Subscribe to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube: https://bit.ly/3KzEcqKCheck out the site too! - https://bit.ly/3u8dilDIt's an incredibly busy end to Penn State Spring football calendar. Not only does the 2025 NFL Draft kick off tonight in Green Bay, but the team concluded its final open media session on Wednesday night. With the Blue-White Game this weekend, the team's visibility on the college football and national radar is high. We're covering all of that today on the BWI Live Recruiting Show. Join the show today at 10 a.m. on YouTube to discuss the team's progress as they exit camp, the Draft, and of course, recruiting. The team hosted players yesterday and will host more over the next few days, culminating in the Blue-White Game on Saturday. We'll cover the names you need to know who are visiting the program this weekend. NCAA Lawsuit conclusion held up by roster limits We'll start with possibly the most impactful news on the program's upcoming season, which has nothing to do with the team. The House v. NCAA case settlement has hit a major roadblock with judge Claudia Wilken refusing to accept a hard cutoff of walk-on players this year and instead grandfathering players into a gradual limitation of the roster limits over the next several seasons. We'll discuss what that means for the Penn State roster and the players fighting for a spot on the team this spring and summer. Next, we'll discuss the team's NFL Draft prospects who will go in the first round of the Draft tonight. We'll take a recruiting angle on the conversation, discussing the value of having two first-round picks: Abdul Carter and Tyler Warren. Penn State practice recapOf course, the team held open practice last night, so we'll recap what we saw and heard on Wednesday night. What did Penn State head coach James Franklin say about the format for the game? We'll review that, show you highlights from practice, and more! Penn State recruiting visits and conversationsThe team will hold four practices this week, including the Blue-White Game on Saturday. How has the team done at getting prospects on campus? It's the final push before the May evaluation period leading into official visits at the end of the month. Can the team push a few more commitments across the line this weekend? Recruiting reporters Sean Fitz and Ryan Snyder will discuss the upcoming names for the Blue-White Game, plus detail conversations they've had over the last week with recruits, parents, and coaches. #PennState #NittanyLions JOIN Blue White Illustrated: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/join/?plan=annualSUBSCRIBE to Blue White Illustrated on YouTube and enable alerts - new highlights and videos uploaded regularly: https://www.youtube.com/c/bluewhiteillustratedvideo?sub_confirmationBookmark our homepage: https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/Subscribe to BWI Magazine and Newsletters: https://bluewhiteonline.com Like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BlueWhiteIllustrated/Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/PennStateOn3Penn State Practice Recap and Blue-White Recruiting Preview

What if the key to better health, deeper connections, and a more fulfilling life is actually doing hard things? In this enlightening and often humorous conversation, Dr. Scott Lyons sits down with Jeff Krasno, founder of Commune and Wanderlust, who transformed his health and life by embracing discomfort rather than avoiding it. Five years ago, Jeff was 65-70 pounds heavier and facing a diabetes diagnosis when he discovered the power of "good stress" - the kind that makes you stronger, more resilient, and more connected to others.Jeff shares his remarkable journey from being a "chubby kid" constantly relocating (11-12 times before age seven) to becoming what Scott calls "the fascia of community" - a super connector who brings people together. His childhood struggles to fit in across different countries and languages eventually became his superpower, leading him to create spaces where others could belong. Through his personal health transformation and spiritual awakening, Jeff discovered that chronic dis-ease is often the result of chronic ease - and that leaning into discomfort might be exactly what we need. From cold plunges and fasting to facilitating difficult conversations between Israeli and Palestinian students, Jeff reveals how embracing "good stress" can transform not just our physical health but our relationships and spiritual lives. As he beautifully puts it: "The true wonderful ease that we're looking for requires a degree of inconvenience."Topics We Break Down:How chronic ease leads to chronic diseaseThe concept of "good stress" and hormetic stressors (cold, heat, fasting)Jeff's protocol that helped him lose 65 pounds and reverse diabetesBuilding a "psychological immune system" through difficult conversationsThe spiritual dimensions of practices like fasting and cold exposureFinding the space between stimulus and response as the key to personal freedomWhy true ease comes from meaningful connection, not comfort

