What a fun episode talking to Ben. Our youngest guest yet. His experience and enthusiasm is great to listen to. He also shares his story about how he came about starting his apprenticeship at Porsche Centre Perth, and how the management there couldn't believe he bought his Porsche 911 964, and we speculate that he might be the youngest owner of such a car that we have heard of. Plenty of all round car banter. Enjoy our repartee, and share with like minded enthusiasts please. Follow the channel, and leave a review on iTunes. It would mean a lot to us. Have a great drive today. Marc & Simon.

This episode shares the vast experience of ownership of Mark Coulson. He may well have a bigger problem than Simon, when it comes to buying on a whim. Marc & Simon talk about their week that was, then all three review the first 25 cars on AutoCar magazine's top 50 cars you must drive before you die. You might be surprised at how many of these cars have a story from one or all of them, in some fashion or another. Special thanks to Calneggia Family Vineyards for sponsoring another episode. "Often at a big company there's not that culture of trying new ideas. But if you imbrace innovation, fail fast during the effort and you learn from it, that could be the next great big success. So it's really, really important from a cultural perspective to think more entrepreneurial, to take more risks and then to celebrate those successes along with those failures.".... Show Notes and Marc Quotes "The PGA Merchandise Show really focuses on three different areas: The one to one connections, some kind of marketplace for exhibitors, being able to showcase their goods and services and then the educational piece and then trying to improve those elements through time, while also offering something experiential to keep people connected and engaged." "COVIID forced us to be more entrepreneurial while a lot of times big corporations are not. We definitely had to think fast and we definitely had to take a lot more risk and not be afraid to fail." PGA of America and PGA Golf Exhibitions Provide Update on 2022 In-Person PGA Show Enhancements PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (August 19, 2021) PGA Golf Exhibitions, in partnership with the PGA of America, is progressing with previously announced PGA Show initiatives to refresh and grow the 69th annual flagship event, January 25-28 2022 in Orlando. Event and programming enhancements focus specifically on powering face-to-face business connections, spotlighting innovations and prioritizing product experiential education, sourcing and transactions. PGA Golf Exhibitions and the PGA of America will continue to closely monitor and implement health and safety standards, based on CDC guidelines, local public health guidance and host venue protocols, to support a safe and comfortable experience at the 2022 PGA Show. “With feedback from industry stakeholders, we are reimagining various aspects of the PGA Show to build the businesses of exhibitors and attendees through programs which will enhance product experiences and learning, buying opportunities and face-to-face connections,” said PGA Golf Exhibitions Vice President Marc Simon. “Following the successful conclusion of the recent in-person buying and education summit held Aug. 9-10 in Las Vegas, we are optimistic about providing an elevated PGA Show experience while prioritizing the health and well-being of our guests. We look forward to an exciting 2022 PGA Show where the golf industry reunites, celebrates rising consumer engagement and works together for the continued growth of golf.” Current enhancements planned for the 2022 PGA Show include: • Creating a new PGA of America Hub on the Show Floor inside the main Central Lobby entrance of the Orange County Convention Center. Attendees will enter to a full-scale golf activation area featuring a PGA Frisco 2022 Opening preview; “Make Golf Your Thing” campaign programming; PGA Professional coaching demonstrations; golf industry programs; a PGA Professional lounge; PGA Career Services and activations for Association initiatives and business partners. • Reimagining the Equipment Test Center to feature technology enhancements on the indoor driving range, while relocating the practice putting green and the former short game test area nearby the Equipment Test Center to create one centralized golf product testing and experiential space. • Emphasizing