One of the most magical things about the equinox is the balance and calibration it offers to us. Most transits, portals and lunations are about either calling in OR releasing but at this time of year we're asked to do an energetic overhaul in order to simultaneously access both. When we think about this intentionally- if we know what we want to release- and we probably do because a lot of times its SO much easier to say "well I don't want this, and I'm so over that" but also we need to be able to support that with what we do want: For example, if we want to release energetic drains , imbalanced relationships, feeling taken advantage of, or taken for granted. We are also asked to explore the counter balance to that: Maybe it's calling in something along the lines of: I am now easily attracting and magnetising people and situations that light me up, inspire me, make me feel supported, loved, in reception of generosity...etc etc Also last day of the 25% off equinox sale w checkout code EQUINOX on www.cardsyb.com

I've been talking about gay men for FAR too many episodes recently, so please enjoy this summer repeat of one of my favorite episodes ever from Season 1, with my former co-host Donal Brophy.Virginia Woolf is the more famous author today, but back in the 1920s and 30s, it was her lover and socialite-best-friend (God I need one of those), Vita Sackville-West, who was the celebrity.Virginia and Vita fell in love quickly, and throughout their long friendship – THEY WERE ROOMMATES – they wrote intense, glowing letters to one another.Virginia also kept a regular diary, recording for posterity her first, second, and many subsequent impressions of Vita and her glittering aristocratic life. You'll be surprised to hear how bitchy, funny, and catty these letters and diaries can be – brilliant and incisive, too, but neither writer is ever afraid to knock the other down a peg.Enjoy, and we'll be back next week with our scheduled programming! If you want more Historical Homos, you can join our cult at www.historicalhomos.com and follow us on Instagram and TikTok.Like what you hear? This week's super blue moon on Monday the 19th in Aquarius on 2:26pm ET will activate some important emotional breakthroughs. With the Sun in Leo, we are reminded to look to our solar plexus and ask, what makes us feel confident? What are our unique gifts and talents? The moon in Aquarius asks how we can leverage these gifts to make an impact on the collective. This may unlock powerful changes in friendships and relationships in ways that allow us to deepen connections and even find a new sense of community that supports our passions, helping goals to manifest with ease. This one is super charged bc it is a blue moon, meaning its the third full moon in a season that has four full moons, and is the first of 4 super moons in 2024 that Supermoons occur when they are within 90% of their closest approach to the earth and have the greatest gravitational pull on the tides, and the greatest emotional impact on humans. This week we dive into the July cosmic overview and how to navigate the energetic overwhelm brought on by Saturn's Retrograde. July begins with Venus trining Saturn on the 2nd, asking us to look at what we have learned about what drives us from a passionate, heart-centered place and use that as our inspiration when making decisions throughout July. The New Moon on July 5th is one of the best this year for setting intentions that will manifest an up-leveling in love and relationships. If focusing on work- especially regarding a better work culture, this is a powerful moon as Cancer rules the home and family, asking us what we want in our work environment and teams. Month, watch out for unnecessary conflict on Monday, July 15th, when Mars is conjunct with Uranus - tempers may flare, and conflict can be avoided if taking a breath before responding. Mercury then enters its shadow period on Tuesday, July 16th, before retrograding on August 4th. So it's best to get contracts and new projects in motion in the first half of July if possible. We then wrap up the month with the second "money moon" in Capricorn on July 21st, which also occurs as Mars, the planet of action, trines Pluto, the planet of transformation. This opens the door for big changes and acceleration. Gemini Season is a powerful hall of mirrors and a giant feedback loop this June Are you watching and listening to what is being shown and told to you? We're in a waxing moon cycle on the other side of the Gemini new moon - with a specific focus on what we are calling in relationship and collaboration wise both personally and professionally. On Sunday June 9th- today if you're listening inf to this podcast on the air date, we have mars moving into Taurus which will likely feel like the need to slow down and focus on the big picture of what we're grounding into and the foundation we are setting not just for the rest or June's but for the upcoming season. Then, on Tuesday, June 11th, we have Mars Square Pluto- this may cause anger and resentment we've repressed to finally come to the surface and be expressed. Be mindful of emotional reactions on Tuesday, and where possible, allow yourself to pause and take some breaths before you respond Friday the 14th, we have mercury conjunct Venus- aka the planet of communication and love coming together - an opportunity to create and receive greater harmony in relationships. Friday is an excellent date night as well as a good day for meetings set with the intention of solidifying collaborations and partnerships All things Cardsy B/ Book A Reading www.cardsyb.com www.instagram.com/CardsyB
