Dává proto smysl, když korejsko-německy filozof Byung Chul Han započíná svou knihu Společnost únavy větou: „Každá společnost má svou definiční nemoc“ a tu naši dobu určuje jako dobu vyčerpání. Odkud to vyčerpání? Takový otrok si dává pozor, aby tomu zmetkovi nevycházel vstříc a hlídá si své. Neudělá nic navíc a kde může, podvede jej. Nás zaměstnavatel nejenže nebičuje, on už na nás ani neřve. Čím to? Ti, kteří nečetli podobné knihy a neví nic o tom, že formou doby je únava, viděli možností ažaž a ten náš svět prostě změnili. I. „Místo revolucí máme deprese.“ [úvod až 10:10]II. Hořet? Kdo tuhle blbost vymyslel? [10:10 až 23:40]III. Zmasovění burnoutů [23:40 až 38:40]IV. „Každá společnost má svou definiční nemoc.“ [38:40 až 49:50]V. On this Thursday morning, Marc Cox Morning Show tackles the ongoing efforts to modify Amendment 3, with Missouri Representative Brian Seitz joining the show to discuss his legislation, HJR 73, aimed at repealing the amendment while preserving protections for women. The conversation dives deep into how the bill mirrors Senate efforts and addresses the need for initiative petition reform. Seitz explains the bill's provisions, including a focus on rape, incest, and life beginning at conception, as well as a push for a pro-life culture in Missouri. Marc and Kim also touch on the controversial Georgia case where a woman was arrested after allegedly disposing of a miscarriage, sparking outrage amid a six-week abortion ban. The discussion emphasizes the need for clarity in these sensitive situations.

V nadsázce lze totéž říct i o filozofii. Jsme bojové plemeno, protože jsme se naučili myslet skrze kategorie my a oni. I to má své kulturní dějiny. KapitolyI. Hádka, z níž vyrůstá západní písemnictví [začátek až 16:20]II. Pryč od totality! [16:20 až 42:00]III. Richard Overy: Války jsou dobré „k myšlení“. Robert Eggers' remake of NOSFERATU will be stalking movie theaters on Christmas Day 2024, so Bob and Greg sit down with movie critic Matthew Zoller Seitz of Vulture/New York Magazine and www.RogerEbert.com to discuss the previous versions of the defining vampire classic. But before we get into that, Matt talks about his love of Robert Eggers as a filmmaker, and takes a deep dive into THE NORTHMAN (2022), Eggers' retelling of Shakespeare's Hamlet as a bloody and ironic Viking tale. We also talk about Eggers' THE LIGHTHOUSE (2019) as slapstick comedy, and different takes on DRACULA, as NOSFERATU started as an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic horror novel. As the only one of us who's seen the new NOSFERATU, Matt dishes about that as well without any giving any spoilers, and talks about interviewing WILLEM DAFOE who plays the vampire hunter in the upcoming vampire epic. Dafoe is definitely a guy who's been in a lot of movies to get stoned to. For our old movies--or the classic films if you prefer--we pair cannabis with the film that started it all, F.W. Murnau's original NOSFERATU: A SYMPHONY OF HORROR from 1922, a film that continues to impact horror movies today despite being over 100 years old. And then we pivot to 1979 with Werner Herzog's NOSFERATU THE VAMPIRE with KLAUS KINSKY as the bald and brooding bloodsucker in a movie that is incredibly faithful to its source material while still being pure Herzog. This is a brisk episode at just over an hour long, so Bob didn't get the chance to ask Matt and Greg who would win in an UNDEAD HELL IN A CELL MATCH between Max Schreck (1922), Klaus Kinski (79) and Bill Skarsgård (2022), although Bob did have that question in his notes at taping time. Charles Farrar Browne is often called the first standup comedian. He was, in the 1860s, wildly famous, but his early death, and the soaring career of one of his friends, have contributed to Browne fading from the spotlight in history. A different kind of Star Trek television series debuted in 1993. Deep Space Nine was set not on a starship but a space station near a postcolonial planet still reeling from a genocidal occupation. The crew was led by a reluctant Black American commander and an extraterrestrial first officer who had until recently been an anticolonial revolutionary. DS9 extended Star Trek's tradition of critical social commentary but did so by transgressing many of Star Trek's previous taboos, including religion, money, eugenics, and interpersonal conflict. DS9 imagined a twenty-fourth century that was less a glitzy utopia than a critical mirror of contemporary U.S. racism, capitalism, imperialism, and heteropatriarchy. Thirty years after its premiere, DS9 is beloved by critics and fans but remains marginalised in scholarly studies of science fiction. Drawing on cultural geography, Black studies, and feminist and queer studies, A Different Trek: Radical Geographies of Deep Space Nine (University of Nebraska Press, 2023) by Dr. David Seitz is the first scholarly monograph dedicated to a critical interpretation of DS9's allegorical world-building. If DS9 has been vindicated aesthetically, this book argues that its prophetic, place-based critiques of 1990s U.S. politics, which deepened the foundations of many of our current crises, have been vindicated politically, to a degree most scholars and even many fans have yet to fully appreciate. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose new book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars.