During the pandemic, like many others, I felt politically charged, and I channeled this energy into being an online warrior. On social media, I reposted it all, making it clear where I stood – only to realize this wasn't my highest use. I wasn't actually reading the books or taking the actions. I wondered: what could I do instead? That's how I ended up here. Real community requires something most Americans are terrified of, which is compromise. It requires letting go of the “all-or-nothing” mindset and finding common ground. It means being willing to give up some of our freedoms for real security and support. Today I share some of my political beliefs and what I've been doing instead of being an “online warrior.” I'm not saying this is how you should show up. It's just how I do. At the core of it all, my fundamental belief is this: as humans, we need to care more about each other. In this episode you'll hear about:My own political beliefs regarding religion, gun reform, human rights, climate change, marriage equality, church-state separation, human services programs, etc.Pitfalls of simply reposting political content without taking action and the importance of having meaningful conversationsThe danger of polarization and the “all-or-nothing” mindset and the importance of finding common ground to foster understanding and connectionThe power of small shifts, plus three things I'm doing in my everyday life instead of being the online warriorResources & LinksRead the book I quote in this episode, Democracy in Retrograde by Sami Sage and Emily Amick.Like what you hear? I (and co-authors) recently put out "Alignment Faking in Large Language Models" where we show that when Claude strongly dislikes what it is being trained to do, it will sometimes strategically pretend to comply with the training objective to prevent the training process from modifying its preferences. If AIs consistently and robustly fake alignment, that would make evaluating whether an AI is misaligned much harder. One possible strategy for detecting misalignment in alignment faking models is to offer these models compensation if they reveal that they are misaligned. More generally, making deals with potentially misaligned AIs (either for their labor or for evidence of misalignment) could both prove useful for reducing risks and could potentially at least partially address some AI welfare concerns. How acceptance and authenticity can transform all of our interactions. What's the key to experiencing deeper connection in our communication? According to Alan Alda, it starts with acceptance — of others and ourselves."Connecting, communicating, and clarity," Alda explains, "they're all based on hearing what the other person is really saying; letting the person be real; accepting them.” As an acclaimed actor, writer, director, and author of If I Understood You, Would I Have This Look on My Face?, Alda has spent much of his career exploring how acceptance enables us to be our authentic selves, leading to better communication and truer connection. “There's nothing more engaging than the real you,” he says. Also the founder of the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University, Alda strives to help scientists and health professionals communicate more effectively with the public. “Science can't do its work unless it gets funded. And it can't get funded if people don't understand what the scientists are trying to do,” he says.In this episode of Think Fast, Talk Smart, Alda and host Matt Abrahams discuss how acceptance and authenticity can transform all of our interactions, from complicated science conversations to everyday communication.Episode Reference Links:Alan AldaAlan's Book: If I Understood You, Would I have This Look on My Face? I'm pumped to welcome my new friend, Amy Green Smith, onto the podcast today! I honestly feel she's like my new best friend - she is SO freaking cool, and offers a very unique perspective on the topic of people pleasing (especially recovering people pleasers - I know there are many of us out there)! In today's episode, we cover crucial topics like people pleasing, unshakable boundaries, communicating with power, cultivating self-worth, and more. Boundaries are one of those things that can feel pretty intimidating (to both people enforcing and receiving them), but they are extremely important when it comes to your self-worth and ‘enoughness'. Taking a three-pronged approach (like Amy recommends) can be incredibly beneficial when you're ready to get serious about your boundaries and actually implement them (the follow through is key here). The world has plenty of badass, intelligent women who are incredibly brilliant, but they tend to doubt themselves, and feel like they don't have ‘enough' to offer. Contrary to what society had led us to believe, we ARE allowed to feel however the heck we want to, and we shouldn't feel ashamed or ‘less than' for our unique life decisions. In this episode, we cover:What boundaries are + why they are incredibly important in regards to your self-worth and ‘enoughness'Why you should not allow your silence to make you a liar + using Amy's three-pronged approach for setting boundaries when you need to have those tough conversationsThe detrimental impact that comes when you lose yourself and who you're really meant to be, simply to fit in and please everyone around youLearning to cultivate your value + genuinely believing that you ARE allowed to feel however you do, regardless of what others think Taking inventory of who you're willing/able to have difficult conversations with + practicing kindness and assertiveness when speaking with othersLetting go of societal pressures when it comes to your health & body as you age + continually prioritizing your relationship with your partnerResources & Links:Gather in Growth Sponsorship InquiryBook me as a speaker for your next eventGather in Growth podcast produced by: Jill Carr PodcastingConnect with Amy:Check out all of her free resources HEREFollow on Instagram @heyamygreensmithCheck out Amy's websiteListen to her podcast The Bold-Faced Truth PodcastConnect with Emily:Follow on Instagram and FacebookJoin my email listCheck out my websiteConnect with on LinkedInBe sure to hit subscribe so you never miss the latest...

