Backed by Amazon and Volkswagen, Rivian aims to expand EV accessibility through advanced, software‑led design.   Volvo EX40 to use SPA3  Volvo's upcoming EX40 will debut the SPA3 platform with cell‑to‑body batteries, new motors and megacasting for major cost and efficiency gains. Launching in 2027 under $50,000, it will offer up to 350 miles of range and support future‑ready tech.   Tesla trims Model 3 features  Tesla's new base Model 3 and Model Y remove certain comfort and powered features to cut cost and entry price. The pared‑back design lowers prices to make ownership more accessible, though with slightly reduced performance and range.   BYD sales surge overseas  BYD's September German registrations jumped 2,225% year‑on‑year, driving European growth despite softer China demand. Overseas sales rose 123% to 697,000 units this year, reinforced by upcoming local assembly plants in Hungary, Brazil, and Uzbekistan.   Skoda overtakes BMW in German BEV sales   Skoda has climbed to second place in Germany's BEV market behind Volkswagen with 34,567 sales, edging out BMW. Using Fuso eCanters and Mercedes eSprinters, the rollout supports FedEx's goal to fully electrify its fleet by 2040.   Fuell assets sold   Fuell, Erik Buell's electric mobility firm, sold its assets for just $170,000 following bankruptcy and low awareness. The sale concludes a once‑promising venture, though a new owner could yet revive the innovative brand.   Pakistan's fake “graphene” batteries issue   About 90% of Pakistan's e‑bikes reportedly use mislabeled lead‑acid “graphene” batteries, undermining EV subsidy goals. Industry leaders are urging the government to shift incentives toward true lithium‑ion systems for quality and consumer protection.

Xiaomi blijft maar bevestigen dat het in 2027 naar Europa komt. Dus dan zal het wel echt zo zijn. Volkswagen bevestigt dat de ID.Every1 ook in 2027 komt, net als de Nissan Wave (broertje van de nieuwe Renault Twingo). Of de richtingaanwijzers van de Chinese Tesla Model 3 ook naar Europa komen is nog even de vraag. Dat de Kia EV4 na de zomer 2025 in Nederland verschijnt is wel zeker. De laatste EV die we bespreken is nog niet bevestigd, maar zal waarschijnlijk wel komen, het is de Hyundai Ioniq 3 (broertje van de Kia EV3). Deze kunnen we hopelijk al op de IAA in München aanschouwen. Als achtergrondverhaal gaat het over een onderzoek waarbij in 2027 (alweer dit jaartal) de EV goedkoper is dan de brandstofauto. Dit komt door vier zaken. Tevens is het interessant om te lezen dat er een voorzichtig akkoord is op een handelsdeal tussen Europa en de VS waarbij het wellicht gemakkelijker/goedkoper wordt om een auto te importeren vanuit Amerika naar Europa en visa versa. Als afsluiter onze primeurlijst van de aankomende IAA. Dla Przemka był to dzień, gdy jako ostatni w kolejce, stojąc przed wyborem kierunku studiów, postanowił odrzucić geografię, którą wszyscy jego znajomi uznali za oczywisty wybór, i złożył papiery na informatykę. Ten odważny krok był początkiem drogi, która doprowadziła go do stworzenia innowacyjnego narzędzia, z którego korzysta dziś 15 000 firm. Jak zacząć, gdy masz tylko marzenia? Przemek od młodości fascynował się technologią. Na studiach zamiast odpoczywać, spędzał noce na programowaniu, ucząc się na własnych błędach. Pierwsze projekty realizował, aby „sprawdzić, czy da radę”. Jeden z nich wynagrodzono… samochodem Renault Twingo. Choć historia spalonego auta mogła skończyć się tragicznie, Przemek wspomina ten moment jako pierwszy kamień milowy w swojej karierze. Ryzyko: Decyzje, które zmieniają życie Już jako młody przedsiębiorca postawił na swoje zasady: brak kompromisów i praca na 200%. Po latach tworzenia rozwiązań dla innych firm, przyszedł moment przełomowy — inwestor, który zauważył jego potencjał i zaproponował współpracę. „To nie zdarza się codziennie. On uwierzył w zespół, a nie w gotowy produkt” — wspomina Przemek. W ten sposób powstał Mizzox, narzędzie, które eliminuje chaos organizacyjny w małych i średnich firmach. Dla Przemka czas to najcenniejszy zasób. Stąd motto: „Działaj teraz, bo jeśli upadniesz, zawsze możesz wstać, ale nie odzyskasz straconych chwil.” Każdy krok jego kariery to dowód, że ryzyko, jeśli podejmowane świadomie, prowadzi do wielkich rzeczy. Po dwóch