Max Trescott talks with Derek Lienhard about FlySto.net, a platform bringing Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) to general aviation (GA). FOQA, widely used by airlines, collects and analyzes flight data to enhance safety by identifying trends before they lead to incidents. FlySto applies similar principles, allowing GA pilots to review their flights, compare data, and track performance improvements. FlySto offers multiple perspectives, including 2D/3D views, cockpit HUD, and graphical analysis. Pilots can upload flight data from various avionics, ADS-B track logs, and navigation apps. A key feature is approach scoring, which compares pilot performance to fleet averages and provides landing analysis. FlySto also includes customizable flag rules for monitoring exceedances, aircraft performance analysis against POH data, and video integration to overlay flight data onto recorded videos. ADS-B traffic data enhances situational awareness with collision detection and wake turbulence tracking. Additionally, archived weather data helps pilots review conditions during debriefs. Currently free, FlySto plans to introduce a subscription model with affordable pricing for advanced features. Pilots can explore the platform at FlySto.net to enhance safety and performance in GA flying. If you're getting value from this show, please support the show via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle or Patreon. Blue Sky Uranium CEO Niko Cacos joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the exciting acquisition of two new projects in Argentina, covering nearly 80,000 hectares. These new projects are prospective for the discovery of uranium deposits that are amenable to In Situ Recovery, a method known for its lower environmental impact and cost-effectiveness. This strategic acquisition aligns with Blue Sky Uranium's initiative to broaden the company's medium to long-term prospects for discovering additional uranium mineral resources. Cacos elaborated that the company has an option to earn a 100% interest in the Corcovo project, which benefits from new mining promotion initiatives by the provincial government. The state-owned National Atomic Energy Commission has identified significant uranium exploration potential in this area. Uranium radiometric anomalies have been detected at depth in oil and gas wells, indicating geological conditions consistent with those found in ISR uranium deposits. This suggests a promising potential for significant uranium resources that could be economically extracted using ISR methods. The second project, known as Chihuidos, has a rich exploration history. Initially recognized by the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) in the 1960s and 1970s, it was more recently explored by Cameco Corporation in a joint venture with Calypso Uranium Corporation in the early 2000s. Chihuidos is situated on a topographic high, surrounded by airborne radiometric anomalies and surface uranium occurrences, providing strong potential for a preserved uranium mineralized system at depth. This historical exploration data enhances the project's prospects, making it a valuable addition to Blue Sky Uranium's portfolio. To advance these projects, Blue Sky Uranium has initiated the permitting process for field programs. Concurrently, the company is focused on identifying and prioritizing prospective targets for future exploration and drill testing. This involves updating and verifying the existing database for both projects, which includes publicly available borehole surveys and seismic 2D/3D surveys from historical oil and gas exploration. These comprehensive data sets will help refine exploration strategies and target the most promising areas for drilling. #proactiveinvestors #blueskyuraniumcorp #tsxv #otc #bsk #bkucf #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews
Building With People For People: The Unfiltered Build Podcast
You know that feeling when you are in the zone and time seems to standstill? You're on fire, completely focused, and distractions vanish? That feeling is FLOW. In today's world with constant interruptions and demands on our attention, achieving flow can feel impossible. But what if there was a way to cultivate this state and optimize your productivity? That's where "flow as a practice" comes in. It's the art of getting in and staying in that magical flow state. We are joined today by a Flow Experience expert to help us understand what Flow is, why it's important for our joy, ways we can achieve it and more. Our guest, Arty Starr, has been a software engineer for over 20 years doing work in various areas like semiconductor factory automation, supply chain optimization, data pipeline automation and helping companies identify and solve their biggest problems with data. Today she is a recognized Flow Experience expert, researcher, speaker and thought leader, and author of the book Idea Flow: How to Measure the PAIN in Software Development. During the pandemic our guest decided to get her PhD at the University of Victoria, where she is now a researcher at CHISEL - The Computer Human Interaction & Software Engineering Lab, working with Dr. Margaret-Anne Storey. Her thesis project is developing a theory of Developer Flow, and the two cognitive processes of Momentum and Troubleshooting. She is also the founder of FlowInsight, helping developers thrive and find joy through more time in the flow