Grimes is the Shinjo Ito Postdoctoral Fellow in Buddhist Studies, at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a scholar of South Asian Buddhism and Hinduism in the medieval and modern periods, with a specialization in the tantric traditions of Nepal, and with broader interest in historiography and ritual studies. Nepal is host to the only place in Asia with unbroken traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism existing side-by-side, and as a result the two religions there exhibit a high degree of exchange. A scholar must be expert in both to study either. Grimes works with the primary texts of these traditions directly, reading in Sanskrit, Newar, and Tibetan, frequently consulting sources that are only preserved in handwritten manuscripts.Dr. Grimes' research into yoga primarily involves an investigation of Vajrayāna, tantric Buddhism. This research ranges from purely textual studies of premodern texts to on-the-ground ritual training in Nepal. He is especially interested in the dynamic interactions between the visualized objects and somatic activity in ritual practice. Bom dia, meus irmãos, a paz seja convosco! Sejam muito bem-vindos a mais um Devocional Edificai. Eu sou o Samuel Márcio e hoje vamos falar sobre Paulo apresentando a sua Defesa, onde encontramos no livro de Atos capítulo 22, dos versículos 1 ao 21. É interessante notarmos nesta passagem, Paulo testemunhando toda sua vida e ao decorrer dos versículos ver que, o apóstolo conta separadamente cada etapa da sua história: · Quem era Saulo antes de ter encontro com Jesus – Dos versículos 1 ao 5, podemos ver Paulo se apresentando ao povo, informando de que era judeu, nascido em Tarso, criado em Jerusalém e discipulado por Gamaliel (um dos maiores doutores da lei e judeu respeitado naquela época), a qual foi ensinado de forma rigorosa sobre as leis e costumes judaicos. Porém, Saulo era alguém que estava cego por conta da religiosidade e a ignorância, o que desencadeou dentro de si, o desejo em perseguir “os seguidores do Caminho” (conforme informado nos versículos 4 e 5. É interessante notarmos que a palavra Caminho, está com C maiúsculo, nos mostrando que Paulo se referia a Cristo). Inclusive, em Atos 7, podemos ver que Paulo consentiu com a morte de Estevão. · Conversão: Saulo, perseguidor X Paulo, perseguido – Nos versículos 6 ao 14, Paulo relata sobre o seu encontro com Jesus, o ponto crucial na sua mudança de vida! Aqui podemos ver que por onde Cristo passa, há transformação de vidas, histórias e sonhos. O apóstolo comenta sobre a experiência que teve com o Senhor, no caminho a Damasco e a orientação que Jesus passou para Paulo. Que depois, Jesus falaria com Ananias, discípulo de Cristo, para que pudesse ir encontrar o apóstolo, a fim de orar, batizar, curar Paulo da cegueira (tanto física, quanto espiritual) e instruindo naquilo que o Senhor havia preparado para que o apóstolo vivesse. · Missão de Paulo – A partir do versículo 17 até ao 21, o apóstolo comenta sobre a visão que teve do Senhor, enquanto estava orando, referente ao propósito que Deus o havia separado para viver. Nos versículos 19 ao 20, Paulo tenta questionar o Senhor sobre aquilo que Ele estava o direcionando: “E eu respondi: ‘Senhor, sem dúvida eles sabem que em cada sinagoga eu prendia e açoitava aqueles que criam em ti. E quando Estêvão, tua testemunha, foi morto, eu estava inteiramente de acordo. Fiquei ali e guardei os mantos que eles tiraram quando foram apedrejá-lo'. “. Mas logo em seguida no versículo 21 o Senhor responde: “Mas o Senhor me disse: ‘Vá, pois eu o enviarei para longe, para os gentios'. “. Quando Deus nos dá a direção, o propósito ou a visão, devemos apenas confiar e seguir isso com todo o nosso coração, assim como apóstolo Paulo fez. Paulo, sem dúvidas, tem uma das histórias de conversão mais bonitas na bíblia, nos mostrando que Deus é especialista em mudar vidas e pessoas, segundo a Sua vontade! Que possamos tomar o exemplo desse apóstolo e permitir que o Senhor esteja na direção das nossas vidas todos os dias e que a nossa motivação seja viver aquilo que Deus deseja que vivamos! Que Deus abençoe seu dia, sua vida e a sua família, abraço!

