Let the Baron know what you think of the episode... he's dying to hear from you! From Baron Sordor's Theatre of the Doomed comes THE MEDUSA SYNDROME — the episode critics are already saying “could be one of the greatest sci-fi podcast episodes of all time.”In the late 1980s, an asteroid on a collision course with Earth prompts an international team of astronauts to embark on a mission to alter its trajectory. But upon landing, they uncover an ancient secret so powerful and terrifying it threatens to destroy the entire human race. What happens next will have to be heard to be believed—an episode so colossal in sheer ambition, scale and scope that some fans say it feels more like a feature film than a podcast. The Medusa Syndrome… a retro cosmic nightmare with an ending so unbelievably insane you'll have to listen to it twice.Terror has a new face… and it's petrifying. The Medusa Syndrome Starring - Kristian Schmid – Tristan Black – Ally Morgan – Jared Stephenson – Sarah Jane Starr & Special Guest Star Jeff Martin as Baron Sordor Produced - Aaron Harvie & Natalie Harvie – Recorded at King Sound Studio – Engineer - Nick Bird – Casting - Citizen Jane Casting – Script Editor- Karen Lateo – Music – Paul Searles & Il Terrori Notturni - Written & Directed - Aaron HarvieFor more information go to bloodbrainsandaliens.comSupport the showFor more Blood, Brains & Aliens content go to www.bloodbrainsandaliens.com or follow us on the socials... A young girl finds herself trapped in her family's lake house while they're renovating and is haunted by a mysterious invader. In the fourth week of Staring into Holes month, we discuss Silent House, a psychological horror movie featuring Elizabeth Olsen in her first starring role. While this movie takes on the style of a continuous shot, it relies on acting and character developing to guide the narrative. Even though Olsen's performance is serviceable, there isn't enough happening in the movie to keep up the investment. The twist of the movie is highly predictable, especially if you've seen psychological horror films in the past, and profound character actions towards the end don't have the proper buildup. We've been critical of this movie in the past and there are too many holes references to count to leave it out of Staring into Holes month. This is my quiet playthrough of the Human.exe demo — a retro, text‑based psychological horror experience that feels like a modern cousin to Zork and Majestic. You're dropped into a cold terminal interface and asked to make decisions that seem simple… until they aren't. In my run, the moral weight of each yes/no choice really hit me — especially when the subject's fate took a turn I wasn't expecting. It's short, eerie, and surprisingly emotional for a terminal‑style demo. If you enjoy cozy narration over unsettling games, you might like this one. We have more Mike Flanagan news this week. With the release date of his Carrie series we discuss what we would like to see from the show. Predator: Badlands recently released on Hulu and did record numbers. We talk about what this means for the franchise. We have been lucky to cover some fantastic true crime documentaries on our humble little podcast. We have also seen some great folk horror. We never thought the two would come together. The Last Sacrifice does just that in a surprising documentary. There have been plenty of movies that have been moving along nicely when they suddenly lose the plot. Things become a mess at that point and it is pretty much impossible to get things back on track. A strong argument can be made that The Last Sacrifice loses its way. But it is one of the most fascinating tangents you will ever see. And it ultimately does tie into the greater mystery. The Dreadful will draw lots of attention for its casting of Kit Harrington and Sophie Turner. But it is a performance from another actor that steals the show. The film covers some deep themes and is bolstered by its fantastic setting. But one missed opportunity prevents it from being something truly special. A character driven psychological horror, The Dreadful does not necessarily need a Big Bad, but when it introduces one, it is hard not to expect more from it. And to be supremely disappointed when nothing comes of it. Adventures in Movies! is a part of the Morbidly Beautiful Podcast Network. In this video, Chris and Gerry take an in-depth look at The Innocents (1961), one of the most unsettling and beautifully crafted psychological horror films ever made. Siquoyia Blue pulls you into the shadow of HIM, a film that reads like a modern ritual: Cam, a promising football star, is courted by a godlike mentor who doesn’t teach—he remakes. What starts as mentorship spirals into initiation, a slow, seductive erosion of identity where silence is worship and suffering is proof of worth. Through piercing scenes of isolation, reward-and-punishment, and the chilling transfer of blood and legacy, the film exposes how power alchemizes devotion into obedience. This episode traces that transformation, connecting cinematic horror to real-world grooming—from secretive inner circles to hustle culture—and asks the question the movie forces on us all: who are you willing to become? Listen as Siquoyia decodes the movie’s rituals, the redefinition of masculinity, and the cost of being chosen—then stays with you after the credits, nudging you to protect your soul and your voice in a world that will gladly invoice you for them. On September 8, 1960, Psycho shocked cinema audiences with a level of psychological horror never seen before. But Psycho wasn’t pure fiction. It was inspired by the gruesome true story of Ed Gein, the real-life Butcher of Plainfield. When police raided Gein’s Wisconsin farmhouse in 1957, they uncovered a macabre scene: human remains crafted into lampshades, furniture, and clothing. These discoveries stunned the nation and sparked a media frenzy that would influence generations of horror storytelling. In this episode of True Crime Conversations, host Claire Murphy speaks with acclaimed true crime author Harold Schechter, whose book remains the definitive account of Ed Gein’s crimes. Following the Netflix release of Monsters: The Ed Gein Story from Ryan Murphy, Schechter reflects on how Gein’s legacy has been interpreted, and sometimes distorted, by Hollywood. You can find out more about Harold's book Deviant: The Shocking True Story of Ed Gein, The Original Psycho here. On today's episode of Spun Today, host Tony Ortiz sits down with the powerhouse creative duo Blarime ‘Blu' Topalli and Peter Stass—veteran writers, filmmakers, and the minds behind the atmospheric new horror podcast, The Night Visitor. Together, they dive deep into the art of collaboration, exploring how blending backgrounds in gothic fiction, comedy, screenwriting, and visual effects leads to stories that both thrill and provoke thought. Blu brings her experience from working on iconic projects like Titanic and My Big Fat Greek Wedding, along with her love of gothic literature and psychological horror. Peter, meanwhile, draws on a rich foundation in comic book art, screenwriting, and his unique ability to straddle the worlds of humor and terror. In this conversation, they open up about their creative process, the magic of partnership without ego, and why the best horror uncovers truths about ourselves—not just our fears. Whether you're a writer, creator, or simply love a good story, this is an episode about the craft of storytelling, the power of cathartic genres like horror and comedy, and how chasing creative risk—rather than playing it safe—can lead to truly original work. Stay tuned for inspiration, behind-the-scenes stories, and a masterclass in creative chemistry. The Spun Today Podcast is a Podcast that is anchored in Writing, but unlimited in scope.
