Takotsubo syndrome, or “broken heart syndrome,” is a temporary heart condition triggered by extreme emotional or physical stress. It has been romanticized in fiction, with characters like Padmé Amidala and King Lear seemingly dying of heartbreak. First documented in the 1960s, takotsubo syndrome primarily affects postmenopausal women and is characterized by the ballooning of the left ventricle. Trailer

We're back in Middle-earth! At long last as if it were a birthday gift, we're living in J.R.R. Tolkien's world! This is a show we have long been waiting for and having it air at the same time as House of the Dragon is truly a feast for fans of High-Fantasy. Before we get started though we take a minute to discuss some of the toxic and disingenuous takes against this show based solely on the casting of PoCs. It is disgusting that stories based on uniting and banding together, are used to gatekeep and exclude people. We stand for representation and repudiate these ill-advised "takes". That being said, how does the series stack up? Tune in as we talk everything about this show, what we liked, what might not have hit the mark, and what we hope to see as well! Listen as we make some playful jabs against House of the Dragon and discuss how this show stacks up against The Lord of the Rings. What's in that Dwarven box? Who is the Stranger?! Join us as we discuss everything! • • • Please check out The Amidala Initiative a "...community-operated, nonprofit campaign which seeks to use our platform to raise funds for Equality Texas, the largest nonpartisan statewide political advocacy organization working to eliminate discrimination targeting the LGBTQ+ community in the state of Texas. Are you ready to go back to Middle-Earth? As we've said before: we're being well fed on High-Fantasy content lately! With House of the Dragon currently airing, and The Rings of Power firmly in the horizon, we've decided to look back at the granddaddy of modern fantasy: The Lord of the Rings! This seminal literary work by J.R.R. Tolkien inspired so many others, and Peter Jackson's incredible adaptation of the book established that bar by which all Fantasy measures itself against! Today we reminisce on these works and how the films spoke to us, what themes still resonate, the beautiful locations, and so much! We're so ready to see what the Second Age of Middle-Earth has in store for us in The Rings of Power, but for now we'll take a very fond look back at the Third Age, and all the epicness of The Lord of the Rings! Are you ready to go back to Westeros? After the end of Game of Thrones, many of us were left... unsatisfied, and questioned the need for a spinoff show. The time has come and House of the Dragon has premiered! Now the question remains, did the series premiere live up to the hype, or has our expectation from some stellar seasons of Game of Thrones tainted how we approach our views of this. Today we review and discuss this new entry in the A Song of Ice and Fire saga, trying to evaluate it on it's own merits and determining whether we're ready (or not) to go back into this new journey in Westeros! Dracarys! DIEGO LUNA (Cassian Andor & Executive Producer)! We're so humbled to have been able to participate in this event and to ask some questions to these amazing actors. Special shout-out to Disney and Lucasfilm for this amazing opportunity. We hope you enjoy these interviews as much as we enjoyed participating in them! We were very fortunate to share the round-table with some of our community friends, among them: Bryan from Pink Milk, Brandon from Talking Bay 94, Alex from Star Wars Explained, Charlotte and Caitlin from Skytalkers, Dan from Coffee With Kenobi, and Kerwin & Keith from Father. While Moe studies for their Bar Exam, we welcome Joanne to the team! Join us as Joanne helps us review the latest LEGO Star Wars special: Summer Vacation! This one was definitely the best of the LEGO specials (although we might be biased as we are from another beach locale!). Finn's journey in this one is very sweet and endearing, and seeing all three lessons just brought warm feelings to our hearts (especially seeing our emo-boy Ben Solo). We then pivot gears to react to ANDOR! What a trailer! The trailer and it's visuals definitely blew us away, but it was all the representation from (and beyond) Diego Luna and the tackling of real-world political themes that has us intrigued! Star Wars definitely has us fat and satisfied (see what I did there?)! • • • Please check out What Choice? a "...group of Star Wars fans have decided to fight back against the Supreme Court's decision to strike down Roe Vs. For our 60th episode, we turned the choice of topic over to our Patreon members! When asking them what topic they'd like us to cover, 100% of them chose "How Leia is like her parents", so that's exactly what we discuss in this week's episode. We were so excited to break down the character traits that Leia emulates from both her parents, covering the positive qualities, and even the less flattering qualities, of her biological parents. One parent in particular stood out as being the most like Leia, which you'll hear us reveal and discuss at length. And just as Obi-Wan Kenobi described to Leia in the final episode of the Kenobi series all the traits she has from both her parents, we agree that the harmonious blend of both Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker is what makes Leia the very special human that she was and always will be.
We truly live in a Golden Era for Star Wars! Coming hot of the heels of the amazing Obi-Wan Kenobi we'll soon be living in the 12 episode dominance of Diego Luna's Andor! A couple of short weeks after that, season 2 of The Bad Batch shall premiere, and we'll have two Star Wars shows airing simultaneously! Needless to say, Star Wars fans are being fed, and fed WELL. Today we take a look back at those Celebration trailers for both of these shows, react to them and do a healthy amount of "responsible speculation". Join us to see our reaction to these trailers and see how many of our theories turn out to be wrong! • • • Please check out What Choice? a "...group of Star Wars fans have decided to fight back against the Supreme Court's decision to strike down Roe Vs. The Star Wars galaxy is an ever expanding place. With each new movie, and show, the galaxy is made that much bigger with new characters coming into the fold. With the latest show, Obi-Wan Kenobi, that galaxy grew with the introduction of characters like Tala, Reva, Haja, Roken, and of course, Nyche. Imagine our surprise once we learned that Nyche was portrayed by a Puerto Rican! Marisé Álvarez the wonderful actor who portrays Nyche Horn, joins the Triad to talk about her career, starting out in the Puerto Rican comedy troupe Teatro Breve, to making her way to the Star Wars universe by way of Obi-Wan Kenobi! This was such a joyous and heartfelt conversation. Saturday May 28th was a magical day. On that day the Triad of the Force hosted a panel, live at the Star Wars Celebration Podcast Stage! It was such a special moment to be part of this convention and bring our Puerto Rican perspective on a panel! We were so lucky to have some amazing people in attendance, but more privileged to have been joined by Catrina Dennis and Alden Díaz on this panel. Today we're very happy to present our live panel, where we discussed the intersectionality of representation in both media and fandom. We were so lucky to have been able to do this, needless to say, this episode is one we'll forever cherish in our hearts. Star Wars Celebration has come and gone in the blink of an eye. Today we look back at what the convention held and if it met the expectations it set up after being postponed in 2020. The Triad was featured at the Podcast Stage this year so we reminisce and look back at this and all the other panels we were able to attend. From Andor to The Bad Batch, from Tales of the Jedi to The High Republic we discuss everything, especially the friends we made along the way! With so much anticipation for Star Wars Celebration, we almost forgot that there is other nerd related media out there to talk about! Following in the footsteps of WandaVision, Loki, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel has released their next adventure in the Phase 4 multiversal saga: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness! Was this another success for the MCU? There are definitely things that we need to discuss about this movie, and who better to discuss these things with than with the marvelous-unofficial-fourth-member-of-the-Triad Josie Meléndez! We discuss everything from all those amazing cameos, to whether this multiverse is really as mad as the title suggest. Additional we tackle América Chávez's casting and the treatment of the forever tortured Wanda! This one is guaranteed to be spicy!
