Le 16 mai 2024, dans les Pyrénées Orientales à une dizaine de kilomètres de Perpignan, 4500 personnes défilaient contre un projet de golf à 18 trous s'étalant sur 180 hectares. Une entreprise pharaonique portée depuis 20 ans par la maire LR de Villeneuve-de-la-Raho, Jacqueline Irles. Un site ouvert à 360 degrés sur la chaîne des Pyrénées sur un des rares espaces encore intact de cette zone périurbanisée, juste en bordure de lac. Le complexe comprendra un hôtel 4 étoiles, une piscine et 600 logements. Le département a connu une sécheresse record en 2023, une situation préoccupante qui fragilise le secteur du tourisme et celui de l'agriculture. En février dernier, 92 enseignants, chercheurs et ingénieurs de l'Université de Perpignan ont co-signé une tribune pour alerter sur l'ampleur des effets du réchauffement climatique dans le département. Ils appellent les élus à prendre des décisions à même de permettre au territoire de s'adapter et dénoncent la poursuite de projets comme celui du golf de La Raho, qu'ils jugent « emblématique d'une vision dépassée ». Pire encore, alors que les travaux du golf ont débuté en novembre 2023, des présomptions d'infractions graves planent autour du projet. Certains expropriés ont déposé plainte avec constitution de partie civile auprès du Procureur de la République. La guerre du Golf ne fait que commencer ! Secondo il vicepresidente della Commissione antimafia Cafiero de Raho, “Schiavone conosce i nomi degli imprenditori collusi e sa dove è nascosta la cassaforte del clan”. Non è poco.  La scelta di Schiavone di pentirsi ha un alto valore simbolico per il messaggio di resa che trasmette alle giovani leve del clan, le cui azioni sono state disarticolate dai duri colpi inferti negli ultimi anni dalla Dda di Napoli. Ora bisognerà capire cosa Sandokan sia in grado di rivelare agli inquirenti dopo 26 anni ininterrotti di carcere duro. Tra i segreti che potrebbe custodire c'è anche quello relativo alla misteriosa scomparsa del rivale Antonio Bardellino, ucciso in Brasile nel 1988 su suo ordine. Il caso rimane ancora aperto dal pm Vincenzo Ranieri della Dda di Napoli, che nei mesi scorsi ha ordinato alcune perquisizioni tra il casertano e il basso Lazio: una delle ipotesi è che Bardellino non sia stato ucciso nel 1988 e che sia invece rimasto all'estero, tra Sudamerica e Stati Uniti, per molto tempo, e oggi avrebbe 78 anni.
