Pizza Bomber - The Untold Story of America's Most Shocking Bank RobberyJul 27, 2023The bizarre, true story of a robbery gone wrong and the explosive murder that shocked the nation—as seen on Netflix's docuseries Evil Genius. For the first time, two of the people who followed the story from the beginning—Jerry Clark, the lead FBI Special Agent who cracked what became known as the Pizza Bomber case, and investigative reporter Ed Palattella—tell the complete story of what happened on August 28, 2003.In the suburbs of Erie, Pennsylvania, a pizza delivery man named Brian Wells was accosted by several men who locked a time bomb around his neck. They then ordered him to rob a bank. After delivering the money, he would receive clues to help him disarm the bomb. It was one of the most ingenious bank robbery schemes in history, known as Collarbomb by the FBI. It did not go according to plan.Wells, picked up by police shortly after the robbery, never found the clues he needed. Investigating the crime after his grisly death, the FBI soon discovered that Wells was not, in fact, an innocent victim. He was merely the first co-conspirator to fall in a bizarre trail of death following the crime...Book : Pizza Bomber: The Untold Story of America's Most Shocking Bank RobberyBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

On this highly controversial episode of Bring the Pain, I finally reveal my thoughts on the Pizza Bomber case, which has made many people wonder how such a crazy thing could happen. This episode isn't about the case or documentary, but I will bring those things up at times to link some of the time periods between my story and the time period that this happened in. I talked about meeting most of the people in that documentary, and one of them actually being a family member. At the same time, I expose some of them for what they really were, and that's monsters. You're going to have to buckle up for this one because this is going to be one helluva ride that will lead you on a journey into the dark side of humanity. Have a great day, everyone, and may the sanity be with you. Thank you for the support and contributions all of you make for my podcasts and articles each week. Y'all the real #Painbringers! 28 agosto 2003, Pennsylvania. Siamo a Eerie, in Pennsylvania. When Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong took the stand, one could almost feel the collective anticipation in the courtroom. The jury watched, their faces etched with skepticism. And the moment she began to speak, it became palpable—her words weren't convincing them. After her performance, the jury sequestered for 11 grueling hours, dissecting every piece of evidence, every testimony. When they reemerged, the weight of their decision was monumental. In final episode of "Some Women Just Want to Watch the World Burn," we reveal Diehl Armstrongs's fate, and explore conflicting interpretations of the, "truth," behind the "Pizza Bomber," murders...This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5496890/advertisement
Within mere hours of dialing 911, Bill Rothstein found himself in police custody. His claim of enduring weeks of emotional agony was corroborated by the evidence investigators unearthed at his residence: a collection of power tools and supplies of professional grade, akin to the materials used in crafting the notorious collar bomb. In the labyrinth of Bill's personal effects, authorities discovered a handwritten suicide note. Authored in stark black ink, the note conveyed his regret, "To those who cared for or about me," identified a corpse in his freezer as James Roden, and explicitly stated he "did not kill him, nor participate in his death." Intriguingly, the note carried a specific disclaimer: “This has nothing to do with the Wells case.” On today's episode we delve into the enigmatic friend for whom Rothstein was storing a body, and the unsettling aftermath of his 911 call.Listen to PART II of Kinda Murdery's investigation of the, "Pizza Bomber," story now!CALL 888-MURDERY that's 888-687-3379 to share YOUR Kinda Murdery story and inspire and episode of the show!Sources: https://www.ranker.com/list/weirdest-true-stories/patrick-thorntonhttps://pizzabomber.com/timeline-of-pizza-bomber-events/ https://www.goerie.com/story/news/crime/2018/05/01/diehl-armstrong-unique-deadly-criminal/12255559007/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Brian_Wells https://medium.com/p/e4114152b60e https://medium.com/@drhpod/the-pennsylvania-pizza-bomber-6986f451eb3d https://www.goerie.com/story/news/crime/2018/08/28/for-erie-s-diehl-armstrong/984919007/ https://www.tmz.com/2018/05/27/jerry-clark-evil-genius-fbi-agent-denies-hooker-jessica-confession/This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5496890/advertisement

We are back! This week we are covering the case that Netflix called 'Evil Genius' but was given the moniker 'The Pizza Bomber' in 2003. It started as a bank heist that had many odd turns and questioned 'who was the mastermind?'
On August 28, 2003, FBI Special Agent Jerry Clark responded to a bank robbery in Erie, PA. This was no ordinary bank robbery. Instead, it would become one of the most complex investigations in the history of the FBI. Brian Wells tried to rob a bank with an explosive collar around his neck that was on a timer. Finch was supposed to follow a trail of clues after robbing the bank to get the collar removed. He never made it. After the grisly death of Finch in front of law enforcement, Clark worked for the next seven years to bring everyone involved in the case to justice. MM's telling a story that is full of way too many twists and turns to be contained in one episode: the 2003 murder of Brian Wells, which included a collar bomb, a bank heist, and lots of evil masterminding from Marjorie Diehl Armstrong. Also included, a BTS/Ginger Demon update. MM texting Katy about booby traps prompts no context questions or follow-ups. Authorities go on the worst scavenger hunt ever. All important and sex-related contact info should go in a Lisa Frank address book. Werewolves are not Katy's brand. Keep your ears... peeled(?)... for cameos from both PA Moxie and PA Oliver Queen.
