Jon has voted with his dollars, and owns pretty much every model from the UK-based über-micro. This one is live, so bear with the background noise and as always, thanks for listening!
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, we're drafting divers! Zach Kazan is joined by Zach Weiss and Devin Pennypacker to participate in a fun but ultimately fruitless exercise whereby they pick their favorite divers at three different price points: under $5,000, between $5,000 and $15,000, and over $15,000. It's always fun to play with fake money, and our panel picks a truly wide and sometimes strange selection of divers, from the common to the completely obscure and everywhere in between. Before they get into the diver conversation, Zach, Devin, and Zach discuss two of the bigger pieces of news to come across the transom last week, Rolex shuttering the Bucherer brand, and the news that Breitling is apparently set to acquire Gallet. Want to learn more about watches? email us at support@chriswarnes.com We buy, sell, trade, consign, service, source and repair. Do you want to work with us on a timepiece? email us support@chriswarnes.com In this video, I'll share my personal picks for the best timepieces available around the $2,000 mark. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just getting started, these watches offer great quality, style, and wrist presence without breaking the bank. Here's the breakdown: 1. Tudor Black Bay M79540 Available in several dials, though the black dial is a standout for me. Slight resemblance to the iconic Submariner, but with its own unique character. At 41mm, it's a great size that's noticeable but not overpowering. Priced right around $2,000 on the secondary market. 2. TAG Heuer Formula 1 Date (WAZ2011) A classic with a deep connection to motorsports history. Bold wrist presence with a 43mm case size, larger than the Tudor. Easily recognizable design and available new for a bit over $2,000; used models can be found for less. 3. Oris Aquis Date (01 733 7789) Featuring a striking green dial and matching rubber strap. At 43.5mm, it's an eye-catching piece; Oris nails this shade of green. An underrated model from a brand that deserves more attention. 4. Breitling Endurance Pro Available in a range of colors and options, with sizes in both 44mm and 38mm (targeted at women). Powered by "Super Quartz," so keep in mind it's not automatic. Lightweight and great for sports or gym wear; priced around $2,000 new on the secondary market, and even lower pre-owned. 5. Omega Seamaster (2850.5) A vintage, mid-80s automatic model with a 50mm case. Omega has a long history of quality with the Seamaster line, making this a solid option if you can find one in good condition. These watches offer style, history, and a solid build at a relatively affordable price for luxury. Let me know in the comments which of these you'd pick or if there are others you'd recommend in this price range! Get your Dominate Your Day Book https://chriswarnes.com/book/

After a one-week hiatus, the boys are all back under one roof – Zach is back from Copenhagen, Russ is back from jort-skiing Palisades on the second-to-last weekend of the season, and Rob has returned from a journey through Omega's epic new manufactory – y'know, the solar-powered campus designed by renowned Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, wherein a state-of-the-art robot tirelessly sorts over 30,000 boxes containing every watch part imaginable and delivers individual components to watchmakers who are hard at work building the Omega watches we know and love. In this episode, Rob takes us on a deep dive into historical vintage Seaamsters from the museum, talks about his impressions of the factory, and maybe even sets the record straight on just how special these Calibre 321 Speedmasters really are (spoiler: they're real special). Oh, and is it Biel or Bienne? Answer: Both! As always, you can reach the boys for questions and comments at podcast@topperjewelers.com. In this show Chris is delving into the allure of luxury watches, particularly emphasizing the Omega brand as a great starting point for collectors. Let's break down some key points from what you've provided: 1. Low Barrier of Entry: Omega offers a range of watches that cater to different budgets. Entry-level pieces can be found in the $1.5-2k range, while investing $3-4k opens up even more options. Even flagship models like the Seamaster 300m, which has an MSRP of $5.6k, can often be found for less, sometimes around $3.5k, especially in the secondary market.
