Let us get this straight- tthis movie has John Candy, Rick Moranis, Bill Murray and Steve Martin in it?! How is this not more popular?! On today's episode, we discuss a film adaptation that is based on a musical that is based on the original film. A movie that held the record for the most money ever spent by Warner Brothers at the time of it's release. Many would agree that it's the best movie musical of all-time. Parker Anderson, a professional beekeeper and founder of Greener Golf, joins the podcast to talk about how important pollination is to a healthy ecosystem and how golf can play a vital role.
This week the boys sit down with not 1, not 2, but 3 guests! The Built 2 Crew sits down with Sammy Mars, Parker Anderson, and Jake Smith! Jake and Parker give a rundown of Vado, while Sammy talks about his experience at Volusia! Give it a listen and hear some inside info from their trips!
One of the most pressing issues in golf right now is the relationship between the game and the environment. As temperatures rise and water supplies dwindle, courses need to reevaluate the way they use resources and interact with their ecosystems. Sorting through these complexities is Parker Anderson's specialty. Parker is the founder (and head beekeeper) of Greener Golf, a company that helps golf facilities quantify and improve their impact on the environment. In this episode, he talks with Garrett Morrison about the surprising benefits that a well-tended bee colony can offer a course and its surroundings. They also discuss the stigmas against the game, the potential for short courses to be ecological laboratories, and how golf can strive to be regenerative, not just sustainable.

Dead Vinyl is a fantastic rock & roll band from Ft. Worth, TX. They will draw you in with their powerhouse sound on hits such as "Till the Cosmos Fall" and then comfort you with the soft melodic sounds of newer songs such as "Let Love Do". Dead Vinyl consists of: Hayden Miller on Vocals, Zach Tucker on Bass, Parker Anderson on Drums, and Tyler Vela on Guitar. While we unfortunately did not get to record with Tyler on this episode Hayden, Parker, and Zach take us through the various iterations of their bands before forming Dead Vinyl, there are a lot of stories and even more laughs.I was so fortunate to get to talk to these three guys a few months ago and I hope you enjoy it even half as much as we did. While this episode is not part of a larger Volume we are releasing it under the moniker of "B-Sides" since it is a bonus track just for you.Tune in to find out how the Dead Vinyl crew answers the questions essential to the essence of the podcast:1. The current pandemic has invigorated public interest in being out in green space and golfers anxious to get back out and play. In this episode of Frankly Speaking, Frank Rossi and Parker Anderson of Greener Golf explore the science behind our desire for being on the golf course, the conflict with the public regarding community use of the space, and returning to golf. He has a mindfulness chat with Paul MacCormack as things begin to open up, and a new book review segment with Chris Tritabaugh chatting about Minnesota native Thomas Friedman’s Thank You for Being Late. Presented by DryJect,Civitas and Plant Food Company.
This week in studio we have a 4 piece instrumental heavy metal band! C.I. and their 7 song album called Contemplating Impermanence. Peter, Ben, Andrew and BobNash join Joe Tacke, Zach and myself for a really fun show. Right off I have to find out what C.I. means? I know you're thinking its obviously the title of the album but you'd be surprised by the answer. We talk about how the guys met, the roots of the band and songwriting and recording. It was really cool to find out the that AFWOL is connected to mine and Joes favorite Christmas movie. So before I get to far into this the opening song is also the opening song on the album called Waingro. This also has a movie tie in. The middle track is AFWOL. One of the things I like about the album is the heaviness of it. It is meditative. Can hard rock or heavy metal be used for meditation? Zach is back and we have a Zach Libs and a few shout outs. Shout out to Matt Thomas for last weeks song "Choke Your Chicken", Shout out to Ray who is in the hospital. Get Well Soon! Shout out to Parker Anderson for doing an outstanding job at Unity Fort Worth Sunday. Andrew (Drummer) Tipps and I have know each other a while now. We attend the same church and it is really fun for me to mix my church life with my rock and roll life. It was really great to have these guys on. Toward the end I mention how awesome our community is and our city is and the big news of the weekend of the kidnapped and rescued little girl. It was both terrifying (to have a girl abducted blocks from your house in broad daylight) and miraculous (they found her 8 hours later because of community outreach and social media) and the city should be very proud of how we responded. SouthSide!!! The last track is the closing track and it is called The Stress of Bitter Experience. You can find C.I. on facebook and on bandcamp. You can download the album for free. If you listen and think you can vocalize the music, record vocals over it and send it to the band. You never know what could become of it. https://cimusic.bandcamp.com/album/contemplating-impermanence #KeepListening #Neverstop #suckitstubbs Remember our friends The Jerry Jonestown Massacre Arlington Distorted Bombaarded Robotuners Audio Diorama