There is a metaphor that comes out of ancient wisdom traditions of a bird. One wing of the bird represents wisdom and the other represents compassion. In order to fly the bird needs both wings. Like the bird, as people and leaders, cultivating wisdom and compassion in our lives, and in our organizations may help us to realize our potential. This metaphor serves as the centerpiece of our conversation today as Dr. Leah Weiss and Jerry Colonna dive deep into the power of compassion at work. This episode is the third installment of a 4-part series (originally released last season) that features leading researchers and practitioners exploring themes related to compassion, courage, and living with a more open, and loving stance toward the world. The first two parts featured conversations with: Sharon Salzberg and Barbara FredricksonAnd James Doty and Jacinta JiménezIn this moving conversation Leah and Jerry share: Why they have infused compassion and mindfulness so centrally in their work with leaders and organizationsWhy empathy, safety, love, and belonging may be the most important qualities for leaders to focus onThe role of suffering and a broken heart in compassionate leadershipUsing work as a crucible for realizing our potentialThe power of asking open questions, slowing down, and listening deeplyHow to navigate anger at workReflections on opening the heart in difficult conversationsThe importance of kinship and recognizing our shared common humanity**Please note: In this conversation Jerry and Leah share past experiences related to acute mental health issues and suicide. There is a possibility that some may find parts of this episode triggering. Please listen at your own discretion and in a caring and supportive way for you. Additionally, if you or someone you know is experiencing mental health issues, including those related to suicide please reach out for help. They're deep thinkers! And they're a joy to be around.Parenting teens is not without its challenges, but what in life is?Joey Mascio has been an actor and a middle school teacher, not much difference there. :)Today he joins us to inspire us to be our teens' mentors, not a villain, and I know your mind will be challenged (in a good way). Dialogue is a form of sense-making in motion. Thoughts become words become ideas, and ideas then enter reality splintering into fresh, new routes of discussion – a map begins to form, ready to be navigated.Although, that map might not always have the right people reading it, it may even have dead-ends along the way, or the wrong starting point entirely. This is where Amanda Harding comes in! As a Curator of Conversation, she designs a third space for deliberate dialogue to be held between a blend of actors, so that entangled, wicked problems can be unravelled with purpose, made malleable, and actionable. As you'd guess, mine and Amanda's own dialogue surfaced some big, juicy themes, considerations and musings for the facilitation process.Find out about:Why dialogue can fail when it lacks the right blend of participants – often, those with conflicting opinions have the best conversationsThe importance of making power dynamics explicit to achieve inclusive participationHow tension can be embraced and managed within a space by ensuring all participants can constructively engageHow to craft questions, or conversation-starters, for impactful dialogueWhy dialogue can achieve alignment on a higher common ground, in contrast to a shared consensus, which can lead to diluted, compromised ambitionsDon't miss the next episode: subscribe to the show with your favourite podcast player. And download the free 1-page summary, so you can always have the key points of this episode to hand.Put the episode's best takeaways into practice with Skillding. The interplay between the Default Mode Network (DMN) and the Task Positive Network (TPN) is crucial for our cognitive and emotional health. The DMN, active during restful states and wandering mind, facilitates introspection, memory recall, and creativity, serving as a foundational element in our mental processes. On the other hand, the TPN takes charge during focused, goal-oriented tasks, enabling attention, decision-making, and problem-solving. They operate in balance - when one is active, the other quiescent and this dynamic is essential for optimal mental functioning. However, imbalances in these networks can lead to mental health challenges. For instance, excessive DMN activity is linked to conditions like depression and anxiety, where rumination and negative self-referential thoughts