latach od startu Mizzoxa, Przemek zarządza narzędziem, które wspiera tysiące firm. Ale jak sam mówi, to dopiero początek. „Nie chodzi o to, ile zarobisz, ale co stworzysz. Volkswagen en Renault gaan niet samenwerken bij de ontwikkeling van een kleine elektrische auto. De gesprekken tussen Volkswagen en Renault om samen een betaalbare elektrische auto te produceren zijn geklapt. Dat meldt Reuters. Het doel van de samenwerking was om kosten te besparen bij de ontwikkeling van de elektrische Renault Twingo en ID.1. Volgens bronnen komt het niet tot een deal, omdat Volkswagen zich heeft teruggetrokken. Verder in deze auto-update: Lamborghini vindt het te vroeg voor volledig elektrische sportauto. Hicimos un podcast de coches pesados… y rápidamente muchos me pedisteis éste, el de coches ligeros. ¡Y rápidamente lo hemos hecho! ¡Somos muy cumplidores! Pasamos de hablar de coches de 3 toneladas a coches de 300 y pico kg… ¡qué diferencia! Y os traigo nada menos que 15… porque he hecho unas pequeñas trampitas. Y es que hacer hoy día y con coches actuales de venta al público una lista de coches ligeros, casi equivale a hacer una lista de coches sencillos y baratos. Y es que podría deciros, sencilla y llanamente, que “los coches ligeros han muerto”. Por eso junto a coches de serie de venta en la actualidad os he traído algunos ejemplos de coche ligeros que no son actuales, pero son una referencia en este asunto. Y ya, para acabar de complicarlo todo he elegido coches actuales o muy actuales, pero… ¡un pero muy gordo!... ¡artesanales! 1. LCC Rocket. 386 kg. (1991). Con solo 386 kilogramos, anunciaba un 0 a 100 km/h en 4,4 segundos y solo se fabricaron 55 unidades. 2. Caterham Seven 170R. 440 kg. (Actualidad). La versión 170 R con motor Suzuki turboalimentado de 660 cm3 y 84 CV, marca sólo 440 kg en la báscula, lo que le permite acelerar de 0 a 100 en 6,9 segundos. 3. Renault Twizy. 450 kg. (Actualidad). Un coche diseñado y nacido para la ciudad y que debe su peso, entre otras cosas, a su reducido tamaño: 2,3 metros de largo y 1,4 metros de ancho. A pesar de ser eléctrico, era muy ligero, pero eso se pagaba en autonomía, que rondaba los 60 kilómetros. 4. De Tomaso Vallelunga. 500 kg. (1964). Cuando hablas de “De Tomaso” muchos piensan en preciosos deportivos con motor V8… lo que es cierto. Pero entre los años 1964 y 1968 nació este Vallelunga con un motor de 1,5 litros del Ford Cortina. 5. Fiat 500. 500 kg. (1957). Solo pesaba 500 kilos, pero su nombre no proviene del peso sino de la cilindrada de su motor bicilíndrico de refrigeración por aire, inicialmente 479 cm3 y 20 CV. 6. Lotus Elan. 584 kg. (1960). El mismo tío que decía “quítame un kg antes de darme un caballo” diseñó este coche. Hablamos por supuesto de Colin Chapman que fue el creador del Lotus Elan que pesaba 584 kilos, gracias a su chasis de viga central de acero y su carrocería de fibra de vidrio. 7. MINI 850. 580 kg. (1959). Quizás en este caso la ligereza fue una consecuencia, más que un objetivo. Porque el Mini era un coche pequeño, muy pequeño. Y bastante simple. Con el motor de cuatro cilindros y 850 cm3, el Mini pesaba 580 kilogramos. 8. Ariel Atom. 595 kg. (Actualidad). Tengo debilidad por los modelos fabricados por Ariel y en particular por el Atom. Hablamos de un biplaza con motor del Civic Type R, un 2.0 Turbo de 320 CV para 595 kg y consigues un “pepino” capaz de acelerar de 0 a 100 km/h en apenas 2,8 segundos. 9. Citroën AX. 640 kg. (1986). En el caso del AX la ligereza no era el objetivo principal… pero era el objetivo. Citroën quería un coche con un consumo muy bajo y para eso el peso es clave. El diseño del chasis, el empleo masivo del plástico e ideas muy originales, como el portón trasero sin estructura metálica, sino usando el propio cristal como estructura, permitieron un peso de 640 kg. 10. Spartan. 680 kg. (Actualidad). Este coche no es de las islas británicas, pero sí de una isla muy grande: Australia. La receta es parecida a la del Ariel: estructura tubular, carrocería de fibra de carbono, motor trasero 2.4 Honda de 275 CV y un peso de 680 kg en su versión básica. La aceleración de 0 a 100 es de sólo 3,3 segundos. 11. Suzuki Ignis. 