We want them to be comfortable with Scotty. We want them to be comfortable with people like Scotty and not be afraid to go up to them and make a friend, have a friendship, so all the positive stuff that comes out of this makes you want to go back for more.” – Lisa Wentzell  “One of the ways we found out about a lot of the activities and organizations that we've engaged with, with Scotty is through other parents, other families and word of mouth. As much as we wanted to tell Scotty's story, we also wanted to shine a light on those organizations and let other families who might be in a similar position know that there is support out there, there are ways to do all these amazing activities no matter what your child's ability may be.” – Scott Wentzell   “I think the most important thing that we can do as educators is to teach children how important it is to include everybody, to make sure everybody belongs, to make sure you have empathy and you understand what other people are going through. I think as educators and us being able to go share this book with so many people and touching those lives of the children when they're young just makes for better human beings.” – Heidi Bullen     Links:   Listen to Karl Stand's episode on The PR Maven Podcast to hear more about Sugarloaf    Claudia Diller: https://www.claudiadiller.com/index.htm   Central Maine Power: https://www.cmpco.com/   Equip for Living Foundation: https://www.equipforliving.org/   Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation: https://www.maineadaptive.org/   Special Olympics: https://www.specialolympics.org/   Best Buddies Maine: https://www.bestbuddies.org/maine/   Riding to the Top Therapeutic Riding Center: https://www.ridingtothetop.org/   Pine Tree Camp: https://pinetreesociety.org/camp-home/pinetreecamp/   Portland Wheelers: https://portlandwheelers.org/   Special Surfers: https://www.specialsurfer.org/   The Woodshed at Kennebec Cabin Company: https://thewoodshedmaine.com/   The Studio: https://thestudioportland.com/     About the guests:      Lisa and Scott Wentzell moved to Maine full-time in 1993 when they both took jobs at Sugarloaf. As founder and president of Yes to Success, Inc., a company that applies her breakthrough methods for creating true success and prosperity, Poneman has been instrumental in transforming the lives of hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Recognized as one of the pioneers in the field of personal growth, Debra Poneman is a popular talk show guest and has appeared on radio and TV from coast to coast. Since 1982, she has given hundreds of keynotes for businesses, associations, and professional organizations. Her seminars have been featured both in cities from coast to coast and around the world. Debra Poneman spent the bulk of the 70s living in India and Europe spending months at a time in complete silence and deep meditation while studying with some of the greatest Masters of the East. When she came back to the U.S., she used what she had learned to teach meditation to thousands. While working as an account executive for an LA investment firm and attending a seminar called Money Magic, Poneman came to the conclusion that prosperity is actually not created by investing wisely, but rather by using energetic tools and the creative power of the mind. She knew immediately that her life's work was to share this knowledge with the world. Poneman spent the next six months studying the laws of success and prosperity as touted by icons of metaphysical thought like Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale, Florence Scovel Shinn, and the great Wallace Wattles. In early 1981, she founded Yes to Success Seminars, Inc., a company dedicated to teaching timeless principles of success and prosperity coupled with new solutions in contemporary language. By 1983, Poneman's seminars were being taught in over a dozen major US cities. A year later her company was teaching her ever-growing body of knowledge in seven countries on four continents—decades before the Internet made international communication instantaneous. Poneman soon became a favorite talk show guest and appeared on radio, TV, and in magazines around the world. As a corporate trainer and sought-after speaker, her client list included Mattel Toys, McDonnell Douglas, Shaklee, Xerox Management Group, International Trade Management, Women in Management, Women in Banking, Business, and Professional Women, YPO, and more. Today Poneman is a member of numerous professional organizations including Jack Canfield's Transformational Leadership Council and the Southern California Association of Transformational Leaders. She is also a founding member of the Evolutionary Business Council. She is a certified meditation teacher through the Art of Living Foundation and the Transcendental Meditation Organization, teaching meditation to thousands of individuals and in companies throughout the world.

In editing this podcast I was tempted to edit out a lot of my own speaking as I felt like I wasn't listening properly etc. I left it all in unedited as it flowed as a way to expose the false in me, be transparent and be in integrity with myself. Ananta has been a huge inspiration to me and really guides all that I do from inside my heart. His direct pointing still sometimes bothers aspects of my mind, but what He points to is alive within and is taking care of all that arises. I feel his directness can cut through any mind play if you are open to that. Ananta (born, Tapan Garg) is a disciple of spiritual Guru, Sri Mooji. His quest for self-realization began in 1998, at the age of 23. He spent the initial few years involved with Sri Sri Ravishankar's Art of Living Foundation. At one point, he seriously contemplated becoming a teacher of the Art of Living, but life led him in a different direction when he came across the teachings of Nisargadatta Maharaj and later, Bhagawan Ramana Maharshi and Sri HWL Poonja (Papaji). He was deeply inspired by Nisargadatta's book "I Am That". He also spent some time with Ramesh Balsekar and occasionally attended his satsangs in Mumbai. The search for Truth finally led him to his Guru Sri Mooji in January 2009. The instant Ananta met Mooji he felt a deep sense of having come home. He experienced a complete sense of surrender to Mooji and in his Presence, he discovered all that he was seeking. With Mooji's blessings, Ananta has been sharing Satsang since 2013. https://anantasatsang.org/

IN THIS PODCAST:Kushal's lessons from breathwork The impact of life-altering events Meditation for resilience Kushal's lessons from breathworkI've been practicing and meditating for 15 years. One of the biggest lessons I learned was this is the game of losing. The more you lose, the more you win. (Kushal Choksi)You lose: - Stress - Depression - Limiting concepts - Limiting conditioning of your mind that keeps you stuck in reactive patterns Everything that we do comes from a pattern in our mind that was formed due to previous experiences that we have had. These patterns can be changed by awareness, pausing, and acting intentionally. Both mediation and breathwork provide you with the ability to be aware and to pause, and these combined enable you to act and make changes with intention. Losing these patterns and impressions through breathwork makes us feel so at ease and at home. This is the game of losing, losing all of these things, to become a better version of yourself. (Kushal Choksi)The impact of life-altering eventsTragedies can make people more receptive to new spiritual paths because impactful events in life make people pause and take a moment to ask bigger questions, instead of being caught up in the bustle of life. An event like this can create that sense of, “what just happened to me, and what am I doing?” (Kushal Choksi)The most recent global event has been the pandemic. It caused almost every person to ask the same questions and to look at their life, how they are living, and question whether it aligns with them or not. Are you putting in the effort that you want to in your job, your relationships, and your passions? Or are you distracted by the bustle of everyday life? Meditation for resilienceA daily practice of meditation and breathwork can build resilience in a person. So much so, that when life gives them challenges, they are not swayed too much, because they have a sense of stability within themselves. Meditation and breathwork provide people with detachment and calmness which helps them relate more calmly to their emotions; they cannot be swayed by them instantly. You become so natural, you become so resilient and strong...