Bom dia meus irmãos, a paz seja convosco! Sejam muito bem-vindos a mais um Devocional Edificai. Eu sou o Samuel Márcio e hoje vamos falar sobre a cura de um paralítico em Listra, onde encontramos no livro de Atos capítulo 14, dos versículos 8 ao 20. A respeito dessa passagem, gostaria de ressaltar alguns pontos muito interessantes, a fim de refletirmos e aprendermos algumas coisas valiosas: 1.º – Da mesma forma que a fé do paralítico atraiu a atenção de Paulo, assim nossa fé deve atrair a atenção de Deus. Nos versículos 8 ao 10 diz o seguinte: “Na cidade de Listra havia um homem que estava sempre sentado porque era aleijado dos pés. Ele havia nascido aleijado e nunca andara. Esse homem ouviu as palavras de Paulo, e Paulo viu que ele cria poder ser curado. Então olhou firmemente para ele e disse em voz alta: Levante-se e fique de pé! O homem pulou de pé e começou a andar. ”. Imagine só você passar a sua vida toda, com um problema que aos olhos humanos, é impossível de ser resolvido e ainda conviver com essa frustração de que nada poderá ser mudado. Mas podemos ver que através da pregação de Paulo, este homem recebeu e tomou posse daquilo que estava sendo pregado (as boas novas), encheu seu coração de fé, crendo que todo aquele sofrimento poderia acabar naquele momento e ali, ocorreu a manifestação da sua cura, através da sua fé que atraiu a atenção do apóstolo. Às vezes passamos por algumas situações que aos nossos olhos, é impossível de ser resolvido, mas assim como este homem, possamos tomar o exemplo e crer que existe um Deus que para Ele, nada é impossível e a nossa vida e Fé, deve ser movido nesta verdade, creia que o Senhor é muito maior que qualquer problema ou dificuldade que você esteja passando, a fim de atrair a atenção de Cristo para que Ele intervenha em nosso favor! 2.º - Paulo e Barnabé não deixaram se corromper pela “fama” através da pregação e a manifestação das curas e milagres realizados por eles. Nos versículos 11 ao 13, vemos que o povo fica tão maravilhado com a cura do homem paralítico de nascença e começavam a imaginar que Paulo e Barnabé eram deuses que haviam descido para visita-los. Podemos ver que o povo desejava entregar sacrifícios para eles, mas o maior desejo de Paulo e Barnabé, era de compartilhar o evangelho para os moradores de Listra, como podemos ver nos versículos 14 e 15 que diz o seguinte: “Quando os dois apóstolos souberam disso, rasgaram as suas roupas, correram para o meio da multidão e gritaram: Amigos, por que vocês estão fazendo isso? Nós somos apenas seres humanos, como vocês. Estamos aqui anunciando o evangelho a vocês para abandonarem essas coisas que não servem para nada. Convertam-se ao Deus vivo, que fez o céu, à terra, o mar e tudo o que existe neles. “. Paulo e Barnabé poderiam muito bem aproveitar o momento ali, para se engrandecerem pelo que estavam fazendo, mas podemos ver que para eles, o Senhor é quem devia ser engradecido e reconhecido, pois era através d'Ele que os milagres aconteciam. Que em nossos corações, possa crescer o sentimento de que é o Senhor quem deve ser exaltado, acima de tudo o que fazemos ou falamos, Ele é o centro e tudo é d'Ele, por Ele e para Ele!

