Here in Canada, we have a food security crisis—and a cost-of-living crisis. While there are many, many factors that are shaping this continued issue across the country, one of the challenges of navigating food insecurity here is that we rely primarily on non-profit food banks to support those in need. One non-profit food organization in Toronto, Daily Bread, is on a mission to eliminate food insecurity and advocate for solutions to end poverty. Daily Bread prepares over 250,000 meals annually, including more than 43,000 heat-and-eat meals delivered through the Red Cross Mobile Food bank to individuals facing barriers like mobility challenges, inadequate housing, or mental health conditions that make traditional food access difficult.  In 2024, Toronto food bank visits hit an all time high of 4.1 million, and Toronto declared a state of emergency about food insecurity. In response, Daily Bread has seen their visits increase, with their Food Services Manager Michael Greenberg overseeing a kitchen that produced more than 270,000 meals between 2024-2025. Mike is on the show today to speak about the work he and his team do at Daily Bread to ensure that their food bank kitchen can logistically maintain itself with such high demands, the nutritional and social impact of food insecurity for clients who cannot prepare their own meals, and the vital role food banks play in advancing equity and dignity in food access. It's getting ugly. The Giants dropped their fifth straight, falling 27-20 to the Green Bay Packers — and you could barely tell it was a home game. MetLife Stadium was covered in green and gold, echoing with “Go Pack Go” chants while Big Blue looked more like Big Bruised. With Jaxson Dart still sidelined in concussion protocol, veteran Jameis Winston started and delivered the full Winston experience: 237 yards, 2 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and a few “what was that?” throws mixed in. The offense moved in bursts, the defense bent until it snapped, and the post-game boos weren't from visitors — they were from whatever Giants fans stuck around to the end.Off the field, rookie running back Cam Skattebo found himself right back in the headlines. Out for the season with a serious ankle injury, he was spotted ringside at Monday Night Raw with teammates Abdul Carter and Roy Robertson-Harris, and the New York media lost its mind. WFAN's Brandon Tierney, ESPN's Mike Greenberg, and New York Post's Ryan Dunleavy all slammed him for “showboating while hurt.” Skattebo fired back on social media, saying he's “rehabbing every day” and “not sitting home miserable just to make talk-show hosts happy.” Whether you love it or hate it, at least the kid's got some fight in him — something the rest of this roster could use.Now the Giants head to Detroit for a Sunday 1 p.m. clash with the 6-4 Lions, and it's starting to feel like every week's another trip to the gallows. The Lions can score in bunches with Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jahmyr Gibbs lighting it up behind a nasty offensive line. Meanwhile, the Giants haven't won a road game since Week 5 of last season in Seattle — yeah, it's been that long. If they want to prove they're still fighting, this is the week to show it. Pomp will be hosting our Pitt pregame coverage on Saturday and he said his wife, Lisa, a proud Duquesne alum, isn't happy about the point spread right now. Once Pomp brought up Rib Fest, the guys asked about Edmund Nelson, but Pomp promised that the infamous graphic from a Steelers preseason game. Pomp broke down the Steelers schedule and gave his prediction on the season. Would the Steelers run it back with Aaron Rodgers if he and the team have success in 2025? Pitt's over/under is 6.5 wins in 2025 and Pomp said he would take the over. Bob also likes the over for Penn State, which is sitting at 10.5 this season. Pomp gave Keegan Bradley his flowers for not picking himself for the Ryder Cup team. The guys asked Pomp what games we would get besides the Steelers-Jets matchup on our TVs in Week 1. In this episode, Rob & DT discuss this hectic week for The Mafia that saw Brandon Beane & James Cook finally resolve his contract dispute as they look forward to Preseason game #2 in the Windy City this Sunday night.Rob thought all along that the Cook deal would get done and he explains why Beane's comments post extension support his line of thinking about the entire situation.Who blinked 1st and does it really even matter at the end of the day? Cook is back on a relatively reasonable deal and 17 gets to keep another weapon heading into this crucial '25 season. The injury bug is still biting the team but there are signs that it may be finally coming to an end, and not a moment too soon. Mike Greenberg of ESPN put some Josh Allen stats out last night that almost made Rob's Bills brain fall out of his head. DT attempts to put it all into context as it is now a proven fact that our QB1 is the best QB to have never started a SB game.
