This week we are exploring the walk of life with the author, speaker, and coach Kellan Fluckiger.  Kellan shares his own struggles in life starting with a very challenging childhood.  Kellan went on to hold high profile jobs while constantly wrestling with depression, anxiety, drug addiction and going through a cycle of highs and lows.  At age 52 Kellan had what he can only describe as a divine intervention. Since that moment in 2007 Kellan has written multiple books, found the love of his life,  and started a global coaching practice.  Kellan has made his goal for 2022 to help 10 million people to discover, develop, and serve with their divine gifts. This week we are exploring the walk of life with the Deputy Fire Marshal for West Hartford, CT, Marsha McCurdy Adell.  Marsha was the first Black woman to graduate from the Connecticut Fire Academy in the year 2000 and has served her community in a variety of ways since that time.  Marsha is also actively involved in advocating for the regular people in her town by engaging with city leadership.  Marsha shares her challenges and successes throughout her career and explains the variety of roles she has filled throughout the years.  Marsha is an absolute inspiration and role model for people to look up to. This week we are exploring the walk of life with Active Member of Air Force National Guard, a law enforcement officer, an aspiring life coach, and founder of Wingmen, Jason Williams.  Wingmen is an app that allows you to request a driver to drive you and your car from A to B. It's that simple. Primarily focused on eliminating DUI situations, the service has a range of other use cases that not only makes the community safer but also offers great convenience.  Jason talks about how his experiences in law enforcement led him to this journey and also talks about the various challenges and successes he has encountered while building and launching Wingmen.  Jason is a very humble, generous, and thoughtful person and the mission of Wingmen is awesome. This week we are exploring the walk of life author of the book Unfreezing Trauma: My Private Journal of EMDR Recovery, Mary Held.  In her mid 30's Mary started experiencing seizures in her arm. This would be the first of many debilitating symptoms Mary would face over the coming years.  After multiple doctors and incorrect diagnoses, Mary learned of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) treatment and decided to pursue it.  After 16 EMDR  sessions Mary found herself free of the symptoms she had been dealing with for years and a sense of mental freedom.  Mary has since dedicated herself to spreading the word about EMDR therapy in hopes that it can save somebody just like it did for her. This week we are exploring the walk of life with coach and founder of A Call to Action, Paul Forchione.  A Call to Action helps people clarify and accomplish their goals. After being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as an infant Paul's family was told he would never walk.  After years of hard work and treatment Paul was able to not only walk but also became a pitcher for his high school varsity baseball team.  Paul realized that he could help others take control of their lives and rewrite their own story.  I am humbled to share Paul's inspiring story and message.  Music by Misha Zarins. This week we are exploring the walk of life with internationally recognized motivational speaker, podcaster, middle school assistant teacher, and disability advocate David Figueroa.  Born extremely premature, David was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as a young child and found himself facing not only the physical challenges but also the mental and emotional challenges of not being able to live the same life as other children.  David had continued support from his family and developed a self esteem and drive that is unshakeable and found a love for athletics.  David now creates content on a wide variety of platforms to educate, inform, and inspire people from all walks of life with his own story and character.  David has wisdom far beyond his age and is a truly incredible individual that I am beyond humbled to had as a guest.  The world would be a far better place if we could all live with the love and generosity that David shares. Despite its age Supreme Commander brings ideas and mechanics to the RTS genre that are still not replicated in other titles. Brett and Walker look back over the last year and review the moments from gaming and the podcast that stood out. This week we are exploring the walk of life with author Rony Kessler.  After raising his family and retiring from his career as a CPA, Rony was inspired to start writing.  Rony shares about how his children and grandchildren gave him the idea for a trilogy of young adult novels that weave together an exciting story with both cultural history and personal stories of Rony's family history.  Rony has published all three books in the last 2 years and is a tremendous example that we can develop and pursue new passions in the midst of an already robust life.  Music by Misha Zarins. This week we are exploring the walk of life with my good friend Jamison Smallwood.  Jamison host's both the Culture and Conversations podcast and the Group Chat live show, but joins us today to talk about his new YouTube cooking channel called “Jamison Presents: This Is How I Cook" where he shares his lifelong passion and hard earned cooking wisdom with the world.  Jamison and I talk about the deep roots and significance that cooking has played in his life starting with his family and how it helped carve out part of his identity as a young man.  Jamison also talks about the creativity and expression that can be enjoyed and discovered via cooking and why he wants to teach people to create their own memorable meals.  Jamison's passion and love for cooking is beautiful to listen to and learn about.   Music by Misha Zarins. Bernice began her writing journey as a poet, then ventured into the world of Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy.  Bernice published three books in the year 2020 which is an incredible feat.  Bernice shares her insights into her approach for creating her stories and her lifelong relationship with writing.  The first book in Bernice's series is Angel: The Memories of Eden and Earth which can be found on Amazon along with the other books in the series.