Doch was steckt hinter ihrem Triumph? The fifth episode of our specialist series, Explore: How To Plan An Expedition, focuses on leadership, teamwork, and competence. In this episode, Matt speaks with Lucy Shepherd, James Dyer, and Emily Penn about different leadership styles, what being a 'leader' involves, and the responsibilities that come with it. In 2020, she led a team of indigenous Amerindians across the Kanuku mountains in the Amazon jungle from South to North, and then went back the following year with them to cross from East to West. She regularly guides expeditions to the Arctic, and has climbed summits in Tajikistan, Alaska, and Chile.James Dyer is an adventurer, expedition leader, safety advisor and outdoor education practitioner. With a career spanning over 20 years, he has participated in and led expeditions all over the globe, covering all environments from the highest mountains, to the frozen arctic, spending time with indigenous peoples in the jungles of Borneo and the bush of Tanzania, climbing into the canopy of the Peruvian Amazon, canoeing rivers deep in Northern Canada and trekking across the deserts of the Middle East.Emily Penn is a skipper and ocean advocate. Emily founded eXXpedition - a non-profit organisation which runs pioneering all-female sailing research expeditions at sea and virtual voyages on land to investigate the causes of, and solutions to, ocean plastic pollution. This week on the first podcast of 2024, it's our annual predictions episode, where we look ahead to the new year and make our best guesses about what's to come. It's part wishful thinking, and partly just hunches we've been harboring, but it's always fun to play prognosticator and imagine what might transpire over the next twelve months. On this episode, Zach and Kat welcome an often requested guest: Norqain's Katlen Schmidt! That's right – that makes this episode a Tenn & Two reunion episode, which is just a fantastic way to start the year. Katlen shares some of her own predictions for 2024, including her thoughts on more color, movement innovations, and the limited edition trend. To stay on top of all new episodes, you can subscribe to The Worn & Wound Podcast — now available on all major platforms including iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Spotify, and more. A Week In Watches returns with a look at a plethora of new releases that include updates from Christopher Ward, Glashütte Original, Nomos, and Tissot. Everyone has a new dial color or case size, it would seem, but they all work well here, bringing new renditions to old favorites, and further dialing in already great platforms. The big news this week comes from Longines, who redesigned their HydroConquest family with a new collection of GMT watches. Unique colorways and a few odd details on the dial preserve some of that classic HydroConquest character, while showing some serious sings of maturity in the process. In other news, we're about a year away from the 2024 summer Olympic games in Paris, and Omega is ready to kick things off with a new Seamaster 300commemorating the games. Omega and the Olympics go way back, like way way back, so it's no surprise to see Omega getting a head start on things with a new LE, and we suspect that this won't be the last to do so.Finally, can you ever have too much of a good thing? Tissot doesn't think so, and just keeps iterating on the wildly popular PRX range, most recently with new dial colors and even a fully gold plated example in their 35mm Powermatic 80 PRX line. It should come as no surprise that they work rather well. Catch more details on these watches in our full intro.Reminder that you can catch us again in 2 weeks for more watches, people, and news in episode 62 of A Week In Watches.

This week on the podcast, Blake welcomes Ricardo Sime and Blake Malin to show to talk about a variety of topics in a freewheeling conversation, including our tendency to flip Tudors for other Tudors, what's keeping Blake (Buettner) from picking up a Grand Seiko, and importance of a great bracelet on watches at a higher price point. There's also an extended conversation on all things Seamaster, which took place almost a week before the big news from Omega that dropped recently. Did we conjure these new releases into existence? It's definitely possible. The main topic this week is the concept of heritage inspired watches. It's been over ten years since Tudor's Black Bay helped usher in the era of vintage inspired everything, and we're taking the temperature of the current state of heritage grounded designs, and how they contrast with more adventurous modern designs employed by some brands. How do you feel about vintage inspired watches in 2023? Has fatigue set it, or are you ready for more? Let us know in the comments. This episode is brought to you by the Chicago Windup Watch Fair. If you own an Omega Speedmaster (or a Seamaster, or a Tudor diver, or...) then you are probably familiar with Forstner Bands. Forstner makes a variety of high quality aftermarket steel bracelets- some of which are inspired by classic vintage bracelet designs- for a wide range of sport watches. In this episode, we share some first impressions of a set of Forstner Bands bracelets sent in for review (spoiler alert: they're rad!) and photography. We also debrief the 100th running of the LeMans 24hr race, and chat about the new Daytona Cosmograph that Rolex produced to commemorate the event. Finally, Gregg has a new watch alert that might interest the guys from the "Whiskey and Watches Podcast"!
