It's 1927 and young, destitute woman in Virginia named Carrie Buck stands at the center of an extraordinary legal battle at the forefront of the American eugenics conversation. (an aside/fact: by the 1920s, eugenics had become a global movement). Uneducated and without any support, she spends her youth dreaming about a different future--one separate from her exploitative foster family--unknowing of the ripples her small, country life will have on an entire nation. Flash forward to 2022. Jessa must make a decision: risk her legal career and relationships by leading the charge on an ambitious class action lawsuit or remain silent. She wants to have it all-- the job title of her dreams, a loving marriage with her husband, Vance, and, above all else, a baby. But when her painstaking efforts to conceive fall flat, she struggles to find larger meaning in her life. The decision she makes next threatens to change everything. Faced with the opportunity to take on a pro bono case at a nearby ICE detention center, Jessa decides to pick up the thread of her family's long history of activism by representing detainee Isobel Pérez, hoping to help her secure citizenship and ultimately reunite her with her young daughter. However, what first appears to be a routine immigration case quickly reveals itself as something far more sinister.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

This week with Ed the Sock and Liana Kerzner: the BS behind Conservatives who claim their countries "can't afford" social programs but can afford tax cuts for the super-rich; the love affair between rich Republicans and poor, uneducated voters; it's time for the Loud Left to STFU; how to beat a bully - and it's not with Pierre Poilievre; why pro-Palestinian Americans still think Kamala Harris would have been worse than Trump and more.
If you have ever felt insecure about your education, or if your lack of a degree has held you back from pursuing the life you wanted, this conversation is for you. Christopher Zara, Eenior Editor at Fast Company and author of the book "Uneducated." is proof that traditional paths aren't the only routes to success. Despite being labeled as "emotionally disturbed" in high school and dropping out, Christopher defied the odds and carved out a successful career in journalism without a college degree. Our conversation explores the educational requirements that prevent many from pursuing work they meant for , and the unattainable expectations surrounding higher education. In addition to the absurd costs of college degrees, the extreme competition is making college out of reach for the majority of students. Although a college degree is almost always a hiring requirement for a top media organization, this was not always the case. Earlier in our country's history, journalists came from a variety of blue collar backgrounds. While no one is arguing against the value of a college education, there are also unfortunate trade-offs to the public when journalists don't represent the majority of Americans, Christopher was lucky that his teachers noticed and encouraged his skills in writing. At age 35 when Corstoopher realized he wanted more from his life, he pitched his first article to a magazine, which was accepted. This pivotal moment set him on a path that would eventually lead to his role at Fast Company. Christopher's story is an example of following the path that feels right to you even when you dont fit into the conventional path. Don'smiss Christopher's inspiring story and join us in rethinking the role of education in our lives. Whether you're a student, a parent, or someone considering a career change, this episode will encourage you to forge your own path. https://www.fastcompany.com/user/christopher-zara *************************** PLEASE SHARE THIS EPISODE WITH A FRIEND Follow us on Instagram at @meantforit Sign up for our newsletter here Visit our website at www.meantforit.com, email us directly at contact@meantforit.com We want to hear from you! UNEDUCATED Democrat gets CLOWNED after he said this after Trump LANDSLIDE win!
Today, we talk about all of the craziest reactions to Trump's election win, and how the feminists are falling apart at the seams. As expected, the mainstream media had more than its share of overreactions. From The View's Sunny Hostin calling white women who voted for Trump "uneducated" to Jimmy Kimmel crying on air, the left-wing media simply couldn't wrap its mind around Trump's victory. And women all over social media are trying to punish men for electing Donald Trump by... going celibate? After all, if you voted for Trump, you "failed women." Bio By Christine Field Rhode Island USA I have been intermittent fasting for just under seven years, in addition to trying countless other methods of weight loss. Not all those years were successful because I was doing it wrong and cheating the system. Well, cheating myself is more like it. Initially, I did it wrong. Unclean. Uneducated about how to properly fast, etc., the same things you hear your guests say. I have been overweight my entire life. As a child, I was always the biggest one. I believe that I suffer from insulin issues that go undetected through typical medicine. I have strong reactions to sugar to this day. It's awful. And I still hope to get it out of my life entirely someday. My highest weight was 358 pounds. My current weight is 178. I am 5'8”. I went from a size 26 Womens to a size 6. It's genuinely UNREAL to live in this body. A couple years ago, I bought Gin's book and started listening to her podcasts. That led me to your podcast. Although I love you both, I relate more to your life story in some ways. I clean fast every day. I have been doing this for about 3 years now. I give myself a 4-6 hour window. I now incorporate two days of