state. Additionally, she is on the advisory board of CodeScene, a painter, a 2D/3D animator, and is working on a new play-based approach to learning coding and animation with a 3D character, called "Learning with Fervie". Our guest believes that we as software engineers are the magicians of this world because we can bring our dreams to life. When our guest is not finding ways to bring the invisible to the forefront, and bring joy and hope back to our work, she is spending her time outside, hangin' with the trees. Enjoy the conversation! This week we feature two films by Chinese artist collective studio, @Motzify Mohua. These two shorts, The Crown and Hunt, are made in Unreal Engine and show extraordinary qualities in very different ways: The Crown is a fairytale made originally for World Children's Day and illustrates traditional cultural references with gorgeous imagery; Hunt is a cyberpunk anti-hero teaser. Our main 'complaint' is that we need more detail from the artists! 3:23 Unreal Engine is one of the best tools for making machinima. 8:14 The crown and the sword. 12:03 The mystique of the film - a hybridised 2D/3D animation style16:36 What struck Tracy about the first film. 19:55 Cthulhu, the ultimate evil. 27:53 What is style and why is it important? 31:58 Hidden politics. Today we're go to tackle the topic of dimensions. We're probably not going to be able to get through all of the dimensions, so we are gonna get started on what the dimensions are and how they are different from one another. As food science and technology continue to advance, so do opportunities to elevate nutrition and quality of life for communities. One impactful example of this is indigenizing food science, the process of integrating traditional food knowledge and nutrition into modern food systems, helping preserve cultural heritage and promote economic development. When put into practice, this can help indigenous farmers limit food waste by incorporating technology to preserve or process raw materials. That's just the type of project a team from Montana State University, led by Dr. Wan-Yuan Kuo and graduate researchers Edwin Allan and Chidimma Ifeh, launched in partnership with farmers in Senegal, West Africa. The goal: to turn underutilized natural resources into a nutritious baked good that farmers could produce and sell, helping improve the local economy and environment. In this BAKED in Science episode, host Mark Floerke talks with this team and Aliou Ndiaye, who played an influential role in convincing farmers to change their practices and work on value-added products instead of just selling raw materials and facing 40% losses. The group goes over: - Indigenizing food science - The need for food technology and science - Natural resources in Senegal and their potential - Food waste and solutions - Formulation challenges for this project - Creating a community in the process Learn more about the project: https://www.montana.edu/foodprodevlab/ Brought to you by: Did you know that you can use KPM Vision Inspection Technology to improve product quality and consistency at full line speed? First, we're playing SONIC LOST WORLD, a 2D/3D throwback to the heyday of the character when the only rule was, "Gotta Go Fast!" Then, we're looking at the TV-based adventure SONIC BOOM: RISE OF LYRIC, which holds the ignominious distinction as the lowest-rated and lowest-selling game in the whole series; does it transcend it's reputation or has it been fairly maligned? “For you are a people holy to the Lord, your God; the Lord, your God, has chosen you from all the peoples on the face of the earth to be a people specially his own.” Deuteronomy 7:6 “For the Bible I had a master-teacher, Eugenio Zolli, from whom I learned directly and who opened to me a new way of reading the Bible. …With Zolli, the Bible began to open totally new horizons for me. I came to discover a profundity and multiplicity of meanings in the Bible that I had never imagined. I came to realize the enormous value of the Old Testament, not only in relation to the New Testament, but in itself… I came to discover what Augustine calls the ‘golden thread'; that is, the constant presence of God, of God's plan, in which all the events are linked together, one to the other, in their movement forward to the fullness that all are looking toward.” (Holy Joy, 62-63) Ann Garrido joins us on the podcast again to dive into a very unique subject: Eugenio Zolli, an influencer in the work of The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. Zolli was a Jewish rabbi who converted to Roman Catholicism later in life. He was a professor and worked with Sofia Cavalletti in the 1950s. He taught her the Jewish way of reading scripture that greatly influenced her work and The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. He wrote an autobiography, Before the Dawn as well as The Nazarene: Studies in New Testament Exegesis. Ann Garrido is associate professor of homiletics at Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, MO and founding director of the school's Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies program with an emphasis on the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (MAPS-CGS). She has served as a catechist with children ages 3-12 since 1996. Ann is also a formation leader with the U.S Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for twenty-one years and a member of the association's formation committee. She