Does this sound familiar? You're in a leadership meeting and someone asks, "What's our AI strategy?" or "How should we be using ChatGPT?" If you've been in one of these conversations lately, you've probably felt the pressure to have an answer. But here's the thing, you might be asking the wrong question entirely. This week, we're diving into insights from tech humanist Kate O'Neill on why chasing technology trends is letting the tail wag the dog, and what successful leaders do instead. The core insight? You don't need an "AI strategy." You need to understand how AI helps you achieve the strategic objectives you've already identified. ✅ You'll learn why starting with purpose (not technology) transforms decision-making✅ We'll explore the Disney example that makes organizational alignment crystal clear✅ We'll share how to have productive AI conversations at three different levels Kate shares real insights from her work with companies like Netflix, Google, and the United Nations, plus simple ways managers and teams can rethink how they approach change, technology, and decision-making. If you're tired of scattered (AI) initiatives that don't seem to connect to anything meaningful, then this episode will help you have a clear strategy and a team that's aligned. Hey Friend, Im so glad to hang out with you today! This is going to be a fun one. And if you havent been watching the YouTube interviews, you want to watch this one. My guest Erinn is absolutely stunning! But thats not even the best part of her because I found her to be so kind, full of faith, and simply inspiring. She is the co-host of 2 Sober Girls podcast along with the fabulous Michaela Horvathova, as well as a coach, and community facilitator. I love the work she and Michaela are doing and I think you will too. Before we jump in, I have to share an email I received from a reader of The 12 Step Guide For Skeptics Clearing Up Common Misconceptions of A Path To Sobriety. The email came from Stefanie and she writes I became sober in december 2023 without AA (but with the help of an online program) but I recently felt like there is still something missing. Stop drinking is not the real deal, Ive learned from your book and so now I am curious about what will happen during this second sober year, because I am joining an AA meeting now and we plan to go through the 12 steps together. I think it is amazing how open you describe your way of thinking and the issues you had to go through. I feel ready to start working on them thanks to the encouraging book you wrote. Thank you so much and all the best from Germany Can I just tell you, her email brought me to tears. So Stefanie, if you are listening, thank you for all your kind words! If you are interested in getting a copy of the book for yourself or a friend, its available on Amazon in either the Kindle Version or in print. The audio version is coming! So without further delay, please enjoy this episode, and let me know what you think! =J

Host Dave Sobel engages in a compelling conversation with Eric O'Neill, a former FBI operative renowned for his role in capturing notorious spy Robert Hansen. The discussion delves into the evolution of espionage over the past two decades, highlighting how traditional spycraft has transitioned into the realm of cyber espionage. O'Neill explains that while classic methods like dead drops and clandestine meetings still exist, the majority of modern espionage is conducted through cyber attacks, where attackers exploit vulnerabilities in systems to gain access to sensitive information.O'Neill emphasizes the importance of understanding the changing landscape of threats, particularly the misconception that insider threats are the primary concern. He points out that attackers often create what he terms "virtual trust insiders" by stealing credentials and infiltrating organizations from the outside. This shift in tactics underscores the need for businesses to focus on robust cybersecurity measures, including better authentication practices and employee training to recognize phishing attempts. The conversation also touches on the complexities of the cybersecurity industry, where the balance between providing solutions and generating profit can create tension. O'Neill argues that while technology companies are developing products to combat cyber threats, the focus should also be on fundamental practices such as implementing multi-factor authentication and improving software quality. He advocates for a proactive approach to cybersecurity, encouraging organizations to adopt counterintelligence strategies to anticipate and thwart potential attacks before they occur. As the episode concludes, O'Neill discusses the future of cybersecurity in the context of artificial intelligence. He notes that both cybercriminals and cybersecurity professionals are increasingly leveraging AI, leading to a new battleground where AI systems will play a crucial role in detecting and responding to threats. This evolution presents both challenges and opportunities, as the fight against cyber threats becomes more sophisticated and complex, requiring continuous adaptation and vigilance from organizations and individuals alike. WIAC 740
In today's episode, I sit down with Kris O'Neill from the Sew The Distance YouTube channel. Kris and I talked about her start on YouTube and how she stands out in a crowded “crafting” niche on YouTube. We also discuss how she started her YouTube channel with lessons about an old quilt and what she learned. From this series, she has gained HUGE traction online, and it jumpstarted her YouTube growth. This is an amazing conversation with Kris, and we talk all about making money on YouTube, AI tools, her work/life balance, and SO much more. About Kris I am a Christian, wife, mother, teacher, and avid quilter. I am married to my husband, Brendan and we have two grown sons. We live in rural Pennsylvania with our mischievous golden retriever named Daisy. I have been sewing and quilting since 1995 while living in Massachusetts. Like many of us, life changed in 2020. My husband's job went fully remote, allowing us to live anywhere we wanted. Because we both grew up in Pennsylvania, this was an easy decision. I left teaching, we bought a house (via Zoom! I don't recommend this!), and moved back “home.” I started the YouTube channel Sew The Distance; the rest is history! My channel combines my love of quilting and my love of teaching, along with my passion for old quilts.