prevail. In contrast, overreliance on the TPN without adequate rest can lead to burnout and stress.Mindfulness meditation offers a practical approach to equilibrating the DMN and TPN, promoting mental well-being by fostering a state of alert relaxation and enhancing self-awareness. Moreover, incorporating regular breaks into the workday, particularly those that allow for mental disengagement from task-focused activities, is vital for sustaining cognitive performance and preventing decision fatigue. Engaging in activities that stimulate the DMN, such as spending time in nature or practicing mindfulness, during these breaks can further enhance cognitive restoration and emotional balance.Awake and Aware | Our 2024 Live EventJoin us at Awake and Aware 2024, a transformative 3-day workshop from May 1st to 3rd in Bend, Oregon. In this episode of the Thoughtful Entrepreneur, your host Josh Elledge speaks with the Co-Owner and CNO of Camp Negotiation Systems, Todd Camp.Todd Camp has revolutionized the approach to this crucial aspect of business. His system assists negotiators, from startup co-founders to CEOs, in preparing, executing, and debriefing negotiations and business relationships. According to Todd, negotiation is not just about making deals; it's about making decisions. When asked whether negotiation is more of an art or a science, Todd leans towards science, citing the role of emotion in decision-making as proven by neuroscience. However, he acknowledges that the way individuals communicate—their mannerisms, speech pace, body language, and choice of words—is where the artistry comes into play.Todd challenges the notion that negotiations with entities like the government are devoid of emotion. He argues that even in such scenarios, individuals are driven by emotional factors, such as how they are rewarded or graded for their performance. For service providers, Todd emphasizes the importance of understanding that decisions are made in the client's world, not ours. He advises spending time early in relationships to truly understand the client's challenges and how you can provide solutions that benefit them.Todd recommends asking open-ended questions that start with "what" and "how" to encourage clients to articulate their needs and vision. This approach helps uncover the true value you can provide, rather than pitching features and benefits prematurely.Key Points from the Episode:Overview of the work done by Camp Negotiation SystemsThe role of emotion in decision-making and negotiationThe importance of understanding the other party's perspectiveThe art and science of negotiationNegotiation in government contracts and procurementThe mindset and approach in sales conversationsThe value of asking good, open-ended questionsOvercoming discomfort in asking probing questionsThe work and approach of Camp Negotiation Systems todayAbout Todd Camp:Todd Camp is the influential owner and chief negotiation officer of Camp Systems, a Silicon Valley-based company widely recognized by major media outlets such as CNN, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, and Inc. In addition to his role at Camp Systems, Todd is the co-founder and partner of The Pareto Group, a renowned negotiation coaching firm catering to co-founders and executives in Silicon Valley and NYC-based venture-backed startups. Co-author of the book "No, The Only System of Negotiation You Need For Work and Home," Todd has conducted live coaching sessions across the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, and Asia. Notably, he recently contributed as a speaker and sponsor at the Negotiation Leadership Conference at Harvard University, organized by the Harvard Alumni Association.About Camp Negotiation Systems:Camp Negotiation Systems distinguishes itself by eliminating unnecessary compromise, aiming for more profitable agreements that bolster the bottom line and foster enduring business relationships. The system is designed to work confidentially with clients and their teams on real business deals. Moral injury, a term initially used in the military context during the Vietnam War to describe the psychological trauma soldiers experienced, has become increasingly relevant in medicine. In this episode, we discuss how moral injury manifests as psychological distress when healthcare professionals' actions, or inactions, contradict their moral or ethical codes, leading to feelings of guilt, inadequacy, and a sense of betrayal. Our conversation will navigate through the history of this term, its definition, relationship with burnout, PTSD, and