What do shoppers actually want in 2026? Do brand vibe, culture, and ethos matter more than the clothes? Is experience-based fashion just better marketing? And what does “integrated fashion” look like when your wardrobe is built around music, sports, clubs, video games, vintage, coffee shops, and the internet? On this episode of Pair of Kings, Sol Thompson and Michael Smith break down the largest survey they've run on fashion preferences, shopping habits, and taste: 1,500+ responses on how people look for, select and justify clothing today. The duo use the season's thesis of “integrated fashion” to interrogate why brand culture matters, how shoppers decide between buying piece-by-piece vs building a full aesthetic, why brand storytelling still works, and what makes a fashion brand captivating enough to hold an audience. We get into Rick Owens, Kozaburo, Rolling Dub Trio, Lost Control cowboy boots, Undercover, Comme des Garçons, Celine, Hedi Slimane, CC41 wartime tailoring, vintage band tees, Bruce Springsteen shirts, KMFDM, Electronic Research Department / ERD, Daft Punk, and controversy-driven fashion marketing.Sol and Michael also discuss Everlane's sale to Shein, sustainability fatigue, ethical fashion, cost per wear, quality vs longevity, resale liquidity, wardrobe economics, consumer inequality, and why the modern fashion industry is selling lifestyles as much as clothing. Further, they ask what sparks the desire to buy: Honey Dijon at Coachella, Saturday Night Fever, The Batman motorcycle jackets, FKA twigs, Interplanetary Criminal, video games, old magazines, X-Files tees, Julian Carter, and archive fashion grails.Other topics include: NYC summer style, Havaianas and flip-flop discourse, Birkenstocks without socks, finance guys in Lululemon khakis and On Running shoes, Kangol hats, men's matching sets, white jeans, World Cup style, vintage soccer jerseys, Newcastle kits, Nike Total 90s, Puma Speedcats, Big Red Boots, brand pop-ups, shock drops, fashion coffee shops, Instagram style discovery, raves, punk shows, clubs, flea markets, Harajuku, Santee Alley, gay clubs, furries, online fashion communities, The Devil Wears Prada 2, whether good marketing can compensate for bad clothes. We hope you enjoy just as much as we did recording.Lots of love!Sol---Episode Tags: fashion podcast 2026, integrated fashion, fashion survey, menswear, streetwear, high fashion, archive fashion, shopping habits, brand culture, experience-based fashion, Rick Owens, Kozaburo, Everlane Shein, sustainable fashion, vintage fashion, World Cup jerseys, Nike Total 90, Puma Speedcat, Celine #fashion #fashionpodcast #rickowens #archivefashion TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 — Intro: 1,300+ Person Integrated Fashion Survey 1:09 — Sol & Michael Introduce the Episode 1:53 — New York Summer Fashion and the Style Reset 2:23 — Fit Check: Birkenstocks, Kapital Denim & Vintage Bruce Springsteen Tee 6:37 — KMFDM Shirt, Vintage T-Shirt Care & Washing Old Tees 7:14 — ERD Daft Punk Shirt, Vintage Resale & Controversial Fashion Marketing 11:42 — NYC Summer Style: Flip-Flops, Havaianas & Birkenstocks 16:27 — Finance Guy Fits: On Running, Lululemon Khakis & No-Show Socks 18:07 — Kangol Hats, Lower East Side Trends & One-Weekend Menswear Fads 20:22 — Matching Sets and Summer 2026 Menswear Predictions 21:16 — White Jeans, Vintage Soccer Jerseys & World Cup Style 25:05 — Everlane, Shein and the Future of Ethical Fashion 26:29 — Sustainability Fatigue and Rick Owens Sustainable Cotton 27:23 — Consumer Economics: Who Fashion Brands Actually Sell To 29:15 — AI Data Centers, Consumption and Environmental Cost 31:10 — Fashion Survey Begins: How Young Shoppers Buy Clothes 32:07 — Do Brand Vibe, Culture and Ethos Matter? 32:44 — Rick Owens, Kozaburo and Buying Into Brand Worlds 35:17 — Wardrobe Building: Piece-by-Piece vs Full Aesthetic 36:06 — Rick Owens Harness Boots and Buying in a Vacuum 40:03 — UJ Militaria, CC41 Wartime Blazer & Archive Menswear 43:00 — Brand Storytelling: Undercover, Sustainability and Fashion Narrative 45:24 — What People Consider Before Buying Clothes 46:14 — Cost Per Wear Debate 50:15 — Sustainability, Ethics, Price, Fit, Resale Liquidity & Durability 52:16 — What Makes People Want to Buy Clothing? 52:41 — Honey Dijon, Coachella, Saturday Night Fever & Cultural Inspiration 56:09 — CDG, Archive Fashion and Mental Catalogs of Grails 56:42 — FKA Twigs, Interplanetary Criminal, Video Games & Fashion Inspiration 57:39 — Do Fashion Influencers Actually Influence Fashion People? 