clubfitting education during the event's traditional demo day, in partnership with PGA Magazine. Clubfitting programming, education, vendors and range-side content will be added, and the event will move forward with the new name of PGA Show Demo and Fitting Day, the world's largest professional demo and fitting education event. • Re-organizing educational offerings, in partnership with the PGA of America and the Association of Golf Merchandisers, to prioritize PGA Professional and golf buyer time with exhibitors during Show floor hours. The 2022 educational programs will be scheduled with less overlap during Show Floor hours, and most Show Week education programs will be available virtually after the event. • Implementing enhanced sustainability measures with the host facility and service vendors, reducing the Show's carbon footprint, and highlighting industry and exhibitor sustainability initiatives. - Relocating the fashion buyer lounge, and the annual fashion show, to a more prominent Apparel Hall setting for easy access to peer meetings and networking. • Enhancing technology access on site and integrating digital platforms to positively impact product discovery, testing and purchasing, educational access, registration and planning/logistics. • Continuing the focus on health and well-being practices during all PGA Show Week events. Exhibitor participation is on track with the 2020 in-person PGA Show and media partners of the PGA Show and the PGA of America are set to return to the PGA Show Floor. Additionally, attendees can expect a return of popular PGA Show partners, pavilions, and programming, including the AGM Golf Retail Conference, NGCOA Golf Business Conference, PGA Member Business Center, New Product Zone, Inventors Spotlight exhibitor pavilion, live fashion show, golf travel pavilion, Adaptive Golf Center and the TPI Golf Fitness, Wellness & Instruction pavilion and stage. Additional details on enhancements will continue to be announced leading up to the 2022 PGA Show. Event details and early registration information is available at www.PGAShow.com. In his address to the IIEA, Joan Marc Simon argues that the EU needs to adopt a multidimensional approach to tackle Europe's waste problem. He proposes that EU policymakers will need to replace half a century of legislation and economic incentives favouring disposability with a new paradigm in resource management if Europe is to achieve a circular future. Mr Simon argues that Europe needs a socio-economic system that is healthy for people, rebuilds natural capital, and generates local economic activity rooted in the community. To realise this vision, he concludes that coordinated and integrated EU policymaking will be essential to change packaging, chemical, and food policies, and lay the foundations of a circular, healthier, and fairer society. About the Speaker: Joan Marc Simon is the Executive Director of Zero Waste Europe, a Brussels-based NGO that operates as a knowledge network and advocacy group. It works with 400 municipalities in 24 countries, with the mission of redesigning our relationship with resources. Mr Simon is a member of the Steering Committee of the Break Free from Plastic movement. He is the author of many influential articles, such as the ‘Zero Waste Masterplan for Cities' and several books, including ‘Zero Waste – How to Reactivate the Economy Without Trashing the planet' and ‘It's Plastic, Stupid!'. Mr Simon has a background in economics and considerable experience of working with governmental and non-governmental organisations in the field of good governance, new economics, social justice, and the environment.

It’s become commonplace to open up our weekly email from ASI and PPAI these days and see some news about industry consolidation, whether it’s a supplier buying another supplier or a distributor joining forces with another distributor. On Jan 29, it was announced that Halo had acquired Axis Promotions, the well known distributor agency based in midtown Manhattan. While these announcements are no longer surprising, the rate of consolidation is unique to this time in the industry and that’s part of what we want to explore in this conversation. On our program today, we welcome Larry Cohen, CEO of Axis Promotions and Marc Simon, CEO of Halo. And while Johanna is a co-host, she’s doing double duty today as she’s also an employee at Axis, heading up their Chicago office.
