Could everyday plastic exposure be affecting fertility?Infertility is often treated as a mystery, but growing research suggests that environmental chemicals may play a role in reproductive health. In this powerful conversation, we're joined by Bruno Leonard and Monique Tavares, whose fertility journey was featured in the Netflix documentary The Plastic Detox.Bruno and Monique opened their lives to millions of viewers, sharing the emotional realities of trying to conceive while investigating the potential impact of environmental toxins found in everyday products. Through testing, education, and meaningful lifestyle changes, they gained new insights into their health and fertility. In this candid discussion, they reflect on life before the documentary, the changes they made during their participation, and how those experiences continue to influence their family's future.
What if the everyday products you rely on, including your water bottle, your shampoo, your food containers, were quietly working against your fertility? That question sparked the journey behind The Plastic Detox, where Jesse and Darby Nubbe took a closer look at the hidden chemicals in their daily lives. Jesse and Darby joined other infertile couples to work with Million Marker and Dr. Shanna Swan to test their exposure levels and determine what meaningful changes were actually within reach.Along the way, they rethought routines, challenged assumptions, and made shifts aimed at supporting their fertility outcomes. In this conversation, they share what that experience was really like from start to finish. They walk through what they learned from the Million Marker Exposure Test and how it shaped their decisions. They also reflect on which changes made the biggest difference…and which ones proved more difficult to maintain.Learn more about Jesse and Darby: https://www.instagram.com/jesseanddarby_plasticsGet tested for BPA, phthalates, parabens, and other hormone-disrupting chemicals with Million Marker's Test Kit: https://www.millionmarker.com/
One of the most common questions I get is, "Dr. Aimee, how can I improve egg, sperm and embryo quality?" We know that age, genetics and environment influence egg, sperm, and embryo quality. I've been searching for a diagnostic tool that monitors environmental exposures for my patients, and I'm so excited to have found that one exists. Dr. Jenna Hua of Million Marker joins me to talk all about the impacts of the environment on fertility. We will be talking about how plastics, BPA, and phthalates impact your fertility and reproductive health. Can the right foods support your fertility journey?Fertility starts with nourishment—what you eat plays a powerful role in supporting hormone balance, egg quality, and overall reproductive health. But with so much conflicting advice out there, it can be hard to know which foods truly make a difference. In this conversation, we're joined by Dr. Laura Elrich, a reproductive health expert who integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine into her practice. Together, we explore how nutrition and natural approaches can help create the optimal environment for conception. From antioxidant-rich berries to herbal teas and nutrient-dense foods, this discussion breaks down simple, practical ways to support your body through diet.
Is histamine intolerance behind your unexplained symptoms? If you've experienced headaches, bloating, anxiety, flushed skin, or itchiness without a clear cause, Histamine Intolerance could be part of the puzzle. Often misunderstood, this condition goes far beyond reactions to wine or certain foods—it can impact multiple systems in the body.Histamine plays a vital role in the immune system, digestion, and brain function. But when your body can't break it down properly, it can lead to a wide range of symptoms that are easy to misdiagnose as food sensitivities, skin issues, or even stress. In this conversation, we're joined by Heather Oricchio, who helps break down the complexity of histamine intolerance and offers a more root-cause approach to healing.

There are many things that can impact your ability to become pregnant. In today's episode, I'm reviewing the top 10 things to consider if you are TTC. 1. Environmental Toxins. Avoid microwaving food in plastic containers or bottles. Always store food and glass or stainless steel containers. Million Marker offers a test to find out if you have in-body toxicity. 2. Chemicals in food and everyday products. Verify that the products you are using are chemical free. You can do that on https://www.ewg.org/ 3. Being sedentary. The CDC and American College of OBGYN, both recommend exercise in amounts of 150 minutes per week. Avoid over exercising, as low BMI can also cause fertility issues. 4. Food allergies or intolerances. Work with a nutritionist to find out if you have a food allergy or other food intolerance. You may also want to consider working with a specialist if you have PCOS or working with a nutritionist like Rohini Bajekal to help you manage PCOS if you have it. 5. Blocked Fallopian Tubes. Check with your doctor to find out if this is what may be causing you to have a hard time TTC. 6. THC and Cannabinoids can affect the motility of the fallopian tube and the receptors in the lining of the uterus. This makes embryo implantation harder and it might not happen as quickly as you would want. 7. Nicotine. Nicotine can affect the DNA and the egg in the sperm cells, and it can also affect a woman's fertility such that she could go potentially into menopause earlier. 8. Blaming birth control pills. Many people think that birth control pills "cause" infertility, but the truth is that because they regulate your period they may be masking the indicators of infertility. Make sure you get your hormone levels checked with your doctor every year to confirm your levels. 9. Ignoring biology. Every woman is born with a finite number of eggs, and if you want to wait to have kids until later in life, be sure and freeze your eggs when you are in your 20s. 10. Not getting enough sleep. Listen on Dr. Aimee's website. Curious about IVF? Click here to join Dr. Aimee for The IVF Class. The next live class call is on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 4pm PST, where Dr. Aimee will explain IVF and egg freezing and there will be time to ask her your questions live on Zoom. Many of our followers turn to us for product recommendations as they remove toxic chemical exposures from their everyday products such as household and personal care products. While household and personal care products can contribute a significant amount of exposure to harmful chemicals such as BPA, phthalates and parabens. These are not the only exposure sources. A recent study from the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) found BPA in sports bras and baby socks. BPA enters clothing during the manufacturing process of polyester, which can help dyes hold and prevent static. The exposure of BPA through skin may actually be worse than ingesting it as the body detox process takes longer. This is why we should choose clothes made from sustainable materials such as organic cotton and wool. Today we invited Meli and Rensso Hinostroza, brother and sister, from AYA Eco Fashion and Arms of Andes to join us to talk about these two fast growing plastic-free fashion brands they created. We are going to discuss their materials, manufacturing process and their bigger visions for a more sustainable planet.Learn more about AYA and Arms of Andes: https://ecoaya.com/ https://armsofandes.com/Get tested for BPA, phthalates, parabens, and other hormone-disrupting chemicals with Million Marker's Test Kit: https://www.millionmarker.com/

Up to 10% of people have at least one alcoholic drink every single day. For many of us, becoming our healthiest and best selves means examining our habits. One important area to consider is our relationship with alcohol. Even in small amounts, alcohol can have damaging effects on our physical and mental well-being.Alcohol is deeply ingrained in our society, making the decision to quit or cut back challenging. Our culture normalizes drinking in social settings, often using it as a stress reliever or to celebrate special occasions. This acceptance can make the journey of quitting alcohol a lonely one. Almost half of children with active moms grow up to be physically active themselves, shaping their lifelong health in ways we can't always see. As moms juggling a thousand things, it's easy to put your health on the back burner. Healthy habits you establish now will strengthen your body, nurture your mind, reduce stress, and enhance your emotional resilience. If you're feeling stretched thin, you're not alone, and carving out even a few minutes for movement is one of the most powerful gifts you can give your family. Carving out time to exercise should begin at preconception, so that your future children have a healthy foundation. When you prioritize your well-being post-pregnancy, you're showing your children what self-care looks like and teaching them that health is worth protecting at every stage of life.