935 kg. (Actualidad). El Ignis es el campeón de los coches ligeros producidos en grandes series. Hablamos de la versión básica, el Hybrid 2WD con el acabado más reducido con un peso en orden de marcha de sólo 935 kg. 12. Renault Twingo. 940 kg. (Actualidad). Aquí hacemos otra pequeña trampa porque en el momento de grabar este video la versión con motor de gasolina 1.0 SCE de 65 CV, la más ligera y que pesa solo 940 kg, no está disponible en España sonde solo se vende el eléctrico. Su aceleración de 0 a 100 km/h llega a los 15,1 segundos. 12+1. Mitsubishi Space Star. 940 kg. (Actualidad). El actual en su versión básica 1.2 pesa también 940 kg. con motor de gasolina de 1,2 litros y 71 CV. Tampoco es un “dragster” y acelera de 0 a 100 en 14,1 segundos. 14. Suzuki Swift. 965 kg. (Actualidad). Cuenta con la misma mecánica híbrida ligera de 83 CV del Ignis y acelera de 0 a 100 en 12 segundos además de tener un consumo muy bajo, en ciclo combinado: 4,7 litros cada 100 km. 15. Kia Picanto. 978 kg. (Actualidad). Y cerramos esta lista con el Picanto, al borde de la tonelada de peso en su variante más básica con motor 1.0 DPi de 67 CV pesa tan sólo 978 kg. acelera de 0 a 100 en 14,6 segundos y su consumo combinado es de 5,0 litros cada 100 km.

Sébastien est un passionné de voitures depuis son enfance, avec un parcours professionnel riche et varié, allant de l'informatique à l'agriculture. Sa rencontre avec Franck Lefevre, qui a apporté la notion de durabilité au projet, a été déterminante pour la création de Lormauto en 2020, une entreprise visant à transformer des voitures thermiques en électriques tout en garantissant leur durabilité. Alors, nous plongeons, avec eux, au cœur de Lormauto, une entreprise qui se veut être le premier néo-constructeur automobile à produire des voitures électriques durables, garanties à vie. Le concept est révolutionnaire : prendre des véhicules existants, comme la Renault Twingo, et les transformer de fond en comble pour les rendre électriques, confortables, connectées et surtout durables. Lormauto propose une alternative à la production massive de nouveaux véhicules en réutilisant et en améliorant ceux déjà en circulation, réduisant ainsi l'impact environnemental lié à la fabrication de voitures neuves. Après 3 ans de recherche et développement, de mise en place de partenariats industriels, ils sont prêts à lancer une usine de 3000 m² pour reconstruire 1500 véhicules la première année puis 3000 / an. C'est toute la question de la mobilité qui est repensée dans une perspective environnementale. Avec environ un milliard de véhicules en circulation dans le monde, le remplacement de tous ces véhicules par des modèles neufs n'est pas viable. C'est tout ce que Sébastien nous explique dans cet épisode. Après l'enregistrement, j'ai demandé à Sébastien, pourquoi Lormauto ? J'ai regretté de ne pas l'avoir enregistré, mais au moins je vous la raconte. Son grand-père à la sortie de la 2nde guerre mondiale a récupéré une vieille carcasse d'une Ford. Il en a changé le moteur et a réussi à la faire homologuer pour s'en servir comme son véhicule principal. El Renault Twingo, un coche que conozco muy bien, desaparece el próximo año… ¿no os da pena? Un modelo con el título honorífico del ser el coche más “simpático” de los 90. Y un coche que dió mucho que hablar, un parto muy difícil, en el que intervino el propio Gandini, pero inspirado en un modelo polaco… ¡Menudo lío! ¿Será por culpa de Shakira? Vamos a conocer su historia… Dejemos a un lado a Shakira, Piqué y Bizarrap. Mi buen amigo y asesor técnico me dijo que no nombrase a Shakira porque este asunto yo no estaba de actualidad… de actualidad no, ¡pero es historia! El concepto del Renault Twingo era una misión imposible. Porque sustituir el legendario R4 era misión imposible. Pero la verdad es que Renault lo hizo bien. ¿por qué? Porque no trato de hacer un R4 moderno, sino fue más lejos: Intentar buscar el secreto del éxito del R4. Ya en 1973 Renault comenzaba a buscar un sustituto a su VBG, o “voiture Bas de Gamme”, coche bajo de gama. Y encargó el proyecto al prestigioso diseñador Robert Opron, diseñador de bellezas tales como los Citroën SM o CX entre otros. Opron contó con la ayuda del diseñador de la casa, Gaston Juchet y en 1975 propusieron a la cúpula de la marca dos prototipos a escala 1:1… que no convencieron a nadie. Y les pidieron más