is the author of eight books, including Preaching with Children (LTP, 2022) and A Year with Sofia Cavalletti (LTP, 2017). Garrido, Ann Preaching with Children Garrido, Ann. On this week's BFG Week in Review, editor Neal Pollack welcomes Rachel Llewellyn to deconstruct the ‘Turning Red‘ discourse. Rachel talks about the online controversy surrounding the movie and also praises its hybrid 2D/3D animation style. Hopefully Neal and Rachel don't say anything offensive while comparing ‘Turning Red' with other Pixar movies and with ‘Teen Wolf.'Then it's time for Omar Gallaga to make his first podcast appearance in a good long while. Neal and Omar were both at opening night of South By Southwest in Austin, where they took in the world premiere screening of ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once.' They found the hot-dog fingers very moving. And they are both curious to see how the world at large accepts this strange A24 genre mashup. After all, SXSW could debut a two-hour video of a paperclip on a desk and people would give it a standing ovation.Meanwhile, Omar caught Jenny Slate's animated feature, ‘Marcel the Shell with Shoes On,' and says that there were people sobbing in the theater. Let's not get carried away, people, but Omar says this movie is a funny and moving meditation on loss and divorce and traffic.Meanwhile, out in the world, both Neal and Omar realize that we haven't yet fully returned to 100 percent to pre-pandemic norms. The last time they convened the festival, more than 75,000 people attended. Omar says this year the number was half that. On the one hand, we like it because it means more SXSW for the rest of us. On the other hand…well, there is no other hand. Enjoy the show!

How do we bridge that gap?5:41 So you mentioned a standard. At what point do you think we will get to leveraging BIM and design data to effectively build the digital twin during the process as the building is being built? Do you see trends toward that and where does that demand come from?12:03 Let's talk a little bit about looking at the retrofitting of buildings, using photogrammetry or lidar scans to create an as-built, and how some of the tool kits of Unity. It's like we're at this dream state in the industry of what we're able to do. And now it's a matter of getting this technology in the hands of people, so they don't have fear because that's what's holding us back.20:01 From a workflow perspective and practical perspective, how are you seeing companies change the mindset with their workforce because all of the technology in the world is meaningless if the workforce doesn't embrace it?36:07 If you could project yourself 20 years into the future, and if you could have any product or service or gadget or thing, that for you, would make your life better or make you personally happy, what would it be and what would it do?
Tik-tok, coming off as the "cool mom" (but are you really cool?), art and storytelling. We are so excited to bring you this brand new episode with none other than world renowned artist Kevin Cease. We talk about his work rendering precise anatomical drawings for various training corporations throughout the country. Further, we explore his experience of dissecting cadavers and scanning them for 3-D rendering and how that process was a sacred one. As a person obsessed with quality over quantity, he offers tips on standing out in the space as an aesthetic provider, to not be like everyone else, the power of telling your own story and how in order to succeed you have to be willing to go bigger than you think your wallet will go. Leave us a review on Apple! This episode is not to be missed. @kevincease https://www.kevincease.art/ About Kevin Cease: There are two kinds of people: Those that can feel potential and move on a powerful idea, and those that question from fear and need to be shown the final result. When you learn this, it will effect who you decide to bring into your creative circle. I have worn many hats, and enjoyed the challenges presented behind every one of them. Ok, maybe not all challenges, but most! I love problem solving artistic projects... from commercials, sketch comedy and live production, to medical illustration, 2D/3D animation, compositing, and modeling. My background includes many types of production. I went to Academy of Art University for animation. I have and continue to study extensively with online schools such as Gnomon School of Visual Effects, School of Motion, Fly On the Wall studios, and many others. I believe we live in a time where most universities and private colleges are driving students into debt without providing a practical education in art and animation. There are now much better programs coming out with real mentors and teachers who work in the field, and they don't put students into financial enslavement for the rest of their life. I myself am always available to anyone who comes to me for advice of any kind, especially youth and aspiring artists who are trying to find their path in the art field. If you are interested in working with me, don't hesitate to reach out. Please note my schedule is typically booked out pretty far in advance, so there is a level of commitment required when you decide it may be time to start a project with me, and a bit of urgency to initiate the conversation as to not miss my next window of availability. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/diamondhands/message