The full moon in Sagittarius this Thursday, May 23rd, ushers in a period of accelerated progress; workwise, this is an advantageous time for launches and kickoff meetings. And with a Venus/Jupiter conjunction in Taurus on the same day, the potential for new partnerships is significantly boosted. This upcoming week is one of the most ideal weeks of the month for progress as we have mercury full steam ahead out of its shadow period and are in a waxing, aka calling-in part of the moon cycle until the full moon on Thursday. I don't mind this Pluto retrograde so much or feel that it is setting us back because changes are crystallizing, and we're collectively on the brink of a new psychic journey. It's a time to evaluate and process outdated subconscious baggage on an individual and collective level This is why, for many of us, what seems like old lessons popping back up in new ways are happening in May. www.instagram.com/CardsyB book a reading: www.cardsyb.com
After the official end of Mercury's post-retrograde shadow period, we are moving forward with a lot more momentum. On the way can also mean crashing into some uncomfortable triggers, which also gives us the much-needed push to unpack baggage we may have tried to jam in a closet or under the bed until this Taurus season. Dont forget there is 24 hours left of the Mother's day sale on www.CardsyB.com
Pluto retrograde is bringing us back home to our authentic selves. April felt like energetic iphone or computer system update after update, causing a feeling of "system overload" for many of us. May is bringing the opportunity to process and reboot. Taurus season particually brings a necessary reprieve from the chaos of the eclipse season in April. It's a time to breathe, regroup, and prepare for the opportunities that lie ahead. The month commences with a potent new moon in Taurus on May 8th, offering us a chance to anchor ourselves in a steadier, more serene pace. But don't mistake this tranquility for stagnation. As Mercury concludes its post-shadow retrograde phase on May 13th, get ready for a surge of green lights and new opportunities. Get ready to dive deep into the history of lesbian love stories and explore what it meant to express queer female love before the word "lesbian" even existed. Amelia starts with the mythos behind Sappho, an ancient Greek poet who is known for her queer female love poetry! Then Amelia explores the history of queer women like Gloria Anzaldua, Virginia Woolf, and Mabel Hampton. She explains that encountering these stories helped her understand how these women were embracing a politics of care and love that existed outside of capitalism. Their stories reveal how capitalism has excluded queer bodies and queer stories since they exist outside of patriarchal systems of oppression. You'll learn a lot from Amelia about how these lesbian ancestors and even Walt Whitman's democratic spirit helped her envision what a caring and inclusive democracy actually looks like. We are headed into a massive week of transformation, especially as we head into the rare Jupiter–Uranus conjunction in Taurus on April 20th, which hasn't occurred since 1941. This conjunction promises big leaps forward, resulting in innovation and growth on a collective and individual level. As we move toward April 20th, many false or unclear narratives from the past will continue to be illuminated. We're being granted an opportunity to view old stories more clearly, realizing we may have been seeing them through a clouded or out-of-date pair of lenses.

Happy Eclipse season! The eclipse on Monday, March 25, at 3:13am ET in Libra is ruled by Venus and focuses on our hearts and how we connect and communicate with others from a heart-centered place. However, the Libran archetype of the scales also asks where we need more balance and boundaries and what is being shown to us that indicates we may need to implement or enforce them at this time. Lunar eclipses are also opportunities to create significant changes in our lives- this often involves things, including thought patterns old limitations and beliefs being "eclipsed out" Eclipses in Aries season are a lot like sneezes - better out than in. Releasing them is better for your body to just freakin sneeze then try to hold it inside and rupturing blood vessels or an ear drum. This eclipse is the first in the Aries season eclipses (the second will be our new moon in Aries eclipse on April 8th) This time period and the events that are unfolding with these eclipses are a continuation of those we experienced in Libra season of 2023- what loops are being revisited or closed dating back to Oct?