59:38 — The Batman, Motorcycle Jackets & Style Obsession 1:01:13 — Hedi Slimane's Celine “The Dancing Kid” Beanie 1:03:15 — Experience-Based Fashion: Drops, Pop-Ups, Coffee Shops & Activations 1:06:02 — Influencer Gifting, Clothing Waste & FOMO Marketing 1:08:41 — Big Red Boots, Puma Speedcats & Hype Products That Disappear 1:10:01 — Nike Total 90, Slim Soccer Sneakers & Footwear Trends 1:10:20 — Where People Experience Fashion: Raves, Flea Markets, Clubs & Coffee Shops 1:13:37 — Instagram as a Fashion Scene and Style Discovery Tool 1:17:44 — Clubs, Raves and the Anti-Commercial Fashion Scene 1:19:04 — Song of the Week 1:21:58 — The Devil Wears Prada 2, Fashion Movies & Reboot Culture 1:26:37 — Speed Racer, Style Nostalgia & Closing Thoughts 1:26:59 — Outro #FashionPodcast, #Menswear, #Streetwear, #Fashion, #Style, #FashionCulture, #FashionCommunity, #FashionDiscussion, #FashionAnalysis, #FashionCommentary, #MensFashion, #MensStyle, #ArchiveFashion, #FashionArchive, #VintageFashion, #FashionHistory, #DesignerFashion, #LuxuryFashion, #FashionResearch, #FashionWriting, #IntegratedFashion, #FashionTheory, #FashionConsumer, #FashionShopping, #FashionTrends, #FashionIndustry, #FashionMarketing, #BrandCulture, #FashionConsumerBehavior, #FutureOfFashion, #RickOwens, #CommeDesGarcons, #Undercover, #HediSlimane Sol Thompson and Michael Smith explore the world and subcultures of fashion, interviewing creators, personalities, and industry insiders to highlight the new vanguard of the fashion world. Megan chats with Casey Markee about the massive shifts happening in SEO, AI search, semantic content, and what food bloggers must do now to stay visible and profitable. Casey Markee is the owner of internet consultancy Media Wyse. An SEO for over 25 years, he has been working exclusively with food and lifestyle bloggers since 2015. During that time, he's worked with thousands of bloggers across every recipe niche imaginable. He likes long walks to the refrigerator and back and believes bacon and candy corn are gourmet foods. SEO is changing faster than most food bloggers realize. In this episode, Casey breaks down why Google has shifted from keywords to intent, how AI is changing search behavior, and which outdated SEO practices are quietly hurting rankings. He also shares practical strategies for improving recipe content, increasing visibility in AI search, and building a site that can compete long-term in a rapidly evolving landscape. Key Topics Discussed: - Google now prioritizes intent and semantic relevance over exact match keywords. - AI summaries and AI buttons can increase visibility and referral traffic. - Thin and outdated content weakens the overall strength of your site. - Readability matters more than optimization scores from SEO tools. - Internal linking strategy directly impacts rankings and topical authority. - Popups consistently hurt crawl quality and search performance. Popups have a reputation. We've all landed on a site, barely had a second to look around, and been hit with a full-screen form asking for an email address before we even know what the brand sells. That's not a popup problem - that's a strategy problem. A well-timed, well-designed popup is one of the most effective list growth tools an ecommerce brand has. Avoiding them because you don't want to seem pushy doesn't make your site feel more premium - it just means fewer people are entering your email ecosystem every single day. But here's the question I want to ask if you already have one: when did you last actually look at it? Not glance at it - actually open it, put your email in, read through every step, and ask whether it's doing what you'd want it to do for a first-time visitor? For most brands, the honest answer is whenever I first set it up - which might have been a year ago, two years ago, or longer. The details in a popup matter a lot more than most brands realize. And there's one part of it that almost everyone overlooks entirely. In this episode, I walk through the three parts of a popup worth auditing: the trigger, the suppression settings, and the success step - including one counterintuitive recommendation about your discount code that might genuinely surprise you. ✨ In this episode, you'll learn: Why popups get a bad reputation - and why avoiding them is costing you subscribers The difference between a time delay and scroll trigger, and how to decide which makes sense for your site The 80% rule for setting popup timing based on your actual session data Why where your traffic is coming from should influence when your popup fires Two suppression settings worth checking right now - and why showing a popup to existing subscribers is a bad look What the success step is and why it's the most underlooked part of any popup setup Why putting your discount code on the success step is actually working against you What that first open and first click really means for your deliverability - and how your popup can set that up right A popup that's been running untouched for two years isn't a set-it-and-forget-it win. It's just a decision nobody's revisited. Work with Joy Joya: https://joyjoya.com

Bob shows what to watch for, what not to do, and how to safely close the warning without handing your digital house keys to a stranger. Before panic takes over, pause, breathe, and remember: real security doesn't scream at you from a browser window.Stay safe, stay secure, stay curious — and remember my friends, you're never too old to outsmart a scammer.