Das hat Samuel leider erst so spät erfahren, als das Kind schon in den Brunnen gefallen war. Aus dem Grund hat Samuel - der ursprünglich aus der Bildung kommt - darüber nachgedacht, ob man bei der Partnergewinnung nicht bestimmte Lern- und Denktypen berücksichtigen sollte. Damit man sie so ansprechen und mit Infos versorgen kann, dass sie weder abgeschreckt werden, noch das Interesse verlieren. In dieser Episode gibt uns Samuel Müller einen tieferen Einblick, welche Schlüsse einsnulleins daraus gezogen hat.

Eu sou o Samuel Márcio e hoje vamos falar sobre a Igreja em oração, onde encontramos no livro de Atos capítulo 4, dos versículos 23 ao 31, que diz o seguinte: “Assim que foram libertos, Pedro e João voltaram ao lugar onde estavam os outros irmãos e lhes contaram o que os principais sacerdotes e líderes disseram. Ao ouvir o relato, todos os presentes levantaram juntos a voz e oraram a Deus: "Ó! Soberano Senhor, Criador dos céus e da terra, do mar e de tudo que neles há, falaste muito tempo atrás pelo Espírito Santo, nas palavras de nosso antepassado Davi, teu servo: ‘Por que as nações se enfureceram tanto? Por que perderam tempo com planos inúteis? Os reis da terra se prepararam para guerrear; os governantes se uniram contra o Senhor e contra seu Cristo'. De fato, isso aconteceu aqui, nesta cidade, pois Herodes Antipas, o governador Pôncio Pilatos, os gentios e o povo de Israel se uniram contra Jesus, teu santo Servo, a quem ungiste. Tudo que fizeram, porém, havia sido decidido de antemão pela tua vontade. E agora, Senhor, ouve as ameaças deles e concede a teus servos, coragem para anunciar tua palavra. Estende tua mão com poder para curar, e que sinais e maravilhas sejam realizados por meio do nome de teu santo Servo Jesus". Depois dessa oração, o lugar onde estavam reunidos tremeu, e todos ficaram cheios do Espírito Santo e pregavam corajosamente a palavra de Deus.”. É maravilhoso notarmos como a Igreja primitiva se movia nos momentos difíceis em que passavam, trazendo o exemplo de como devemos nos tornar! Gostaria de ressaltar alguns pontos interessantes que podemos notar ao ler esses versículos: • Podemos ver a importância da comunhão sendo exercitada no momento da adversidade — No versículo 23, podemos ver que Pedro e João retornam para onde estavam os outros irmãos, para poder relatar tudo o que havia acontecido com eles e é incrível vermos como a igreja os abraçou, acolheu e orou por eles logo após do ocorrido. Precisamos de Deus sim, mas somos humanos e precisamos uns dos outros ao longo de nossa caminhada! Entender nosso papel como corpo e que somos família, cujo objetivo é o mesmo: fazermos a vontade do Pai aqui na terra, anunciando sobre Cristo para todos. • Orar mais, murmurar menos — Notamos aqui uma poderosa chave que mostra como a igreja conseguia suportar a tantas adversidades e lutas: vida diária de busca e oração! Logo no capítulo 2, vemos que a igreja perseverava de coração ao ensino dos apóstolos, à comunhão (como citado acima), ao partir do pão e à *ORAÇÃO*. Não adianta nada querermos que o Senhor venha intervir a nosso favor em meio as aflições se nem nos momentos bons temos tempo para O buscar em oração. • Amor pela pelas coisas do alto — No último versículo, é relatado que o lugar onde estavam orando começou a tremer e todos foram cheios do Espírito Santo e logo após, foram pregar a palavra do Senhor corajosamente. O amor por Jesus e as coisas do alto, era maior que os medos e as inseguranças que pudessem sentir ou de todas as adversidades que poderiam passar, pois, sabiam que o Senhor estava com eles! Infelizmente, paramos de fazer a vontade de Deus por tão pouca coisa... Que possamos desenvolver em nossos corações um amor e temor por Cristo e pelas coisas do alto, a ponto de que nada mais importe a não ser viver diante da presença de Deus em qualquer circunstância! Meus irmãos, que possamos guardar estes ensinamentos em nossos corações, para nos aprimorarmos e nos aperfeiçoarmos como igreja de Cristo, tendo como exemplo estes homens e mulheres que realmente entregaram sua vida, para viverem naquilo que o Senhor os direcionava a viver, tendo um amor profundo pela presença de Deus e a sua Palavra! Que Deus abençoe seu dia, sua vida e a sua família, um abraço!