The tale end of this Pisces season brings a juicy new moon in Pisces (today, Sunday, March 10.) Venus also transits into Pisces (tomorrow), highlighting relationships. The equinox coming up on March 19 asking us: What are we tethered to? What are we able and willing to clear energetically AND physically? What truths have been shown to us recently? What part of yourself have you maybe downplayed or seen as a negative that actually is one of your greatest strengths?
This week brings an intense window of release and healing as we move toward the new moon in Pisces on Sunday March 10th. It's a powerful time to both give credit to the progress and healing we've moved through over the past year as we wrap the astrological year, and also ask ourselves what we are ready to leave behind regarding vices and escapism. This month of February we explore the world of lesbian love and relationships with Leaf & Firewalker, a lesbian couple who have been together for 39 years and are thriving. First up in the podcast, hear Emily Faye greet the listener before Thistle delivers the WLRN World News segment that includes stories about the World Health Organization's "Trans and Gender Diverse" guidelines, the plight of Ann Menasche in San Diego, CA, and new restrictions put in place for women and girls by the Taliban, among other stories. Next, after enjoying Dolly Parton's song "All I Can Do", stay tuned for a 40-minute interview segment with Leaf & Firewalker, a lesbian couple Emily met at a women-only gathering a few years back that impressed her due to their love and devotion to one another and lesbian community. They founded WomonTown, a lesbian neighborhood that caught the attention of Kansas City Public Television which made a documentary about their project. https://www.kansascitypbs.org/local-shows/womontown/ Below, find the bios of these two amazing women they turned in to WLRN for publication. B. Leaf Cronewrite is Maryann Hopper's crone name. She hangs out with djembe drummers, creative writers, and old crones who inspire her wit and willingness to confront invisibility. Since the Womontown documentary about her activist pursuits with her partner, Drea Firewalker, was released, she's finding film festivals to show it and spread the word of lesbian community building. She is a writer and a storyteller who grew up in Mississippi. Her short story collection, Don't Let the Flies In and her first novel, A Lineage of Deception, can be found on Amazon. Her next collection of lesbian adventure stories, Where Risky Women Travel, will be released in the spring. She is a member of the Georgia Writers Registry. She has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Memphis. Drea Firewalker: As a crone, I realize standing in my power gives me the right to be bold, claim my wisdom, and pursue my life as I wish. I've traveled the world and listened and learned from many people while sharing what makes this life worth it all. I graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. I spent many years in property management and investment. I am one of the founders, along with my partner B. Leaf Cronewrite, of Womontown, an intentional womyn's community that existed in Kansas City for a few years in the early 1990s. I enjoy reclaiming childhood stories. By introducing a fictional character, MyTe Dyke, into these tales, I empower the heroines and add magical communication with many beings. I hope to challenge many to retell their tales with inspiration from MyTe Dyke. Today, I create my glass art, tend my flower gardens, hold powerful rituals for womyn, and love this life. Finally, stay tuned 'til the very end for Sekhmet SheOwl's commentary that gets to the heart of the matter of lesbian love which is to say that it can only happen in a healthy way if we find our own self-love first. The new moon in Sagittarius this week is bringing in some of that Sag energy and optimism we've been craving. We also see some work and finance matters wrapping up this week with the help of mercury's placement (even though retrograde...) in Capricorn. In this episode we revisit how we can utilitze the Wheel of Fortune and Temperance energies as well as the feelings of frusteration and "stuckness" that may be highlighted in the middle of Sagittarius aka Ophiuchus season All things Cardsy B www.cardsyb.com www.instagram.com/CardsyB
Our last Mercury Retrograde of the year is upon us (officially December 13th but we're in the shadow period already) The good news: the first half is in Capricorn, helping us to cross off final to do items and wrap up pending deals and work projects...the bad news the second half is Sagittarius so think before you speak too bluntly at holiday parties! All this and the Tarot energies of the week in this week's episode (link to episode in bio and in stories) Thank you to this weeks sponsor: https://bisoubisouskin.com/ All things Cardsy B www.cardsyb.com www.instagram.com/CardsyB
After moving through a turbulent ascension from Scorpio to Sagittarius, it's a powerful time to use the Mercury energy of the Full Moon in Gemini to clarify and speak our intentions into being with the help of both the Sun and Mars in Sagittarius.
