July 7, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 158 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking more about the Pittsburgh Steelers signing GM Omar Khan to a contract extension last week. This comes on the heels of Alex and Josh Carney discussing that news on the Friday show. This time I give my thoughts on the decision to extend Khan, and we go over how he should be graded so far in his short tenure and what should be expected out of him these next two seasons. After having a lengthy talk about Khan's career to date and his extension news, Alex and I go over his recent grading of all the big decisions and moves the Steelers have made so far this offseason. We grade the team trading for WR DK Metcalf, the trading away of WR George Pickens, the selection of DT Derrick Harmon in the first round, the addition and process of signing QB Aaron Rodgers, and the big trade that was recently made between the Steelers and the Miami Dolphins. While Alex and I are close when it comes to our grading of those several offseason moves, we do differ slightly on a few of them and especially when it comes to the Steelers trading away Pickens. Later in this show, Alex and I pick up where we left off when it comes to discussing players in my annual 90 in 30 series. We go over key dates in training camp and much more. Steelers TE Donald Parham Jr. reportedly sustained an Achilles' injury on Tuesday, so we discuss what that means for him and the team. We also discuss the Steelers now seemingly being back in play to trade for Miami Dolphins TE Jonnu Smith as of Tuesday evening. We go over our thoughts on whether Smith is worth trading for, what the compensation should be and if he should have his contract increased and extended into at least 2026. The Steelers are reportedly bringing in former Jacksonville Jaguars WR Gabe Davis in for a visit this week, so Alex and I discuss that news some. We talk about whether Davis would fit in with the offense, what his role would be, and if both of us would be for the team signing him. Alex and I then discuss how much better, if any, the Steelers would be if they were to add both Smith and Davis this offseason on the heels of the team trading away WR George Pickens several weeks ago. With the second week of OTA practices now underway as of Tuesday, Alex and I discuss several things related to that topic. We go over TE Darnell Washington reportedly dropping some weight, ILB Cole Holcomb reportedly being back fully healthy and much more. We go over who was not present for the Tuesday OTA practice as well. Former Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger attempted to clear the air some regarding his current and past relationship with QB Mason Rudolph during his latest podcast episode, so Alex and I go over what he had to say on that topic. We also do a small exercise related to what pick the Steelers could have made instead of Rudolph during the 2018 NFL Draft that might have appeased Roethlisberger at the time. May 12, 2025 - Season 15, Episode 133 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into talking about the press conference that Pittsburgh Steelers GM Omar Khan had over the weekend that mostly revolved around the team's decision to trade WR George Pickens last week. We go over what Khan said about the wide receiver room moving forward and much more. The Steelers were able to get six of their seven 2025 draft picks signed to rookie contracts over the weekend, so Alex and I recap those moves and the expected timeline to get DT Derrick Harmon, the team's first round selection this year, signed to his deal. The Steelers reportedly agreed to sign RB Trey Sermon and OL Gareth Warren following both trying out during the team's rookie minicamp this past weekend, so we address their addition to the team. Alex and I go over a few other takeaways from the team's rookie minicamp based on quotes from players. We spend a little bit of time talking about rookie RB Kaleb Johnson and we go over some early stat projections for 2025 when it comes to him. We also estimate how much Johnson might eight right now based on pictures from this past weekend. 2025 is a big year for WR Roman Wilson so Alex and I discuss the outlook for the team's 2024 third round selection out of Michigan. Pickens was back in the news on Sunday, so Alex and I go over why he was and what he allegedly posted on Instagram, which was framed as him taking a shot at the Steelers for being cheap. We talk about how the Steelers aren't allowed to be cheap when it comes to cash spending over a three-year span. Might the New Orleans Saints be a possible landing spot for veteran free agent QB Aaron Rodgers now that QB Derek Carr has decided to retire?