Matthew "Spot" Fulton of Parkway Business Solutions rejoins Alicia after a year-long sabbatical to share something surprisingly useful: a totally fresh perspective on QBO's new interface, AI features, and bank feeds. Having missed the frustrating transition period, Spot logged back in without the emotional baggage of watching features break in real time -- and found things better than he expected. His "cold return" experience raises a bigger question about whether proximity to the chaos has skewed how accountants assess where QBO actually stands today.Sponsors:Aqqrue - http://uqb.promo/aqqrueMaxima.AI - http://uqb.promo/maxima(00:00) - Welcome to The Unofficial QuickBooks Accountants Podcast (00:49) - Spot Returns After Sabbatical (01:44) - Top ProAdvisor Backstory (02:34) - Logging Back Into QBO (03:34) - Bookmarks and Client Navigation (05:52) - Bank Feeds Speed Wins (06:46) - Receipt Upload Improvements (10:04) - AI Statement Reconciliation (13:50) - AI Tools and Reporting (19:19) - Vendor Names and Popups (20:31) - Upsells and Intuit Ecosystem (22:58) - How Spot Relearned Fast (26:21) - Clients Frustration and Change (27:19) - Accounting Future With AI (32:06) - Intuit Accountant Suite Tweaks (33:18) - Wrap Up and Whats Next LINKSAlicia's book on Amazon: http://royl.ws/conversion-bookPast episodes we reference:Kirsten Thulborn on subtle changes you don't notice: www.uqb.show/139Connect with Matthewhttps://www.parkway.businesshttps://www.linkedin.com/in/parkwayincAlicia's Upcoming Classes4/28/26: Converting from QBDT to QBO: http://royl.ws/QBDT2QBO?affiliate=53939075/12/26: QBO Ledger: http://royl.ws/ledger?affiliate=53939075/19/26: QBO Solopreneur: http://royl.ws/Solopreneur?affiliate=53939075/26/26: QBO Advanced: http://royl.ws/QBO-Advanced?affiliate=53939076/9/26: Intuit Accountant Suite: http://royl.ws/QBOA?affiliate=5393907We want to hear from you!Send your questions and comments to us at unofficialquickbookspodcast@gmail.com.Join our LinkedIn community at https://www.linkedin.com/groups/14630719/Visit our YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/@UnofficialQuickBooksPodcast?sub_confirmation=1 Sign up to Earmark to earn free CPE for listening to this podcasthttps://www.earmark.app/onboarding

Why are brands opting for longer pop-up timelines rather than jumping straight into traditional leases? How are these “test stores” informing permanent leasing decisions? What makes a pop-up successful enough to convert into a long-term tenant? And how is this shift changing the way landlords think about vacancy and merchandising? Tackling those questions are Claire Rose, VP of specialty leasing and partnership marketing, and Joe Aristone, EVP and chief revenue officer at PREIT, the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust. New Money Making Conversations episodes drop daily. I want to alert you, so you don’t miss out on expert analysis and insider perspectives from my guests who provide tips that can help you uplift the community, improve your financial planning, motivation, or advice on how to be a successful entrepreneur. Keep winning! Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Dr. Shica. Interview Purpose The purpose of this interview is to highlight entrepreneurial reinvention, faith‑driven resilience, and product‑based business building, using Dr. Shica’s journey from educator to founder of Dr. Shica’s Bakery as a powerful example of how unexpected setbacks can unlock hidden purpose. The conversation demonstrates that entrepreneurship does not always begin as a plan—it often begins as a response to disruption. Dr. Shica’s story shows how education, discipline, creativity, and belief can transform a side passion into a scalable, nationally relevant brand. Major Themes & Key Takeaways 1. Entrepreneurship Can Be Born From Adversity Dr. Shica did not set out to build a baking business. After losing her job during the COVID‑19 pandemic, she was forced to reassess her future. What began as weekend baking quickly evolved into a business opportunity when encouragement from others met growing demand. Key takeaway: Unexpected endings often reveal opportunities you didn’t know you were prepared for. 2. Education Is Transferable—Even Outside the Classroom With three degrees in education, including a doctorate, Dr. Shica reframes her career transition not as a departure from teaching, but as an extension of it. Through her bakery, she continues to educate consumers about better‑for‑you, plant‑based foods. Key takeaway: Education is not limited to institutions—it can live inside entrepreneurship. 