Many of us who own a small business understand the limited potential for organic growth. Sure, we can add another 10-15%, but those numbers don't always build the long-term wealth we're after. Today's guest is here to speak with us about another option: Mergers and acquisitions. Patrick V Rogers is a serial entrepreneur and investor turned mentor who has personally coached hundreds of CEOs and organizations as an M&A consultant. He helps his clients acquire companies of equal size - typically one per year - that results in them increasing their business value by 20-25x in five years or less. Why does he do it? As he explains it, “When entrepreneurs win, we create freedom that is the bedrock of the world.” They create generational wealth, are involved in philanthropic endeavors, and give back to their communities. And there's never been a better time to do this. With the number of Baby Boomers retiring every day, we're seeing the largest transfer of wealth in modern history. They want to protect their legacy. They want to protect their people. And they're going to be looking for someone who will promise and deliver on both. Make no mistake; it's a buyer's market out there, and with the right strategies in place, you have the opportunity to create the life you've always wanted. When you work with Patrick, he and his team not only TELL you what to do, but they HELP you do it, which means they're rolling up their sleeves, making calls, doing due diligence, negotiating, and seeing the acquisition through to the end. After you finish listening to this episode, make sure you visit PatrickVRogers.com for a free consultation call - and a free copy of his book that includes their entire strategy to double revenue in a year. If you're looking for a sign to begin acquiring new businesses - this is it. Episode Highlights: Why he'll never start a business again How he helped an HVAC company acquire a 3.1 M plumbing company How to grow via geographic expansion The negotiation strategy when working with Baby Boomers The two reasons why company acquisitions fail His opinions on Business Brokers How to maximize valuation The one industry he'd pick to make future acquisitions in Favorite Quote: When entrepreneurs win, we create freedom that's the bedrock of the world. Weitere Praxis-Beispiele gibt Joachim Laukenmann. ETM gets a mini history lesson! As police brutality continues in America, it brings up an interesting point in regards to the responsibilities of the organization. I did some research so I could learn for myself the history of the police department in America and how that evolved into what it is today. After reading a few accounts from historians and police reformers, I learned a lot about the initial roots of the organization and was surprised to know that very early on, it became a way to protect the wealthy and keep control of minority populations. Understanding the complete history of this "prestigious" American institution can aid us in our discussion about next moves for policing in America. This brings up another important topic of authority and why we were conditioned to never question it. These ideals bleed into our own individual lives, where we sometimes police ourselves and others due to this imaginary authority figure that we must obey. It's necessary to educate ourselves so that we can create an informed and cohesive community with which to create new traditions and standards that embrace diversity and respect our citizens. If you are interested in reading the articles I found, here are some links! A great interview with Renee Thompson where she discusses how her company, Healthy Workforce Institute, is on a mission to eradicate bullying and incivility in healthcare. There are serious implications when a healthcare workplace tolerates poor behaviors and the patients are the ones most at risk. The Hawaiian Temple System in Ancient Kahikinui and Kaupō, Maui with Dr. Patrick V. Kirch Thursday, October 3, 2019 in the Atherton Halau The book Heiau, ‘Āina, Lani, meaning “Temples, Land, and Sky,” is a collaborative study by Dr. Patrick V. Kirch and Clive Ruggles, using an approach that combines archaeology and archaeoastronomy. The remarkably well-preserved archaeological landscape of Kahikinui and Kaupō in southeastern Maui includes some 78 heiau, or temple sites, ranging from small coastal fishing shrines, through agricultural fertility temples, to the imposing war temples of Loʻaloʻa and Pōpōiwi, where Maui’s King Kekaulike offered up human sacrifices. Building on detailed mapping and study of these temple foundations, Kirch and Ruggles generated new insights into how heiau served not only as places of sacrifice and prayer, but also as locations where kāhuna observed the heavens. Observing the rising of the Pleiades (Makaliʻi), and probably also the solstices, allowed the kāhuna to calibrate the Hawaiian lunar calendar, keeping it in sync with the solar year.

For more than half a century, Hawai'i-born and raised archaeologist Patrick Vinton Kirch has explored the Pacific, on expeditions that took him to a score of islands from the Bismarck Archipelago to Easter Island. As a Punahou student, Kirch apprenticed with famed Bishop Museum archaeologist Kenneth Emory at digs on Hawai'i and Maui. In 1971, Kirch joined a Bishop Museum expedition to remote Anuta Island, where a traditional Polynesian culture still flourished. Joining the Bishop Museum staff in 1975, Kirch led expeditions to the famed Polynesian Outlier of Tikopia, and to Niuatoputapu, a former outpost of the Tongan maritime empire. In Hawai‘i, Kirch traced the islands’ history in the Anahulu valley and across the ancient district of Kahikinui, Maui. In this retrospective talk, Kirch looks back over a half-century of Polynesian archaeology, reflecting on how the questions we ask about the past have changed over the decades, how archaeological methods have advanced, and how our knowledge of the Polynesian past has greatly expanded.
