For now our travels with Mando and his little green friend are over as we pore over the final two chapters of season two; The Believer, and The Rescue. Ben suggests a toast to Operation Cinder, he doesn't just know it, he lived it...he was in Burnin Konn. Charles wants the Darksaber, but he can't take it, it must be won in battle. The Mandalorian Season 2 Finale Predictions!

Tatooine Sons: A Star Wars Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Dec 17, 2020 76:14

The Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian is coming TOMORROW! After a wild ride across the galaxy, there are many questions still lingering: will Mando reject the Creed? How’s he going to get on Moff Gideon’s ship? Is there a Jedi coming to the rescue? Will we see Thrawn? And of course, what’s going to happen to Baby Yoda (Grogu)? We’re going to do our best to answer these questions and more, right after we recap Chapter 15. And we’re joined by a very special guest this week (it's Samuel the Hutt's new girlfriend!)It's TIME for Tatooine Sons! You can follow us on our socials, check out our website, buy Tatooine Sons merch and more here: flow.page/tatooinesonsHOT TAKESOur regular show’s HOT TAKES were derailed by the crazy Star Wars announcements that happened last week. That means we haven’t had the chance to talk about Chapter 15: The Believer. Cara is breaking out a prisoner. Mayfeld poses a theological question. And Mando rejects The Way. That’s all up next on Hot Takes! Chapter 15 centers around Mando’s need to find out where Moff Gideon’s Imperial Cruiser is, so they can get busy rescuing Baby Yoda (Grogu). We learned at the close of Chapter 14, that Mando and Cara Dune are going to bust Mayfeld out of a New Republic Prison to make this happen. Were you a little worried about those first moments when Mando and Mayfeld are reunited? When Mando, Boba, Fennec and Mayfeld get to Morak, there’s a fun exchange between the crew that takes place when they discover that the best way to get into the base with the terminal Mayfeld needs to access is to hijack an Imperial Juggernaut transporting rydonium. It’s a two man job, but not everyone is capable of passing through the required ISB scans. There’s a lot of foreshadowing of what will happen at the end of the episode. Mayfeld and Mando have a really heavy conversation while on the Juggernaut. Mayfeld calls Mando’s devotion to “The Way” when he asks Mando if he can’t remove his helmet, or if he can’t show his face. We’re going to talk more about the mask/face situation in a moment, but let's look at the drink share between Mando and Mayfeld, and Valin Hess - the Imperial officer who Mayfeld served under during Operation: Cinder. For those who may not know what that is, take a second to explain it.It was hinted at throughout the entire episode - Mando is faced with a critical choice: follow “The Way” and fail in his mission to discover where Baby Yoda (Grogu) is, or violate his creed and show his face. What were you thinking when Mando took his bucket off?

FriendsbyFilm Tyler Pacholski @Tyler_Pacholski Daniel Polidoro @PoliPictures Prisoner Migs Mayfeld is working on the The Karthon Chop Fields, but is remanded into the custody of marshall Cara Dune. The Mandalorian needs Mayfeld, a former Imperial soldier, in order to acquire the coordinates to Moff Gideon's ship. Mayfeld directs them to a hidden Imperial rhydonium refinery on Morak. As all the others are known to Imperial security, the Mandalorian must accompany Mayfeld into the refinery to access a terminal and steal the coordinates. Mayfeld and the Mandalorian hijack one of the transports and disguise themselves as soldiers. The highly explosive rhydonium shipments are attacked by pirates, whom the Mandalorian fights off with the aid of two TIE fighters. They reach the facility, the only shipment to survive. The terminal Mayfeld needs is in the officer's mess hall, but Mayfeld sees his former commanding officer, Valin Hess, and fears being recognized. The Mandalorian goes instead but the terminal requires a facial scan, forcing him to remove his helmet to acquire the codes. He is confronted by Hess, but Mayfeld intervenes. After a tense drink where Hess callously dismisses the Imperial soldiers and civilians who died in Operation Cinder,[a] an angered Mayfeld shoots Hess dead. Mayfeld and the Mandalorian fight their way to the roof, while Fennec Shand and Dune provide covering fire, and Boba Fett arrives aboard Slave I. Mayfeld destroys the refinery with a well-placed sniper shot. The ship is pursued by two TIE fighters, but Fett obliterates them using a seismic charge. Dune lets Mayfeld go free as thanks for his aid, and the Mandalorian sends Moff Gideon a threatening message, vowing to rescue Grogu. Gregg Cross - Brian! Where have you been? There's so much to talk about. I look forward to your return. What's the deal with this theory that Rey is Shmi Skywalker? Personally I hope it's not true but I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Love the channel and as always may the force be with you. 2.) Michelle Woods - Hey brian I cant wait for your podcast to come back. I love your channel and show and only listen to you and jedi council. Keep up the great work. I was watching interstellar the other day and it got me thinking. Is there anything in the new canon that describes how lightspeed physics work in the sw universe? 3.) Jeff Reynolds - I just saw that disney+ isnt releasing the entire first season of the mandalorian on day one. Is this true? I was hoping to binge watch the entire season. If this is true, why do you think disney made this decision? Can't wait for your show to return! Keep up the awesome work brother! 4.) Eric Barber - I'm sure you've covered this before on your channel, but since I'm new here I'll throw the topic out there just in case. When are we going to get more material between episodes 6 and 7? That's the time period most of us really care about right now and I'm dying to see it. Plus, what do you think Star Wars has in store for us in the future? 5.) Jamie Holbeche - Hey Brian, eagerly looking forward to the podcast's return. On question I've been meaning to ask before TCW season 7 is about Darth Bane. When Darth Bane appeared in the Clone Wars was he a Force ghost or was he something else? Because I thought Dark Side users can't become Force ghosts but I've not read all the canon material yet.