3. Why Vegan Was the Strategic Choice Dr. Shica intentionally built a vegan, plant‑based cookie brand to serve a wider audience, including those with dietary restrictions, health considerations, and evolving food preferences. The goal was inclusivity without sacrificing flavor. Key takeaway: Building products for “everyone” means being intentional about accessibility. 4. Talent Is Sometimes Hidden Until Circumstances Force Discovery Although she came from a family of bakers, Dr. Shica did not recognize her full talent until she had no choice but to act. Customer feedback, pop‑up success, and celebrity validation confirmed what she hadn’t previously claimed for herself. Key takeaway: You may not discover your strongest gift until you are pushed to use it. 5. Pop‑Ups as Proof of Concept Dr. Shica used pop‑ups and kiosks as testing grounds—refining recipes, gathering feedback, and maintaining product standards. Consistency, premium ingredients, and refusing to sell anything less than excellent became core principles. Key takeaway: Small tests create big confidence when done intentionally. 6. Scaling Through Innovation: Cookie Mixes The creation of her cookie dough mix solved multiple challenges: consistency, scalability, and nationwide shipping. What began as an internal solution became a product line customers could take home and recreate. Key takeaway: Scaling often comes from solving an internal problem creatively. 7. Brand Integrity and Consistency Matter Dr. Shica emphasizes that every product carries her heart, soul, and reputation. If something didn’t meet her standards, it was remade—no exceptions. That commitment built trust and repeat business. Key takeaway: Quality is the quiet engine behind brand longevity. 8. Faith + Work Ethic = Sustainability When asked about her secret to success, Dr. Shica centered her answer on faith first, hard work always. She acknowledges the added challenges faced as a minority woman founder and the need for spiritual grounding to navigate buyers, retailers, and scaling pressure. Key takeaway: Faith can fuel consistency when entrepreneurship gets heavy. 9. Vision Beyond the Present Moment Dr. Shica’s long‑term goal is to build a legacy brand—comparable to household names—while ensuring her face, story, and values remain part of the company’s identity for future generations. Key takeaway: Legacy branding connects today’s hustle to tomorrow’s impact. Notable Quotes “I didn’t even know I had this talent until I was laid off.” “I wanted to create something delicious that everyone could enjoy.” “If it wasn’t perfect, I made it again.” “I’m still educating—just through cookies.” “Consistency is everything.” “Jesus, take the wheel.” “Stay prayed up, and then put in the work.” Overall Message Dr. Shica’s interview is a testimony of faith, adaptability, and disciplined creativity. Her journey reinforces that success is not always about following the original plan—it’s about recognizing opportunity, honoring your standards, and trusting the path as it unfolds. Her story shows that when passion meets preparation and belief, even a kitchen dream can become a national brand with purpose and legacy. #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSteve Harvey Morning Show Online: http://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Meet Chef Patty, a food entrepreneur who turned homesickness for Nigerian food into a thriving food truck empire. In Episode 198 of On the Delo, Delo sits down with Chef Patty to explore how she traded healthcare administration for authentic West African cuisine, built Lasgidi Cafe from the ground up with just $50K, and is now planning a brick-and-mortar location to scale her vision.