shorter fasts because I was getting too thin for my frame. My tastes have changed. My life has changed. Fasting reconnected me with life again. Taking the food away and all the accompanying noise put me in a place of openness and readiness to live my best life. I glow. I wake up every day ready to tackle life. I started noticing that the later I ate, the less refreshed I woke up, even if I had fasted. You often speak about how your weight affects your parenting. I resonate with that deeply because I have three sporty children. I coach basketball. I run a football league. I want to be agile and fit. I want to be a great example of health and fitness to them and other children as well. I am that now. Since our last talk, I break my fast most days with fermented food. I crave it now if I don't have it. STRANGE! I follow that up with a protein, then vegetables, then carbs. I am imperfect. I accept that much now. There is no perfect plan. You live and do your best and that's what I do. I do not kill myself working out anymore. This is also new. I set a step goal for myself and enjoy walks whenever I can. I also do a strength video every other day. I fit it in wherever I can. Another new tip- I've stopped thinking so much about what I don't feel like doing. I just do it. The thinking screws me all up!! Our Patreon Supporters Community Please consider joining the Fasting Highway Patreon community. It has been great for all who have joined. In the second hour of the Greg Kelly Show, Greg talked about the JD Vance campaign for Donald Trump and how he is doing a much better job compared to his opponent, Tim Walz, who can't do a public interview without contradicting himself. Moreover he continued talking about the ludicrous narrative the UNEDUCATED left is trying to adapt of drawing a comparison between Donald Trump and Hitler. Learn more about your ad choices. Love is Blind season 6 sparked major backlash from viewers regarding one of the couple's recurring conversations surrounding birth control options. Johnny and Amy focused on only two options being the pill or a vasectomy when discussing advancing their physical relationship. It looks like another couple is struggling with the same topic in season 7. Here to discuss different birth control options and sex education is Dr. Joseph Bouganim an OBGYN at HMH Obstetrics and Gynecology in Wall NJ.

Rob interviews Alfie Best, the UK's only Gypsy billionaire. Alfie shares his incredible journey from rags to riches, revealing the secrets to his success and the challenges he's faced along the way. He also talks about the worst advice he ever received, the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people and the often dark side of being a billionaire. Alfie Best Reveals: Duplication is key to achieving millionaire and billionaire status, but you must progress through each stage Mixing with the right people at each level of success is crucial for personal growth and learning The UK's tax system is driving wealthy entrepreneurs out of the country, which could have long-term consequences Protecting your assets through proper business structuring is essential to avoid losing everything Success comes at a cost, including time with family, health, and facing criticism from others Seeking advice from the wrong people can hold you back, so be selective about who you listen to Embracing failure and learning from it is a fundamental part of the journey to success BEST MOMENTS "Your network is your net worth of who you circulate with." Welcome back to Analyze Scripts, where a psychiatrist and a therapist analyze what Hollywood gets right and wrong about mental health. Today, we are discussing and advocating for the children and teens who have been impacted by the Troubled Teen Industry. The three part series on Netflix, “The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping,” directed by Katherine Kubler, follows former classmates from the Academy at Ivy Ridge which was falsely marketed as a boarding school that supports “troubled” teens. These programs do anything but support their residents with abuse, trauma and deaths occurring regularly. Katherine confronts past staff and provides a paper trail of money leading to nefarious, UNLICENSED and UNEDUCATED people at the top of these organizations. We discuss notable differences between residential/inpatient centers that promote healing and those that abuse. Help us support those who have been impacted by these programs and regulate current programs to promote safety for our most vulnerable populations #breakingcodesilence Stop Institutional Child Abuse Acthttps://www.breakingcodesilence.orgInstagramTikTokWebsiteYoutube Hosted on Acast. Even though child marriage might seem like a thing of the past for some of us, one in five girls globally are still married off under the age of 18. This means that for millions of these child brides, their childhood, education and future have been stolen forever. Uneducated women often end up having worse health and economic outcomes and their families are more vulnerable to climate change. To free girls from this nightmarish practice, Ugandan activist Joan Kembabazi has been challenging traditional beliefs in her community and advocating for girls‘ education and empowerment. In this interview, Joan talks about why child marriage happens, what it‘s like to be a child bride and what needs to be done to eliminate this practice. Joan Kembabazi is the Founder & CEO of the Gufasha Girls Foundation. She campaigns against child marriage and advocates for girls‘ education in rural communities in central Uganda and beyond. The NoDegree Podcast – No Degree Success Stories for Job Searching, Careers, and Entrepreneurship