moral distress. We'll examine real-life scenarios where healthcare workers face moral dilemmas, feeling trapped in a system that often works contrary to their values. Moreover, we'll explore individual and systemic actions that may help mitigate the impact of moral injury.Guest Bio: Kim Baumbach, MD is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University and Assistant Director of the Kiehl Resident Wellness Endowment Awake and Aware | Our 2024 Live EventJoin us at Awake and Aware 2024, a transformative 3-day workshop from May 1st to 3rd in Bend, Oregon. We've all been in situations where we've had to have that difficult conversation. Whether it's giving bad news, tackling poor performance, or just telling someone something that you know they're unlikely to be happy with.Whether you're a people pleaser or worried about the knock-on effect of what you say to others, if you don't get comfortable with tackling the challenging things - if you don't call out the things that need to be said - it can have a profound impact on you, your integrity, your reputation and the trust that you're trying to build with your teams. The context, nature and dynamics of the conversations you have will change the more senior you are in an organisation and not everyone is prepared for that.In this episode I'm talking to Louisa Clarke, a difficult conversation specialist and founder of Confidently There, which helps organisations to develop their verbal communications culture. This episode is the third installment of a 4-part series showcasing leading researchers and practitioners who are exploring themes related to compassion, courage, and living with a more open, kind, and loving stance toward the world. The first two episodes featured Sharon Salzberg and Barbara Fredrickson, as well as James Doty and Jacinta Jiménez. In this deep and inspiring conversation Leah and Jerry share: Why they have infused compassion and mindfulness so centrally in their work with leaders and organizationsWhy empathy, safety, love, and belonging may be the most important qualities for leaders to focus onThe role of suffering and a broken heart in compassionate leadershipUsing work as a crucible for realizing our potentialThe power of asking open questions, slowing down, and listening deeplyHow to navigate anger in organizationsReflections and insights on opening the heart in difficult conversationsThe importance of kinship and recognizing our shared common humanity**Please note: In this conversation Jerry and Leah share past experiences related to acute mental health issues and suicide. It's been shown that positive, daily interactions with family, friends, neighbors, colleagues and even people we encounter as we go about our days help us thrive personally and professionally. And yet, we live in an era where an increasing number of obstacles prevent us from communicating and conversing well, or at all with others. What can we do to make it easier, more pleasant, and more rewarding to converse and connect and do it with greater authenticity, ease, and confidence?Today's gal pal, Patti DeNucci, a networking and communications expert, takes on this challenge with her latest book, More Than Just Talk: The Essential Guide for Anyone Who Wants to Enjoy Better Conversations. In this episode we talk about:Strategies for having good conversationsHow being curious creates better conversationsThe happiness quotient of quality conversations, long and shortHow to work through a difference of opinionHere's a glance:[4:06] As a practical, self-described Utilitarian, Patti is a Naked Nelly on her fingers and a deeply festive Solid Sister on her toes.[9:56] Why communication and connection are continuing themes throughout Patti's work.[13:27] In her new book, More Than Just Talk: The Essential Guide for Anyone Who Wants to Enjoy Better Conversations, Patti describes how better listening can lead to higher-quality conversations.[22:14] The universal characteristics of a good conversation.[27:45] How sharing authentic and vulnerable human stories helps us connect to others on a deeper level.[30:29] Conversation statistics: Who is better at it and why?[34:55] The chemical and emotional payoffs of quality conversations.[43:38] Patti describes why in business endeavors, a good conversationalist garners automatic success.