Over the last 12 months, I've seen a shift occurring in the podcast guesting industry. As the market becomes saturated with podcast booking services and eager clients desiring the spotlight to share their message, many popular show hosts have radically changed the type of guest interviews they'll host. If you want to continue to borrow the popular podcast's listener base that hosts work countless hours to build and nurture, most guest experts will need to improve their approach. In episode 425 of the Amplify Your Success Podcast I'm diving into this shift to surface the changes I've seen both as a host, guest and a booking agent for my clients. From the need to ensure relevance and contribution to the host, to a deepening of the need to collaborate, you'll discover what hosts look for that can practically guarantee a spotlight on their show. Hint: the transactional approach is dying. Being a “Niche Celebrity” won't be enough anymore to land spots on top shows. Recording then ghosting your host won't be acceptable now. It's time to consider a partnering approach with podcast hosts. Inside the episode I'll unpack how to stop being a “taker” (even if that's not your intention) and become essential to podcast hosts by contributing creatively, whether by promoting episodes like they are your own or coming up with joint promotions that benefit both sides. By positioning yourself as a partner, you can more effectively integrate into the podcast community and make a lasting impact. Key Takeaways: 04:25 The shift in the industry, and why many hosts (including myself) are moving to doing more solo episodes. 6:43 Why producing a podcast requires more thought, strategy and intention and how that impacts the types of guests we book. 7:23 The 4 primary ways you can monetize your podcast show. 07:56 Why sponsorships aren't always the answer to a host's monetization strategy. 13:24 The primary reason podcast guesting is shifting (and how guest interviews have contributed.) 14:52 Why hosts are increasingly selective about guests and seeking meaningful collaborations. Buckle up real estate pros! The industry is changing and we've got the inside scoop from someone who knows. In this episode Steve and Joe sit down with Colin Mullane, the candidate for first vice president of NAR, to get the real scoop on what's going on in the real estate world. From the recent lawsuit settlement to the future of Clear Cooperation, Colin shares what NAR is doing to protect realtors and shape the future of the industry. You'll hear how these changes aren't just challenges but opportunities for growth and professionalism. Find out why decoupling of commissions might be the best thing to happen to your business and how to navigate buyer representation agreements with confidence and avoid pitfalls. This episode goes deep into the often misunderstood world of open houses, E&O insurance and the importance of adhering to settlement terms. You'll leave with a better understanding of your risks and responsibilities in this new world of real estate. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, this episode has game changing information that will change the way you do business. Colin's perspective as both a successful realtor and incoming NAR leader gives you a behind the scenes look at the industry. Don't miss out on the opportunity to get informed and get ahead of the curve. Listen in for a candid, fun and sometimes surprising look at the future of real estate! Key Takeaways NAR settled a class action lawsuit for $418 million, including major industry changes. The settlement protects NAR members from further lawsuits if they follow new rules. Key changes include removing buyer broker compensation from MLS listings and requiring buyer broker agreements. Colin Mullane is the incoming candidate for first vice president of NAR. NAR fought hard to protect members' interests during the lawsuit. Decoupling commissions has given realtors more control over their business. Clear Cooperation policy, requiring quick MLS listing of public marketed properties, is under scrutiny. NAR continues to defend realtor and consumer interests, emphasizing cooperation. The settlement's practice changes are terms that must be followed to maintain coverage. Open houses held by agents from different companies may violate settlement terms. Some larger companies are challenging Clear Cooperation, potentially for their own benefit. NAR is waiting for a Supreme Court decision before addressing Clear Cooperation concerns. The US real estate industry is unique globally, with NAR protecting its cooperative model. Recent changes have raised professional standards, potentially benefiting experienced agents. NAR's role in lobbying since 1908 has been crucial in shaping the current real estate landscape. Is CBD just a trend, or could it really improve your health and lifestyle? I dive right into this topic in this episode of the Wellness Revolution with the co-founder of Cured Nutrition, Joe Sheehey. We discuss the science behind CBD, CBN, and low-dose THC products, how they can help with stress relief, better sleep, and even serve as a healthier alternative to alcohol for some people. We also discuss dosage tips, potential side effects, and how these products are changing perceptions around cannabis use. Joseph Sheehey is a former NASA-contributing aerospace engineer, nationally distinguished physique competitor, and forward-thinking entrepreneur. During his 7 years in a professional engineering role, he contributed to projects sitting on the surface of Mars, orbiting Jupiter, and slated to carry the next generation of astronauts to space.
