Send us a textWhat happens when you describe The Martian as a “work retreat gone badly” or The Purge as a “civic exercise with rules that fail”? We turned our survival podcast into a high-stakes guessing game built on outrageously bad synopses of movies we've covered—Sinners, The Purge, The Day After Tomorrow, Cast Away, The Martian, Outside, 2012, The Thing, Nope, Cargo, and Warm Bodies—and it got competitive fast.Across the chaos, a clear throughline emerges: survival lives or dies on trust, timing, and adaptation. We dig into why rule-based systems crumble when people stop cooperating, how delay and denial make disasters worse, and where logistics turn into ethics when resources and time run out. From paranoia under pressure in The Thing to spectacle versus safety in Nope, from the quiet burden of responsibility in Cargo to the problem-solving grind of The Martian, we unpack what these stories teach about planning, communication, and staying human when everything else breaks. We also share which disaster movies still hit—why 2012 feels like wild comfort food, how The Day After Tomorrow works as a climate caution, and what makes Outside and Sinners stick as moral reckonings rather than simple thrills. Plus, we sketch future game mechanics to make the challenge even sharper: timed hints, point-for-hint trades, and progressively worse clues that force faster pattern recognition.Play along, shout your guesses, and tell us where we blew it. If you love survival strategy, disaster films, zombie lore, and the art of decoding plots under pressure, this one's for you. Subscribe, share with a friend who swears they'd survive, and drop your movie picks for our next round—we'll read the best on air.

Welcome to the latest episode of the Cinema Australia Podcast. In this episode I'm joined by actor Teresa Palmer, and director Marcelle Lunam to discuss their new rom-com, Addition. Addition follows Grace, played by Palmer, a woman who counts everything because numbers hold her world together. But when a chance encounter with Seamus, played by Joe Dempsie, turns her world upside down, her meticulously ordered life starts to unravel. Having appeared in numerous films and TV shows since the early 2000's Teresa Palmer really needs no introduction. But if you're unfamiliar with her work, she has appeared in films such as 2:37, Kieran Darcy-Smith's Wish You Were Here, Warm Bodies opposite Nicholas Hoult, Mel Gibson's Hacksaw Ridge, and Rachel Griffith's Ride Like a Girl in which she playa Melbourne Cup-winning jockey, Michelle Payne. Teresa's TV credits include The Family Next Door, The Clearing and Mixtape. Addition is the first narrative feature film for Marcelle Lunam having previously directed the documentary Habana (Abana) Shakes, and the music video Justine Clarke: I Like to Shake. Marcelle's work here is quite impressive for a first timer. Anyway… enjoy.

ANDREW GARFIELD IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! Hackaw Ridge Full Movie Reaction Watch Along:   / thereelrejects   LIQUID IV: Visit http://www.liquidiv.com & use Promo Code: REJECTS With Andrew Garfield starring in Luca Guadagnino's After the Hunt later this year, Andrew & John give their HACKSAW RIDGE Reaction, Recap, Commentary, Analysis & Spoiler Review!! Andrew Gordon and John Humphrey take on Mel Gibson's powerful WWII biographical drama Hacksaw Ridge (2016), spotlighting one of the most heroic and unlikely war stories in American history. Based on the true story of Desmond Doss, a devout Seventh-day Adventist and conscientious objector who saved 75 men during the Battle of Okinawa without ever carrying a weapon, the film delivers intense battlefield realism and a moving portrait of faith and courage. Andrew Garfield (The Amazing Spider-Man, Tick, Tick... Boom!) stars as Desmond Doss in an Oscar-nominated performance, capturing the medic's unwavering pacifism and quiet strength. Teresa Palmer (Lights Out, Warm Bodies) plays Dorothy Schutte, Desmond's devoted wife, while Hugo Weaving (The Matrix, The Lord of the Rings) portrays his war-haunted father, Tom Doss. Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under, Muriel's Wedding) plays Bertha Doss, Desmond's supportive mother. The film also stars Sam Worthington (Avatar, Terminator Salvation) as Captain Glover, Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers, True Detective) in a memorable dramatic turn as the tough Sergeant Howell, and Luke Bracey (Point Break, Elvis) as Smitty, Desmond's fellow soldier and eventual ally. From harrowing basic training confrontations to the unflinching combat at Hacksaw Ridge itself, the movie features unforgettable scenes like Desmond's night-long rescue of the wounded, his prayerful mantra “Please Lord, help me get one more,” and the climactic cliffside descent with wounded soldiers in tow. With brutal intensity & spiritual depth, Hacksaw Ridge is both a visceral war film and a moving testament to nonviolence and conviction. Look Up in the Sky.....Superman is back and this time he's directed by James Gunn who also helmed the Guardians of the Galaxy Trilogy before switching sides in the superhero genre to now lead DC Studios and this is the FIRST official release now kicking off a brand new extended universe....hopefully.  There's a lot riding on this cinematic re-introduction to the Man of Steel (THAT film was the last time) and this time, he's played by David Corenswet (Twisters, We Own This City) in a story which takes place several years into this superhero's introduction to the world.  Once again, he also works at the Daily Planet alongside his secret love, intrepid reporter Lois Lane now played by Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) and his arch nemisis is local Metropolis billionaire Lex Luthor played by Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max Fury Road, Warm Bodies, Nosferatu, The Menu).  But beyond a few other returning characters, everything else is VERY different from previous Superman movies....including the presence of other meta-humans on the planet, two living parents still back in Kansas, and....the live action introduction of Krypto the Dog?  It's time once again to find it we can STILL believe that a man can fly......Host & Editor: Geoff GershonEditor: Ella GershonProducer: Marlene GershonSend us a texthttps://livingforthecinema.com/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/Living-for-the-Cinema-Podcast-101167838847578Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/livingforthecinema/Letterboxd:https://letterboxd.com/Living4Cinema/