[48:43] In the Flip the Chip segment, Mary highlights Patti's short list of how to have better conversations. A complaint I often hear from those running a business is that it can feel lonely and isolating and their families just don't get it as they are not in it. Networking can have a massive benefit for business owners as it can allow you to make connections with other business owners, have opportunities for collaboration, share how you are feeling in your businesses, and have a group of peers who understand exactly how you are feeling. In this episode, we break down how to start networking and some essential tips to get the most out of your networking experience. What we discuss in this episode:Networking Tips For Small Business OwnersWhy networking matters what are the benefits of networkingTypes of Networking events small business owners can attendwhat you need to do when you are introducing yourself The formula for being memorableHow to break the ice and start conversationsThe secret to remembering everyone's namesThe most important thing you need to do at a networking eventLinks:
Struggling with budgeting, saving or paying off debt? Ready to reach your money goals? This episode is for you! I'm talking with financial coach Erin Harmon all about your money and how you can use it effectively to create the life you want. Erin is the founder of Tranquil Finance. She helps individuals and couples get ahold of their finances and manage their brain so they can create the life and money of their dreams! When Erin became a mom in 2013, she started to feel a lot of pressure to provide all the things her child would need. They had student loan debt, car payments and wanted to save for emergencies and her kid's college fund. It all felt overwhelming and confusing, and it created a lot of stress. On top of it all, she and her husband had very differing views on how to manage their money. She convinced her husband to take a financial course at a local church. It helped them get on the same page, pay off debt and create an emergency fund. A couple more kids later, Erin discovered coaching. Her experience working with a weight loss coach combined with her friends' interest in her own financial journey led her to start her own financial coaching business.Your budgetErin says many people dislike the term budget because it feels restrictive, when it is really just a spending plan. She teaches zero-based budgeting, which means that your income and expenses should equal out each month. You give every dollar you have a job. Because if we aren't intentional with our money, it tends to disappear.Maybe you're overspending or living on your credit card. Or maybe you just want to know where your money is going or have goals to save up for something big. No matter what your situation, a clear budget is essential.A budget not only helps you reach your goals, but it also removes the stress of not knowing what you can spend money on. It is a decision-making tool. It can even turn emergencies into mere inconveniences.Start with your highest priorities and basic needs, like housing, utilities, transportation, food and clothing. The order of these priorities will be different for different families. There's no one right way. Erin and her husband each get their own “fun money” every month that they can use on whatever they want, which brings a sense of freedom to their budget. Having money conversationsThe first conversation you need to have when it comes to your spending plan is with yourself. What is important to you when it comes to spending and saving? So much of our view on money is related to our values and priorities, the things or experiences we find valuable. And your values may be different from your partner's.Erin says that it's actually very common to have one person in a relationship who is all about the numbers and practicality, while the other is a little more free-spirited. It can be hard to get on the same page. In these situations, it can be helpful to have a neutral person (like a financial coach) mediate the conversation. Some common conflicting values are:Material things vs. experiencesQuality vs. quantityStatus or wanting to “match” up with others in your neighborhood or circle (e.g. cars, clothing, etc.)None of these values or priorities is wrong, but understanding where you fall will help you plan for what you value most. The emotional side of moneyWe all know that unexpected things (and lots of thoughts and feelings) come up around money. Money can be a major source of stress, for individuals and in relationships, especially when you feel there isn't enough to meet your needs and goals. Having a money plan removes so much of the stress and anxiety because it gives you more control. When you have the data you need, you are empowered to make decisions that line...
