Everyone in a fight has their side of the story. That story is a crafted message that can keep someone in the fight, convince them to stop fighting, and convince bystanders you are the good guy worth helping or the bad guy worth piling onto. Police in America are struggling with an increasingly hostile public narrative that degrades morale, budgets, recruiting, and public cooperation when you need it most. In irregular warfare, the narrative may have more impact than the guided missiles. The conversation focuses on practical storytelling skills leaders need to operate effectively in contested environments. Check out this episode to learn how tactical actions reverberate at the operational and strategic levels, why "neutrality" is often a false posture, and how to communicate facts through compelling, ethical narratives that build credibility rather than erode it. This month's podcast, is a leadership conversation every pastor needs. I share why God promotes through precision, not position, and how biblical leaders like Noah, Bezalel, Daniel, and Jesus Himself modeled excellence in the little things that no one else noticed. These small details are what elevate a ministry, sharpen a staff, and take a church from good to exceptional. I also give a quick update on our January 18 transition as Pastor Josh steps into the Lead Pastor role here at Rock and I move into the Founding Pastor position, to allow more time to coach and support pastors like you. Ministry can be lonely, and I want you to know I'm in your corner.

The parable of the mustard seed reveals that God's kingdom grows through small, faithful actions rather than grand gestures. Just as the tiny mustard seed becomes a large tree over time, our spiritual lives are built through daily moments of obedience and trust. This principle applies to marriage, parenting, career, and faith - all are strengthened through consistent small steps. The key is taking ownership of what we can control, fostering growth through intentional effort, trusting God's timing, and embracing eternal purposes. Small beginnings with faithful tending can create extraordinary results that ultimately serve others and glorify God.

Par to padziļinātu pētījumu 2012. gadā publicēja arheologs Roberts Spirģis. Lai arī šādas grāmatas bijušas vairākas, pētnieks izvēlējies "The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference" (Lūzumpunkts: kā mazas lietas var izraisīt lielas pārmaiņas), ko sarakstījis kanādiešu rakstnieks Malkoms Gladvels (Malcolm Gladwell).

I sat down with Cara Chatellier, the founder and creative director of Bubbly Creative, to talk about something that hits home for every small business owner, the little things. You know, those simple, doable tweaks that don't require a rebrand or a six-month strategy sprint, yet somehow manage to make your marketing sparkle. Cara calls them her “five tiny fixes,” and I couldn't wait to dig in. Cara's agency focuses on helping women-led service businesses stand out with personality and polish. Her approach is rooted in storytelling, strategy, and plenty of real-world experience. What I love about her “tiny fixes” is that they're both practical and immediately actionable, the kind of steps that give you momentum while you're building toward the big picture. Here are a few highlights from our conversation: 1. Show Your Face Cara's first piece of advice is one that makes many small business owners squirm: put yourself out there. Literally. Swap the stock photos and text-heavy posts for images of you and your team. A professional photo shoot is worth the investment, not just because it looks great, but because it builds trust. When people can see who they're working with, they're more likely to connect and buy. 2. Don't Ignore Google Business Think of your Google Business Profile as a free billboard that most folks forget to update. Add photos, post updates, and ask for client reviews. Even with AI changing how people search, Google still looks inward first. Keeping your profile fresh helps you stay visible and relevant. 3. Ask for Feedback, the Right Way Sometimes, the best marketing insights come from the people you want to reach, not the ones already on your team. Cara suggests gathering a small group from your target audience, maybe five to ten people, and asking them to look at your content, website, or social posts. No sales pitch, just honest opinions. You might be surprised by what they see that you don't. 4. Tell Your Story on Video This is the one that makes even confident entrepreneurs gulp: video. Cara swears by it because it humanizes your brand faster than any post or blog ever could. Start small, a short clip about your founder story or a behind-the-scenes look at your work. If you're nervous, use a teleprompter app or jot down a few bullet points to stay on track. And if you really can't face the camera yet, write out your story and share it with a few photos. Then revisit it every six months as a reintroduction to your audience. 5. Stay Curious (and Keep Learning) Cara's fifth tip was the one we didn't have time to cover on the show, a little mystery to encourage you to head over to Bubbly Creative and discover the rest for yourself. Trust me, it's worth it. Key Takeaways A few small tweaks can give your marketing fresh energy without overwhelming your to-do list. Personal photos and video build connection and credibility faster than any stock image ever will. Google Business is free, underused, and powerful, make it part of your content routine. Feedback from your ideal audience is marketing gold; you just have to ask. The more you share your authentic story, the more magnetic your brand becomes. If you want to dive deeper into Cara's “tiny fixes,” head over to Bubbly Creative and check out her insights. Because sometimes, it's not the sweeping overhaul that changes your business, it's the little things you finally take the time to do.