Welcome back to TV Reload. My name is Benjamin Norris and on today’s episode I’m joined by three incredibly talented actors: Ben Lawson, Teresa Palmer, and Jim Sturgess. The stars of the moving new series Mixtape. Now available on Binge and Foxtel. Now, if you’re anything like me, you’ve probably seen these three in stacks of different films and tv shows.. Jim Sturgess, of course, stole hearts in One Day and has gone on to make a name for himself with roles full of depth and charm. Teresa Palmer, one of Australia’s brightest exports, has starred in Warm Bodies, A Discovery of Witches and, oh and I just found out she’s also a mum of six! (Where do you have the time?) And Ben Lawson – who we first met on Neighbours – has carved out a solid Hollywood career in Firefly Lane, 13 Reasons Why, and more. Today, we’re talking about the deeply emotional series Mixtape. From the lost art of making mixtapes to the emotional depth of playing flawed, complex characters. In this chat these three don’t hold back. You’ll hear what it was like bringing young and older versions of their characters to life, how music became a central heartbeat of the story, and why Mixtape hits so hard emotionally. Oh and yes we do get into a few hilarious behind-the-scenes stories, including Ben’s surprising first crash pad in LA, and a surprising link to Tori Spelling. So whether you’re here for the music chat, the acting masterclass, or just some behind the scenes chat? This is an episode you’ll want to listen to from start to finish. Let’s dive in.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this special Halloween edition of Watchin' It, hosts Donnell and Robert cover Warm Bodies a “classic” from 2013 based on a four-book series. Warm Bodies is about a terrible plague that has left the planet's population divided between zombies and humans. An unusual zombie named R (Nicholas Hoult) sees his walking-dead brethren attacking a living woman named Julie (Teresa Palmer) and rescues her. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and the pair embark on an unusual relationship. As their bond grows and R becomes more and more human, a chain of events unfolds that could transform the entire lifeless world.  The duo doesn't hold back as Donnell explains why he hates the Twilight effect and Robert makes a case for why the movie is really not that bad. From the cast to the plot, they break down every part of this horror/romance. Love the Watchin' It breakdowns? Cullen and Hannah are joined by “Warm Bodies” (2013) stan Laurel to talk about this unique adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, the Haitian origins of zombies, and the corpses we didn't fall in love with during Supernatural Romance Month. Oh, and Cullen hijacks this episode to platform about the DCOM series “Zombies,” driving everyone to the brink of madness. Hey Sox fans! Welcome back to Good Guys Talk Back. As the winter presses on, the White Sox continue to gather players that either were former KC Royals or add some very basic depth to a variety of places in the organization. If quantity was the name of the game, then the Sox are leading the offseason. The Sox hint at an upcoming promotional schedule being release and Luis Robert Jr. will be a focal point in 2024. Also, predictions are made that Dylan Cease will be on the roster on Opening Day. Thank you for the continued support. Alex Falcone and Ezra Fox accidentally became mummy romance experts when they wrote their best-selling young adult novel (http://unwrapmyheart.com). For Spooktober they're reviewing three classic pieces of mummy pop culture and analyzing how good the mummies are if they can get it. Today they dive into a young-adult romance that is close to mummies but crucially different: zombies. With Warm Bodies (2016) we find out why zombies bit the love bug before mummies did. It's the gushy boys vs the bony boys on the finale of Mummy Minute. #podcast #moviereview #zombies #monsters #monstermovie #spooky #halloween
