Our film-by-film review of all the Eon-produced James Bond films comes to a close with the latest release, the 2019 film No Time To Die, which was delayed until 2021 due to the pandemic lockdown.Given its denouement, this film takes a somewhat darker tone the closer it gets to the conclusion. As Graham says, "It's not your typical ITV4 James Bond film." Hello, ho ho ho, dear listeners! 2021 trickles towards the finish line and, for the first time in the podcast's near 4-year existence, it was a year during which we witnessed a new Bond movie. It certainly felt great to get one. Regardless of the controversies surrounding “No Time to Die”, from pre-production entanglements, the film's plot, to real worldwide shaping challenges, it feels safe to say that most fans are breathing a sigh of relief. We now officially have 25 Bond films to talk about. Speaking of the fans, what better direction for the 2021 Christmas Special than to pass the mic over to them and hear what they have to say about Daniel Craig's Swann song? This week's episode features a few listener audio reviews for NTTD. This is but the warm up however, as future weeks will have extended group conversations about the movie, each one with a different pairing of hosts and collection of guests. James Cameron-Wilson on the UK box office, which has erupted on the release of No Time To Die, soaring 450% on the previous weekend. Taking £26m in just 4 days, NTTD is already the highest grossing film of 2021. Indian movie Chal Mera Putt 3 debuted at #6 with an impressive £3,500 ave. on 54 screens but The Green Knight with Dev Patel could only manage #12. James gave a strong recommendation to the searing new documentary Getting Away With Murder(s), concerning the huge number of Nazi war criminals who lived ordinary lives after the Second World War, 400 of them in the UK alone. We have seen so many franchises get the woke treatment the last few years.  The perception of what is male or what should be male is in a state of flux in Hollywood.  When the first trailers came out for NTTD there was a lot of backlash about different aspects of the trailer.  I was a staunch defender of the franchise and championed the notion that everything was going to be fine.  I remained steadfast in that belief until I suffered through the new Netflix  He-Man show Masters of the Universe Revelations.  Now I'm worried the trailers may not match the movie we get.