Welcome back to Mommin' on a Monday with Mindset Coach Taylor Foreman! Taylor talks about how the smallest shifts can make the biggest difference!
How do some people really not understand the difference when it's the *government* censoring your free speech vs a private company?

As we head into Labor Day weekend, I'm flexing one of my superpowers: organizing information. In this episode of The Pharmacist's Voice Podcast, I share the story behind my book binder — a simple but powerful system that helps me keep track of dozens of book recommendations and the 20–30 books I read each year. You'll hear how I went from barely finding time to read as a busy mom to becoming an audiobook enthusiast with a binder full of possibilities. I'll also share 26 books currently on my “to be read” list (plus the Spy School series I'm enjoying with my son Kraig). Maybe you'll discover your next great read from this podcast episode! Even if books aren't your thing, you'll walk away with this takeaway: what makes you weird might actually be your superpower. For me, it's organizing information. For you, it could be something else entirely — and when you embrace it, life gets easier, less stressful, and more fun. You just might help other people too!
Staying lean isn't about overhauling your entire lifestyle overnight. it's about stacking small, sustainable habits that actually stick. In this episode, we dive into the everyday choices that make the biggest difference when it comes to feeling strong, energetic, and confident year-round. We start by talking about why highly satiating foods are your best friend (especially during those times when hunger seems dialed up) and how minimizing calorie-dense “extras” can keep you feeling satisfied without the crash. From there, we break down the power of a “something over nothing” mentality when it comes to resistance training because it's not about perfection, it's about consistency. You'll also hear why making physical activity a lifestyle is key. Omar shares how Spartan races with his family keep him motivated, I talk about my time riding horses, and we both agree that nothing beats a simple walk. We also unpack the sneaky calories that come from what we drink, why sleep is the real performance enhancer, and how patience and consistency are often the missing ingredients in most fitness journeys. Most importantly, we'll remind you not to obsess over the scale or occasional feelings of heaviness. Progress is much deeper than a number. And when it comes to food, just because it's free doesn't mean you have to eat it. The goal is to choose intentionally, not impulsively. If you've been searching for a realistic, non-extreme approach to staying lean, this episode will give you practical tools and a mindset shift that can last a lifetime. Then, a story from chapter 3 of the book, as Dr. Charlotte Boling shares her personal experience with a fifth-grade teacher who went above and beyond to meet both her academic and emotional needs after a family tragedy. This episode addresses questions such as:Why are a teacher's "little moments" often the ones that leave the most lasting impression? How can educators create a sense of security and belonging for students during times of change?Recommended Resources: Beyond the Ordinary: A 400th Episode Reflection, The Extraordinary Gift: Our Teachers, The Lasting Impact of a Caring EducatorPurchase The Extraordinary Gift: Our Teachers at https://studereducation.com/books.