Founded by Louis Brandt in 1848, OMEGA is seen as one of the most prominent watch brands in the world today. Owned by the Swatch Group, and worn by everyone's favorite British spy, OMEGA is a very significant brand that always plays alongside the likes of Rolex and Breitling. In this episode we're discussing everything from their founding in Switzerland to the creation of the OMEGA caliber where the brand got its name, the Speedmaster Professional getting a screaming endorsement from NASA, and everything in between. OMEGA is full of history, and its current watch collection is full of variety. We discuss the Aqua Terra and its more than 200 variations, the Seamaster Professional 300 and its flawed bracelet, Speedmaster Professional, and Globemaster Constellation to name a few. We also discuss the MoonSwatch, and whether or not that was a good idea for the brand in the long term. Mike Stockton is back to help us speculate on Omega's plans for the Speedmaster ( they've teased an update TBA in late January ) as well as the 70th anniversary of the Seamaster. Will we see a new variant, some form of LE, or a new model altogether? We also compare notes on the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms anniversary watch. Finally, Matt comes away with a heads-up on a previously undiscovered German beer. Good stuff all around! Thanks for listening.

Happy Thanksgiving! Omega just announced the 60th anniversary Bond Watch and I'm down for it! See my video on this watch here - https://youtu.be/oDEF9jLgHC8
The Omega Seamaster 300M No Time to Die 007 Edition is the most interesting dive watch I've worn. The Seamaster 300 line has sixty-five years of history, a relationship with James Bond and despite the measurements on paper fits slim wrists well. I get into all these topics in this episode, and explain why this version of the Bond watch works for slim wrists. For show notes, check out https://www.the36mm.com/
For this episode of Hodinkee Radio, I asked Danny to come on the show to talk about a couple of his latest projects, including his recent A Week On The Wrist with an updated but still old-school Omega and his excellent Talking Watches with Aly and AJ. We get into the many forms that the Seamaster has taken over the years, a breakdown of the new 300, some of our favorite references, and a behind-the-scenes chat about making a great episode of Talking Watches. Thanks so much for listening. Please note that this is the final episode before the show takes a short break for the remainder of the summer. We'll be back in early September with a brand new collection of fun and interesting conversations from the world of watches. Chat to you then. Fratello On Air is back with another brand-focused episode. This time, Balazs and Mike focus on Bulova. Finding six favorites from this legendary brand was a real task, but we've pulled out some winners. We hope you enjoy it!Bulova, the brand founded in New York in 1875, is on the hot seat. We do our best to find six attractive models to help paint a picture of how varied this brand was during its heyday and even after the quartz crisis. Expect the unexpected — especially when it comes to Balazs' picks! Handgelenks KontrolleBefore getting to Bulova, we take care of our Handgelenks Kontrolle. Balazs kicks things off with a new arrival, his "NOS" vintage Excelsior Park EP 4 chronograph. Congrats on the arrival of this long-awaited stunner! Mike is doing his best Balazs impression with the late '40s, early '50s Siduna Commander. This is a Danish brand, but a Swiss watch with a 36.5mm "waterproof" stainless steel case and an ETA 1110.BulovaFor the main part of our show, we discuss six of our favorite models from Bulova. Before doing so, though, we give a little bit of history and bring in some stories about how we were personally impacted by this brand. Then, it's time to hit the watches. We discuss the following:Bulova "Parking Meter" Chronograph ref. 7392 from 1973, a watch that Mike declares as his favorite bullhead"Stars and Stripes" Chronograph C from 1970 with its incredible dial and mesh braceletAccuquartz "Woody," a 1973 collection with wood-grain bezels and even a diamond! The Accutron series, which debuted in 1960 with a focus on the Spaceview and Railroad-approved models.Sea King, with its small whale on the dial and Seamaster-like looksBulova Sea Hunter chronograph, a weird child of the early '80s with a Squale-like case and Valjoux 7736We hope you enjoyed today's show! As always, if there's anything you'd like to discuss, feel free to let us know.