propuestas. Se sumó a este intento de buscar un sustituto al R4 Jacques Nocher y se presentaron varios prototipos… que tampoco gustaron. ¿El resultado?: Proyecto suspendido… A principios de los 80 el R5 arrasaba y el R4 iba muy bien, a pesar de su veteranía… así que Renault se olvidó del “coche bajo de gama” … hasta que aparecieron los polacos de FSM que en 1983 presentó un prototipo muy particular: El Beskid 106, un modelo pequeño, atractivo y con ciertas trazas de ser un monovolumen “mínimo”. A Renault les gustó la idea y comenzaron a trabajar en un nuevo proyecto, en el que intervino el propio Gandini, el “Grandissimo Marcello” que comenzó a trabajar en el modelo en 1984. Tomaría el testigo de Gandini el diseñador Jean-Pierre Ploué, quien ya dibujo unas líneas muy parecidas al Twingo definitivo… Pero llegó la crisis y un nuevo carpetazo. Hasta que en 1987 llega a la presidencia de Renault Raymond Levy, que reflotó la marca, y que decide arrancar de nuevo el proyecto y se lo encarga a un diseñador muy conocido: Patrick Le Quément. Pero eso sí, le asignaron un presupuesto muy ajustado. Le Quément, que será polémico y extravagante, pero no tonto, partió del prototipo de Jean-Pierre Ploué, pero al que añadió uno de los rasgos más característicos del Twingo: Sus ojos… ¡digo sus faros!... de rana y su frontal que parece sonreír. Se hizo una encuesta entre clientes potenciales y el resultado fue que a una mayoría no les gustaba, pero que a una minoría les encantaba… Le Quément le escribió una nota que ya es famosa al “súper-jefe” Raymond Levy, que decía, entre otras cosas, la frase célebre de “El mayor riesgo es no correr ningún riesgo”. Se ve que tocó la fibra sensible del Sr. Levy, que en 1988 dio a luz al proyecto con la orden expresa de que el diseño de la carrocería no se tocaba. Ni el concepto de coche sencillo, por fuera, por dentro y bajo el capó. ¡Por fin! En 1992 se presenta en el Salón de París y se repite lo que sucedió en la encuesta: A muchas visitantes les parece increíble que Renault fuese a lanzar un coche así, pero a otros muchos les encanta. Cuando preguntabas a la gente que le parecía el Twingo, curiosamente, la mayor parte, incluso aquellos a quien no gustaba, respondían, “es un coche simpático”. Al final Le Quément y Levy acertaron, porque de la primera serie, que es la auténtica y de la única que vamos a hablar hoy, se fabricaron casi 3 millones de unidades en tres países diferentes: Francia, España y Colombia. El primer Twingo contaba con un motor 1.2 de 55 CV, el llamado en España “Tipo Sierra”, que llevaron incluso los R6 y R8 y muchos otros. Las ruedas iban en las esquinas, para mejorar la estabilidad, que era muy buena, y la habitabilidad. Por fuera destacaba el frontal, su forma casi de monovolumen a pesar de su reducida longitud de 3,4 m y sus colores muy llamativos. Por dentro un salpicadero colorista, unos asientos confortables que, como os he dicho, el posterior podía desplazarse hasta 17 cm adelante y atrás, con lo cual teníamos 4 buenas plazas y un maletero de 168 litros o dos plazas trasera menos buenas y un maletero de 261 litros. Con los cuatro asientos se podía conformar una cama de matrimonio… La segunda generación del Twingo fue posponiéndose y apareció en 2007. No es un mal coche, pero no tiene nada que ver, más grande, de 3,6 m. pero sin la magia y el simpático encanto del primero… no es fácil sustituir a un mito.

GERMANY'S PLUGIN EV SHARE UP TO 24.3% Germany, Europe's largest auto market, saw plugin electric vehicles take 24.3% share in April 2022, up from 22.1% YoY. Overall auto volume was down, by over 21% YoY, and over 40% compared to pre-pandemic seasonal norms. April's combined plugin result comprised 12.3% battery electrics (BEVs), and 12.0% plugin hybrids (PHEVs).  Combustion-only powertrains faired worst in terms of volume drop, with diesel sales down almost 30% YoY, and petrol down almost 28%. With current BEV market leader Tesla not having any large scheduled deliveries in April, other marques and models had a chance to shine, with the Fiat 500e coming out on top. The Mercedes EQB stepped up in registered volume by some 5× over the period, seeing a healthy 1,405 units over the February to April period, from 295 previously. The BMW i4 increased 2.7× to 755 units.
