Join us in part 2 of our Sexy Summer Series where we talk about how our oh, so sexy hormones get dysregulated. We talk about things like toxicity, external as well as internal factors, and what having dysregulated hormones really means. “There is an estimated 2000 additional new chemicals that are developed and put into commercial use every year. The TSCA, who's responsible for testing chemicals in United States, only tests about 20 chemicals at a time. And that testing takes a few years. So even if they find a problem, the companies using those chemicals get a five-year window to phase out the usage of that chemical.”The three things we focus on in this episode are:Transitions in your homeTransitions in your dietTransitions in your supplemental healthcareThis episode goes really deep into all things toxic, what alternatives we can make, and how to make those transitions, including detoxification. But the goal is the more you know, the more informed you are, the more you make change, the more you improve, the more you gain vibrancy and wellness. We need to make sure that we are doing our job to take out the things that are easy, low hanging fruit to start with. See if we see some changes. And if you don't see changes, keep digging deeper. And that's really the theme of peeling back the onion. It's sort of like, take that first layer off and see how you feel. Take off that next layer and see how you feel. Take off the next layer, and the next layer, and the next layer. Keep going until you feel balanced. Happy to have you back Vibe Tribe! On this episode "Death, Brought to you by The Cosmetics Industry" Kacie & Jana discuss the atrocities committed by the cosmetic and beauty industries in the United States. Startling fact: while the E.U., Australia, and some Asian countries have banned 1300+ harmful and toxic ingredients commonly used in beauty products that are known to cause serious skin issues, health issues, and even problems leading to death, the United States being the "wild west" has only banned 11 of those ingredients. Listen for more alarming information about the makeup, hair products, the skin care, and the nail products we Americans use everyday; and how the chemicals from these products, as well as their packaging, can build up in our bodies, and even can be transferred in-utero to our babies, that can lead to serious health complications. Check out the Documentary entitled "Not So Pretty" on HBO Max, which inspired our discussion. Thanks, as always, for listening. Stephanie Mero is a consumer advocate, certified wellness coach, cosmetologist and curly hair specialist, author, a new mom and she's featured in Episode 4 of the new series on HBO Max, Not So Pretty, which is all about the hidden hazards in cosmetics.Stephanie used hair products herself and on her clients which initially were wonderful and then later caused her hair to fall out, causing hair loss and bald spots in both her and her clients. It's how her advocacy was born and she challenges brands to do better and calls for more transparency. We talked about her experiences with all of that as well as challenges that come with growing up with curly hair. Number 5 in our top seller list discussion with Josey is our Fruit Smoothie Lip Gloss which makes me so happy because when we launched her last spring I had no idea if anyone would even wear lip gloss with all of the masks!