⚙️ Roman, Love everything you're doing currently! I actually have a question about comparing the rising prices of certain whiskey to the continuing prices of platinum Daytonas. For example Pappy is now $2,600…when it originally retailed for Close to $80! LUDACRIS! Do we see the prices only getting higher or will it eventually crash and burn – Owen ⚙️ Roman I am considering buying either the new 41mm Seamaster 300 but then I came across the new Tudor Black Bay 58 if you take price point out of the equation which would you be more inclined to go with? This is my first luxury watch and I want to eventually give this to my son without him thinking “That's such an old man watch” – Jericho ⚙️ Roman im not sure If this is a Nico Question or a you question….but im a big fan of the wolf of wall street aka Jordan Belfort and I was wondering if he's actually wears a Hublot? Why is it that all of the big name ceos wear non hype pieces – Ben ⚙️ Roman, we all know that they bring in money but why do you hate Bustdowns so much? Is there not as much as a profit margin on them? – ChuckieHave a watch or industry-related question? Hello and welcome to the latest episode of The HourTime Show, the official podcast of WristWatchReview.com. Your hosts this week are Victor and Nicholas. Stay a while, and listen. We open this week with some Apple Watch news. According to a recent report in the WSJ, it may soon gain a whole bunch of health-related capabilities including the ability to measure blood pressure. While we may not necessarily need these capabilities today, they do go some way toward fulfilling Tim Cook's 2019 suggestion that Apple's biggest contribution to mankind will be related to health. We then take a quick right into strap discussion, including rumors suggesting the upcoming Apple Watch Series 7 will not work with Series 6 (and older) straps and how new straps can help rekindle your interest in old watches. YouTuber Teddy Baldassarre, who we like a lot actually, recently made this suggestion and we wholeheartedly agree! Next up, some of the watches that were announced at the recent Geneva Watch Days trade show... Nicholas doesn't get 'em. They're *very* fancy and impressive in their own right, but are they really the same thing as like an SKX or Seamaster or Oris? IDK! We're talking pieces like this Urwerk, this Girard-Perregaux, and this Greubel Forsey. We close out the week with our two cents on brand management, or lack thereof, focusing on Citizen, Seiko, and Bulova. That about does it. Thank you again to Andrew Haworth for producing. Please keep it locked to WristWatchReview.com and @wristwatchreview on Instagram for more fun watch content, and let us know how you pronounce "Prospex" by emailing us at tips@wristwatchreview.com. This week we're starting a new series, the Collection Inspection, in which we each pick a watch from our personal collection and explain what it is and why we like it. James chose his Omega 2254 Seamaster and Jason his Rolex Submariner 14060M. In Q&A we're talking dress watches and chatting about some of our favorite hikes, from BC to New Zealand, Alaska and the North East, the list is long so get out there. Finally, we've got some certified fresh final notes covering everything from Briggs Cunningham to the latest issue of Gear Patrol magazine. Episode 07 is all about watch partnerships - from celebrities, to events, brands and charities, Jason and James are digging deep to try and understand what these partnerships mean the end buyer. To better understand the brand/charity relationship, James has an interview with the Australian Marine Conservation Society who recently refreshed their partnership with Oris and the Aquis Great Barrier Reef II. Later, Jason's enjoying life with a smarter-than-average Breitling and James breaks down Everest Bands rubber Rolex straps.
