As a physical therapist, Samantha spent years treating bodies in pain. But what she uncovered was that so many of her patients — high achievers, athletes, professionals — weren't just dealing with physical symptoms. They were carrying deep emotional wounds: perfectionism, people-pleasing, addiction to productivity, and shame. And it wasn't just in their heads. It was in their nervous systems. In her new book, Breaking the Circuit, she shares: ✨ Her personal journey through addiction recovery, grief, and self-forgiveness ✨ How trauma patterns live in the body and affect our health ✨ Why she reinvented the 12-step recovery model for modern women ✨ The life-changing practice of making amends… to yourself One thing Samantha said that stuck with me: “At one point, those coping mechanisms saved you. But if they're running the show now, they're keeping you stuck.” We dove deep into the intersection of trauma, nervous system rewiring, hormone health, and how so many women are unknowingly trapped by patterns they didn't choose. Patterns that are stealing their joy, their health, and their sense of worth. If you've ever carried guilt, shame, or perfectionism on your back like a heavy bag of bricks — you're not alone. And it is possible to heal. This conversation cracked something open for me, and I hope it does the same for you. Dr. Samantha Harte is a physical therapist, author, performing artist, podcast host, and sober mom of two. She has been featured on ABC7 and CBS and has been written up in People magazine, Time magazine, Best Life, and The New York Post for her expertise on the intersection of mind-body health and wellness. Her self-help memoir, Breaking The Circuit: How to Rewire Your Mind for Hope, Resilience and Joy in the Face of Trauma is a reinvention of the 12 steps of recovery so that anyone, addict or not, can turn heartbreak into hope.

This week, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, there seems to be multiple people with motives for murder, when a brutally murdered man is found, on a dirt road, seemingly murdered while changing a tire. His wife & her best friend are suspects, along with the woman he's having an affair with & that woman's husband, and possibly a few others. Will cell tower data, and some statements to detectives that don't quite add up, convict someone for murder?? In episode 282 of The Super Human Life, Coach Frank Rich sits down with Dr. Samantha Harte to dive deep into the flaws of traditional recovery programs and why breaking free from shame and embracing self-forgiveness is critical for true healing. We explore why so many recovery programs fall short, the role of grief in personal growth, and how facing our own mortality can push us toward becoming the best version of ourselves. She also breaks down the inspiration behind her book, Breaking the Circuit, a modern take on the 12 steps, designed to help anyone—addict or not—rewire their mind for resilience, purpose, and joy. We get to find out a little more about the Vice Presidential candidates tonight in their only debate of this election. There will not be a live audience at the VP Debate in New York, but unlike the presidential debate, the microphones will stay on. For the last couple of months, Democrat Tim Walz and Republican JD Vance have been disparaging each other from afar, so tonight's meeting will likely be extra frosty. It doesn't help Vance that the Washington Post just released details about text messages he allegedly wrote four years ago calling Trump‘s economic policies a failure and predicting that Trump would lose to President Biden. We will run it all past Pulitzer Prize winning author and investigative journalist David Cay Johnston. Today is former President Jimmy Carter's 100th birthday. There's about to be one less place for Animal-style fries in the East Bay. That's because In-N-Out Burger on Oakport Street in Oakland will close on March 24, In-N-Out Burger chief operating officer Denny Warnick let fans know over the weekend. A statement from the company provided to ABC7 indicates the company closed in part due to safety concerns. “We have made the decision to close our In-N-Out location in Oakland, California, due to ongoing issues with crime,” the statement reads in part. “Despite taking repeated steps to create safer conditions, our Customers and Associates are regularly victimized by car break-ins, property damage, theft, and armed robberies.” It's a challenging time for Oakland small businesses. The Mercury News reports the Oakland Police Department recorded a 23 percent increase in burglaries between 2022 and 2023. This In-N-Out location, the only one in Oakland, lasted 18 years and was a popular go-to after arriving at or departing from Oakland International Airport. But Warnick said customers and workers were under threat of danger too often. “We cannot ask them to visit or work in an unsafe environment,” he said. Workers at the location will receive severance pay or the option to work at another In-N-Out location.
A devastating development has occurred in the search for Stephanie and Daniel Menard, the couple who went missing from Olive Dell Ranch last week. As reported by ABC7, Michael Royce Sparks, 62, was arrested for murder following a SWAT raid on his home at the nudist resort in Redlands, California. Sparks, who lived next door to the missing couple, had been identified as a person of interest earlier in the investigation.Read the original article at www(dot)planetnude(dot)co This is a public episode. On this Candid Convo, of She Pivots, Darla shares why she felt compelled to bring Black voices to the television; her unconventional path to becoming a reporter; the loss of her husband when she was only 41; her complicated and challenging fertility journey; and why she still has hope to this day. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) announced his proposed $288 billion state budget, which would cut thousands of vacant state jobs and funding to more than 200 state programs in order to close the state's $27.6 billion deficit. “These are programs, propositions that I've long advanced — many of them,” Newsom explained. “But you've got to do it. We have to be responsible. We have to be accountable.” Under Newsom's proposal, 260 state programs would also have their funding slashed. Cuts consist of $2 billion to broadband that would have helped to expand high-speed internet connections, $500 million that was going to be used to improve the state's water storage system, and $272 million that would have gone to improving employment services for California's welfare system, among other things. Other cuts consist of closing housing units with more than 4,000 beds throughout 13 prisons in the state, saving almost $81 million. Additionally, $300 million that was helping to provide state and local health departments with COVID-19 pandemic-related help would be slashed, according to ABC7.