You think you know what's making you feel exhausted, anxious, or unwell. You blame stress, your hormones, or bad luck. But what if one of the biggest factors is in over half the food you eat and you've been told it's “healthy”?This week's guest, Milli Hill, is an award-winning journalist, speaker, and author whose latest work reveals the hidden role ultra-processed foods play in women's health. From autoimmune disease, depression, and infertility to painful periods, menopause symptoms, and chronic inflammation, her research exposes a truth that's been hiding in plain sight and asks why we've normalised women's suffering for so long.We explore: – Why women face higher rates of autoimmune disease, depression, and the role of ultra-processed food – How UPFs fuel inflammation, disrupt the gut microbiome, and affect long-term health – The marketing tricks behind “healthy” products that keep us hooked – Why reducing UPFs is about reclaiming nourishment, not restriction– Practical swaps that fit into busy lives without overwhelm – The cultural loss of cooking, eating, and connection, and how to bring it backYou deserve answers your doctor might not have given you. This conversation is about taking back control of what nourishes you, asking the questions women's health has ignored for too long, and making changes that support your body, mind, and future one choice at a time.Connect with Milli Hill: Website: https://www.millihill.co.uk/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/millihill/ Twitter/X: https://twitter.com/millihill Books: Give Birth Like a Feminist, The Positive Birth Book, My Period

Did you like this episode? Dislike it? Too many law firms lead with how long they've been around or how much they've won—but clients care more about what you can do for them. In this episode, John and Mike break down why shifting from features to benefits in your content can be a total game-changer. If you want messaging that connects, this switch is where it starts.
Let's be real. “critical path” thinking is destroying your jobsite. In this punchy, no-BS episode, Jason Schroeder breaks down the dangerous myth of the critical path and introduces something far more powerful: the Path of Critical Flow. You'll hear: Why “knowing the critical path” is actually making you push, panic, and waste time. The brutal truth about crashing schedules (and how it hurts, not helps). The smarter way to plan using buffers, flow, and sequencing. How to spot bottlenecks and fix them without burning out your team. A hilariously sharp analogy involving babysitting, fake kidnappers, and parental panic. If you've ever been told to work weekends, throw labor at it, or just get it done, you need this episode. Forget panic. Plan with flow. Build with sanity.
In 1996, Dave Mowry had a total breakdown. He was driving down the freeway. under a lot of stress, and his mind was racing. And then, his mind snapped. He heard it like a snapping twig and felt it like a small electric shock in his brain. He was broken. He lost everything and was homeless for 18 months. He was living in hell for 14 months. Dave Mowry's story is one that you will want to share with anyone who is struggling with or has a family member battling mental illness. His story is one of inspiration, healing, and hope. He has lived with bipolar disorder and severe anxiety his entire adult life. He was a successful businessman until he lost it all due to mental illness. After 14 lost years and being homeless with his family for 18 months, Dave took a stand-up comedy class for people with a mental illness. It changed everything. He went from his mental illness having control over him to finding the humor in his experiences and regaining control of his life. Dave teaches stand-up comedy to people with a mental illness and performs on stage. We find humor in our pain and tell our stories one joke at a time. We let people know that they are not alone and that it is okay to laugh about our challenges, and shatter stigma. Winner: Best bipolar disorder books of all time by BookAuthority. What started as a couple of blog posts blossomed into a following of over one million people who have read and been touched by Mowry's stories. The most extraordinary thing he found when writing about his experiences is that the most common comment about his work is “OMG, that's me”. You are telling my story. I don't feel so alone now. Living with mental illness is hard, but it's especially difficult when dealing with more than one condition at the same time. Many books about coping with mental illness focus on one disorder, such as anxiety, panic attacks, or depression. Because Dave Mowry didn't see any that dealt with his situation of living with multiple disorders simultaneously, he decided to write about it himself. OMG That's Me! It is sometimes funny, often poignant, but always deeply honest, open, and personal. Mowry's stories let others know there is help and there is hope, and that they too can recover and live a full life. This book is a must-read for family members and friends who will gain true insight into the experiences of loved ones living with a mental illness. This book is a must-read for mental health professionals who will better understand the symptoms faced by their patients. And ordinary people will see the strength, resilience, and beauty of people who will shatter the stigma surrounding mental illness.