I resisted putting the word Enneagram in the title of this podcast because I like flying under the radar. But I want to make a bigger impact in 2023, so I changed the name to ‘Lead with the Enneagram.' And just as I anticipated, the haters showed up on Day One. As an Enneagram 8, my first instinct was to fight. But because I spent the last decade integrating the Enneagram into my life, I made a different choice. So, what are YOU gonna do when the haters come out to play? On this episode of Lead with the Enneagram, I explain why resistance appears when we step into our light and how haters can serve as an indication that we're on the right path. I explore why stepping into who you are makes people uncomfortable, challenging you to pause and turn inward before you defend yourself against haters. Listen in to understand how the Enneagram can help you communicate effectively in hard conversations and learn how to protect your energy, stay rooted in who you are, and THRIVE in the face of haters. What You Will Learn Why resistance and haters appear when we step into our lightWhy my first instinct is to fight or defend myself against hatersHow a hater's comment helped me get even more rooted in what I doThe question to ask yourself before you respond to hatersWhy stepping into who you are makes people uncomfortableHow haters serve as an indication you're on the right pathWhat to do when loved ones are uncomfortable with changes you're makingHow the Enneagram helps you communicate effectively in hard conversationsThe benefit of declining to put energy into things that don't serve you Connect with Tracy Tracy's WebsiteTracy on InstagramTracy on FacebookTracy on TwitterTracy on LinkedInResources Access Tracy's Enneagram Blueprint Book a Live Enneagram Typing Session Schedule a Team Dynamics Workshop Apply for 1:1 Coaching with Tracy Email info@tracyomalley.com

Like what Oprah Winfrey's guest, Deborah Tannen said: "Sisterhood is fascinating because it is a unique connection of the coming together of connection and competition. The fact that you have these age differences is a built-in power struggle, and the fact that you're all trying to get attention and resources from the same parents creates competition. And the fact that you are always together making comparison inevitable, so all of those dynamics were, to me, terribly fascinating." - I could not agree more!In today's episode, my sisters and I share how we create a safe space for each other to show up authentically:Using enneagram to understand our different personalities, strengths, and challenges in life, and examine how we relate to ourselves, others, and our world.Finding a safe space for different personalities to have an easy way for a difficult conversationHow to have truly, deep meaningful conversationsThe importance of setting healthy boundaries in your relationshipsand believe me, so much more!Keep Up With MeKeep up with my travel and adventures @theremoteyogi and find tons of free resources on how to live with more confidence at theremoteyogi.comHelp me to share the message of Embracing Human by liking this episode, sharing it with your friends, following the podcast, and giving a review. Linda's success among the dozens of organizations she helped led to the spotlight of major business and investment publications. She has been interviewed in Harvard Business Review, Investor's Business Daily, US News and World Report, Reuters, and The Wall Street Journal amongst numerous other publications. In this episode, Dean Newlund and Linda Finkle discuss:Retaining employees in the era of The Great ResignationPeople or profits - valuing people and your company's bottom lineGenuinely valuing crucial conversationsThe role of coaching in the futureUsing intuition in the workplace Key Takeaways:Employees stay not only because of money, it's not enough. People join organizations and interact with human beings. People need to feel valued, important, and connected with other people in the organization.Believe it or not, caring for people in your company is actually good for the company's bottom line and reputation. Investing in people is always worth it.Shift situations from “this is a confrontation” mindset to “this is a conversation.”The greatest need we have is not to be heard but to be understood. So don't talk to convince. Talk to understand. We must make space for intuitive decisions in the boardroom. It's a tool that's complex and many times cannot be explained, but is very useful. "People and profits can go together. They don't have to be siloed or one or the other." — Linda Finkle See Dean's TedTalk “Why Business Needs Intuition” here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEq9IYvgV7IConnect with Linda Finkle: Website: www.incedogroup.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/lindabfinkle/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lindafinkleincedogroup/ Connect with Dean:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgqRK8GC8jBIFYPmECUCMkwWebsite: https://www.mfileadership.com/The Mission Statement E-Newsletter: https://www.mfileadership.com/blog/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/deannewlund/Twitter: https://twitter.com/deannewlundFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/MissionFacilitators/Email: dean.newlund@mfileadership.comPhone: 1-800-926-7370
