find out what's driving down prices.
Peter Boockvar, Chief Investment Officer at One Point BFG Wealth Partners and author of The Boock Report, sees "bells ringing" on the AI tech trade with Oracle, CoreWeave, and Nvidia showing tiredness, and warns the question is whether the baton can be passed to other sectors without the market falling apart. His three favorite groups for 2026 are energy (where $60 oil is "one of the cheapest assets in the world" and he sees $70+ minimum), agriculture (fertilizer stocks like Mosaic and Nutrient), and beaten-down consumer staples offering "bond-like dividend yields with equity-like upside." On Venezuela, he disagrees with the oil-for-midterms thesis - it's really about stiff-arming China, Russia, and Iran, and won't impact oil supply for 5-10 years anyway. He's been trimming silver after its vertical move toward $100 but still likes gold driven by central bank buying and dollar diversification. His biggest concern: if we lose the AI trade, its dominance is so large it could take everything down with it.This episode is brought to you by VanEck. In this episode, Spencer Ward breaks down why being the cheapest option in your market is actually the fastest way to go broke. Too many business owners start out thinking low prices will attract customers — but without knowing their numbers, they end up losing money on every job. Spencer uses a powerful boat analogy to explain how chasing cheap work is like drilling more holes in your boat instead of plugging the one that's already there. He shares insights from Mike Campion, Alex Hormozi, Tony Robbins, Patrick Bet-David, and Carl Allen — along with real-world lessons from over a decade of running profitable service companies across Idaho. If you want to build a business that lasts (and actually pays you), this episode will help you: ✅ Understand your numbers and cost per labor hour ✅ Stop competing on price and start competing on value ✅ Charge what you're worth and still grow your customer base ✅ Build a brand that's sustainable, not cheap If you are feeling the love, make sure to subscribe, rate, and review on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, or wherever you are!! In this episode, I give you a transparent, behind-the-scenes look at a major strategic shift at Membership Academy: why I decided to discontinue our lowest-priced membership tier.I dive deep into the challenges, member feedback, and business data that informed this big decision.I share the lessons learned, the impact on our community and sales, and why simplifying our offerings makes more sense for both our members and our business as we move forward. If you're considering multiple membership tiers, or are curious about evolving your pricing strategy, this episode unpacks it all.In this episode:What prompted the initial move to a two-tier membership strategy at Membership Academy, and what were those tiers? What unexpected challenges and downsides did introducing a lower-priced tier create for both the business and members? How did having multiple tiers affect member retention, sales performance, and customer experience over time? Why did I ultimately decide to revert to a single-tier membership, and how was this transition communicated to existing members?Key Quotes & Takeaways:"They join on the lesser membership tier so they don't get all the great things that will ensure that they are as successful as they can be. And then they look at their membership and say, oh, well, I haven't had the success I wanted, so why would I upgrade?""As the membership industry, and indeed the online education industry, changes and evolves, with the proliferation of AI, with the shift away from search engines to answer engines that are powered by AI, as all these new challenges face us coming into the next five, ten years and beyond, then memberships are going to need an entirely different level, an entirely different kind of support.""But what it's done is it's created that clarity, it's removed that friction, it's taking confusion out of the joining process because a confused mind doesn't buy.""Making that pivot, making that change has been a big decision, but a one that I'm extremely confident is the right one for where we want to take the academy going forward."Thank You For ListeningWe really appreciate you choosing to listen to us and for supporting the podcast.