He was placed in the special education system. But, Christopher Zara's so-called “behavioral issues” continued so, he got kicked out of high school in the 11th grade. Zara still went on to get his GED and at 32 he found himself working at a picture frame shop. He didn't enjoy his job. Occasionally he reflected on the few teachers that told him he was a good writer. Those embers of encouragement were enough to spark a flame of hope and pushed him to pursue writing. Listen in as he talks about getting kicked out of high school, overcoming addiction, finding a book that helped him to get his career in journalism started. He shares insights on building a portfolio without a degree, and his early work experiences, his book 'Uneducated', and handling imposter syndrome.Timestamps:(0:00) Introduction to the episode and guest, Christopher Zara(4:43) The changing landscape of journalism and the shift towards independent journalism(6:06) Building a portfolio in journalism and salary ranges(10:29) Need resume help?(11:28) High school experience: Behavioral issues, getting kicked out and getting his GED(12:43) Embers of Encouragement from teachers: The reason Christopher believed he could write(13:39) After high school: Drugs, overcoming addiction and other work experiences(16:33) How an unpaid internship got him a foot in the door(18:44) Lessons from the first job(20:26) Learning about the online journalism industry and transitioning to larger organizations(27:44) Reflecting on career decisions and overcoming the 'imposter syndrome'(33:12) How the applicant tracking systems affected his job search because he didn't have a degree(34:51) Skills-based hiring is on the rise vs the strong branding of college(36:08) The purpose of Christopher's book 'Uneducated' and the importance of viewing education holisticallySupport/Contact Christopher:Linktree: https://linktr.ee/christopherzara LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christopherzara/Books and resources mentioned in this podcast: Resume course: https://bit.ly/podcastpca Uneducated by Christophe4r Zara: https://amzn.to/46Jv515 Need career or resume advice? In a heart-wrenching episode of the "Hidden Killers" podcast, host Tony Brueski and guest, Trial Consultant and Body Language Expert, Susan Constantine, dove deep into a haunting tale of misdiagnosis, systemic failures, and profound loss. Their discussion prompts a disturbing question: Are some children being taken away from their loving homes based on misunderstandings and flawed assessments? Brueski paints a grim picture of the situation, noting, “We have so many issues, it seems with CPS. And things not being taken action on, and children being left in horrific situations. What is going on here where we have kids that literally have good homes...ripped out of their parents arms when they need the most?” Constantine's connection to this issue is deeply personal. She recounts the story of a close friend whose children were forcibly removed because of a misdiagnosis: Munchausen's by proxy disorder. The disorder, in its essence, is when a caregiver or parent fabricates, exaggerates, or induces illness in a person under their care for attention or other gains. However, as Constantine points out, it was “debunked almost five years ago” and is now referred to as a "fictitious disorder." This leads to the harrowing account of Maya Kowalski, a child experiencing excruciating pain that baffled medical professionals. As her mother sought answers and treatments both within the United States and beyond, she was met with skepticism and mistrust. Despite the mother's attempts to articulate her daughter's journey and the treatments she'd discovered, it was misconstrued as over-medicalization. Ultimately, it led to a tragic end with Maya's mother succumbing to despair and taking her own life. One of the most chilling aspects discussed is the potential for a financial incentive in removing children from their homes. Vinnie Politan, as mentioned by Constantine, explored this on Court TV. But beyond financial motives lies the broader issue of trust in so-called "expert" assessments. Constantine expressed her frustration, saying, “it's mind-blowing to me that we are getting to a place where these authorities that are so-called experts are trained...and diagnosing or to see the symptoms of abuse and how wrong they can be.” Dr. Chopra, a pain medical doctor who testified in a related trial, painted a picture of the severity of Maya's pain, emphasizing that it surpassed that of childbirth, cancer, or even amputation. How could a parent, desperate for relief for their child, be so grossly misunderstood? One figure repeatedly mentioned in the podcast is Dr. Sally Smith, who diagnosed several cases as Munchausen's by proxy, including Maya's and a runner-up from American Idol. This, as Constantine states, represents a "real problem" with officials "taking matters into their own hands, causing so much distress, anxiety, endangerment, mental and physical, to these children." Towards the end of the episode, listeners are reminded of the profound humanity at the heart of this issue. Constantine recounts a moving encounter outside a courtroom with Maya's grieving family. The group, united by shared pain, found solace in praying together, a moment that underscored the very real emotional toll of these systemic issues. In light of this conversation, we are left to grapple with the complex interplay of medical, societal, and bureaucratic factors that can have devastating impacts on families. Yet, as Brueski and Constantine demonstrate, there is also space for empathy, understanding, and a collective call to action. As we reflect on the issues discussed, we are left with a haunting question: How many more families must suffer before systemic changes are implemented? Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
