Yes, we do explain the ending. Spooktober continues as we discuss the second The Simpsons Halloween special Treehouse of Horror II. Then Indy previews his Spooktober pick, the divisive 2018 psychological horror film Hereditary.   I Love This You Should Too is hosted by Samantha & Indy Randhawa   "Treehouse of Horror II" is the seventh episode of the third season of the American animated television series The Simpsons. It first aired on Fox in the United States on October 31, 1991. It is the second annual Treehouse of Horror episode, consisting of three self-contained segments, told as dreams of Lisa, Bart and Homer and is the only Treehouse of Horror episode to date where each segment name is not stated inside the episode. In the first segment, which was inspired by W. W. Jacobs's short story The Monkey's Paw and The Twilight Zone episode "A Small Talent for War", Homer buys a Monkey's Paw that has the power to grant wishes, although all the wishes backfire. In the second part, which parodies the Twilight Zone episode "It's a Good Life", Bart is omnipotent, and turns Homer into a jack-in-the-box, resulting in the two spending more time together. In the final segment, Mr. Burns attempts to use Homer's brain to power a giant robotic laborer.   Hereditary is a 2018 American psychological horror film written and directed by Ari Aster in his feature directorial debut. Starring Toni Collette, Alex Wolff, Milly Shapiro, Ann Dowd, and Gabriel Byrne, the film follows a grieving family tormented by sinister occurrences after the death of their secretive grandmother. On our latest episode, we're talking about the instantly iconic A24 horror, a.k.a. the project that kickstarted Ari Aster's career. With miniatures that will make your jaw drop, visuals so upsetting you won't be able to look away, and Toni Collette screaming about that face on your face, this flick has everything, and we do mean everything. After attending the American Film Institute and receiving critical acclaim for a pair of short films he wrote and directed, Ari Aster was suddenly getting opportunities in Hollywood but after several feature length scripts got rejected, he decided to turn his attention back to horror — a genre he loved growing up but fundamentally avoided with his writing despite constantly focusing on bleak and dreary material. What started as a film centered around a family tragedy and the trauma involved with the aftermath of a sudden death eventually transformed into what Aster called a “full bore nightmare.” The film eventually landed at A24, a studio famous for backing projects that don't fit into any easily described categories. The finished product delivered exactly what Aster promised as a family spirals into a pit of despair and they're soon visited by a malevolent force with the cruelest intentions in mind…In the latest episode of Rewind of the Living Dead, we're going to stick our heads out the window and swerve to miss the roadkill as we review the 2018 film “Hereditary”…Music courtesy of Andrew Scott Bell

There's no wrong way to grieve, but there certainly is an unhealthy way. Say… calling on the power of demons/unknown cosmic forces to bring the dead back to life only to have them go on a murder spree. That's pretty unhealthy, don't you think? The Cadaver Dogs take a trip to the afterlife in this episode as they walk through the many examples of grief in two horror film staples. First up is the original Ari Aster movie HEREDITARY (starring Toni Colette, Gabriel Byrne, Milly Shapiro, Alex Wolff, and indie film bae Ann Dowd.) We tackle the origins of the demon Paimon, voyeurism through filmmaking, misconceived spiritualism, and the concept of tragedy. Then, we take a not so big leap to Mary Lambert's PET SEMETARY (1989) adapted from Stephen King's novel. The dogs offer a fresh perspective on industrialism, gender representation of yore, Native American burial ground tropes, and just how much parents royally f*** up.
