MLB is coming after Justin Turner and...pretending like they aren't just as at fault if not, you know, more? It's weird. Near the bottom of Hour 1, actor Curt Wootton-who you know from his wildly popular "Pittsburgh Dad" YouTube show joined us ahead of Sunday's rivalry battle-how did the show start? Is it better for them if the Ravens or Steelers win? Late in Hour 1, our weekly chat with PressBox Ravens beat writer Bo Smolka-what type of role can we expect for Yannick Ngakoue? What plans might the Ravens have for Dez Bryant? Early in Hour 2 we tried to get some Steelers hate flowing as former Ravens LB Adalius Thomas checked in to reflect on his favorite memories, how the rivalry has maintained and de-cleating Hines Ward. We then made our Picks for the week in the NFL, including Pittsburgh/Baltimore. And at the bottom of Hour 2, the PressBox Fantasy Football Show with Ken Zalis-how do we handle injury issues with Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde, Aaron Jones, Joe Mixon, Miles Sanders, etc.?

On this episode of the Steel City Nation podcast I’ll interview “Pittsburgh Dad” Curt Wootton. Wootton’s inspiration for his character of “Pittsburgh Dad” came from his own father while growing up in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. While working on the set from a previous series called “Mercury Men”, Curt would do his impression of his father by “yelling” at the cast members focusing on insignificant things like a western Pennsylvanian father would. The premise for the show was to highlight growing up in the PIttsburgh area and how you were raised and was only intended for those who had a close tie to Curt and his friends originally. Once word caught on about “Pittsburgh Dad” around the globe and people could make the clear connection between their father and Curt’s character, his celebrity, “Pittsburgh Dad”, escalated. With millions of views and thousands of subscribers on Youtube, Curt has created a brand that connects generations of Pittsburghers. We will talk with Curt about growing up in Pittsburgh, raising his family, being a fan of the Pirates, Penguins and Steelers. He will talk about his experiences with local lore around Pittsburgh including restaurants, Kennywood Park and of course Pittsburgh’s very own, Mr. Rogers. Our Decade Definers segment will have “Dad” sharing with us his all-time favorite Pittsburgh athletes.