The first 40 minutes of “Ariel” make this seem like the most generically, palatable episode of Firefly. It’s a fun but simple heist episode. Then comes the twist. The ending gives us a deeper look at what motivates and drives the characters of Malcolm Reynolds and Jayne. We talk about keelhauling a crew member and a touching way of asking for forgiveness after betraying the crew. Following an incident in which River attacks him, Jayne demands that she and Simon be left on Ariel. Mal quashes any talk of leaving people behind, but privately warns Simon that River has to be kept under control. Simon acknowledges that his sister is getting worse. Mikey - Simon approaches the crew with a job: he wants to get into the hospital in Ariel's capital city in order to scan River's brain with an advanced piece of medical equipment, and he needs the crew to get him inside. As payment, he will tell the crew how to steal valuable medical supplies undetected (they will be replaced automatically by hospital machines). Marc - Simon drugs himself and River so they appear dead, allowing the crew to enter Ariel city's hospital using a scrapped medical shuttle they refurbish and fake EMT IDs. The group then split up, with Jayne guarding Simon as he analyses River's condition while Mal and Zoe steal drugs from the hospital. However, Jayne betrays the Tams, placing a call to an Alliance officer who agrees to pay their bounty. Mikey - Once awakened, Simon dresses as a doctor and takes River to the diagnostic ward with Jayne. There, Simon discovers that River's brain has been surgically operated on many times, disabling her ability to suppress emotions. With the analysis complete, Jayne leads them to a rear entrance, where they are arrested by Federal marshals, Jayne included, the Alliance officer deciding to keep the reward money for himself. Meanwhile, Mal and Zoe return to the medical shuttle with the loot, but realize that Jayne and the Tams are late so head back into the hospital to find them. Marc - The three prisoners are moved to a holding area where Jayne and Simon overpower their escorts and escape. Shortly afterwards, two blue-gloved men arrive to take custody of the Tams, using a mysterious sonic device to kill all the marshals when the pair learn that some of them talked to the Tams. Meanwhile, a terrified River leads Jayne and Simon to a locked door, which is opened from the other side by Mal and Zoe, enabling the group to escape. Mikey - Inara returns to Serenity just as the medical shuttle arrives. Once everyone else has left the cargo area, Mal knocks Jayne out. Jayne awakens to find himself in an open airlock as the ship begins to leave the atmosphere. Jayne eventually confesses that he betrayed Simon and River, but denies double crossing Mal. Mal tells him that what he did was the same as betraying him. As Mal turns to leave, Jayne asks him not to tell his shipmates about the betrayal. Mal closes the outer door, sparing Jayne's life. Chris Ruvo talks with the 2019 Counselor Person of the Year about acquisition strategy, his business influences and the keys to smart negotiations.
Zero Waste starts with good design, obviously. So we sat in the hallway of a design college and started talking. There is a lot to learn from Joan Marc’s journey in economics, lobbying, advocacy and activism. Catching him on his last day of vacation was a great way to take perspective on his career so far and on what's next. His organisation Zero Waste Europe has achieved a lot and made a meaningful contribution to how cities will manage their material streams from now on.

Foreign policy rivals the economy as an issue of deep concern to voters in 2016 – even as character issues seem to dominate media coverage of the campaign. Dr. Marc Simon and Dr. Neil Englehart assess the considerable differences between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on a range of issues. ISIS, immigration, international trade, Syria and the future of NATO are among the key foreign policy issues on which the two major-party nominees differ. Clinton and Trump’s foreign policy positions are contrasted with one another as well as with the foreign policy of President Obama.
Join me as I have a man who's experienced more in his life than all of us put together!! Drew Rose was the singer of the 80's metal band Wildside who were the last band off the Strip to get a big deal before The Grunge Pac Man came along! Wildside was an American Rock/Metal band created in 1988 by founders Brent Woods, Drew Hannah, Benny Rhynedance. Originally called "Young Gunns", the 5 piece lineup included Drew Hannah (vocals), Brent Woods (lead guitar), Benny Rhynedance (rhythm guitar), Marc Simon (bass guitar), Jimmy D. (drums). The group played the clubs of Hollywood from 1988 thru 1990 when they were signed to Capitol Records under the charge of Hale Milgram. Slated to be "the next big thing" by the label, they immediately began recording their album. The band chose Van Halen Producer, Andy Johns to create their record. Recorded at Eddie Van Halen's home studio, Wildside was historically the first outsiders to use the famed "5150" recording studio. After a 1992 release of "Under The Influence",[1] and 2 years of solid touring, music was making a big change and Wildside was caught in the middle of it. Capitol Records was making changes to their lineup and both the label and the band agreed it was time to part. In 1994 a second album would be released under an independent label without Guitarist, Woods. Woods went on to join the Vince Neil project.