Bom dia! Meus irmãos, a paz seja convosco! Hoje é dia, 24 de maio de 2022, sejam muito bem-vindos a mais um Devocional Edificai. Eu sou o Samuel Márcio e hoje vamos falar sobre a última mensagem de Jesus a multidão, onde encontramos no livro de João capítulo 12, dos versículos 44 ao 50, que diz o seguinte: “Então Jesus disse em alta voz: “Quem crê em mim, não crê apenas em mim, mas naquele que me enviou. Quem me vê, vê aquele que me enviou. Eu vim ao mundo como luz, para que todo aquele que crê em mim não permaneça nas trevas. Se alguém ouve as minhas palavras, e não as guarda, eu não o julgo. Pois, não vim para julgar o mundo, mas para salvá-lo. Há um juiz para quem me rejeita e não aceita as minhas palavras; a própria palavra que proferi o condenará no último dia. Pois, não falei por mim mesmo, mas o Pai que me enviou me ordenou o que dizer e o que falar. Sei que o seu mandamento é a vida eterna. Portanto, o que eu digo é exatamente o que o Pai me mandou dizer". Gostaria de trazer 3 pontos para refletirmos sobre estes versículos e sobre o que Jesus fala a multidão: 1) Vemos aqui Jesus testificando mais uma vez sobre o plano de Salvação, que Deus estabeleceu com a vinda de seu Filho à terra, mostrando que o evangelho é o anúncio das boas novas de salvação e que acima de tudo, nos garante uma vida eterna com Deus (V. 50 — Cap. 3: 16–17), mas com a condição de que devemos crer em quem o Pai enviou para nos salvar e nos dar exemplo mediante a sua Palavra: Cristo! 2) Também podemos notar Jesus anunciando que Ele é o caminho em que devemos seguir que nos levará a estarmos perto de Deus (V. 44–45 – Cap. 14:6). Cristo nos mostra que a mensagem que traz a nós, não vem dele, mas sim do próprio coração de Deus, testemunhando que Ele e o Pai são um, assim como podemos ver João relatando logo no primeiro capítulo de seu evangelho. 3) A obediência de Cristo, mostrando e falando em todo momento de que tudo que Ele fazia, não era para se engrandecer ou se vangloriar, mas sim de testificar a vontade do Pai para todos nós! E como recompensa dessa obediência, e obediência até a morte de cruz, vemos Deus exaltar o seu Filho dando o nome acima de todos os nomes (Filipenses 2: 5 – 11). Irmãos, que possamos guardar em nossos corações essa palavra que chegou até nós, que nos permitiu conhecer a Jesus, aceitá-lo, segui-lo e estar próximos de Deus, lembrando sempre que o Evangelho são boas novas de salvação e vida eterna com o Pai, mas também de renúncia das nossas próprias vontades para viver aquilo que o Senhor tem preparado para cada um de nós, tomando o exemplo de Cristo que renunciou as suas próprias vontades para fazer a vontade do Pai! Que Deus abençoe sua vida, sua família e o resto da sua semana, um abraço!

Hoje é dia, 4 de maio de 2022, sejam muito bem-vindos a mais um Devocional Edificai. Eu sou o Samuel Márcio e hoje vamos falar sobre a Incredulidade dos irmãos de Jesus, onde encontramos no livro de João capítulo 7, dos versículos 1 ao 13. Fazendo a leitura destes versículos e refletindo sobre algumas questões, gostaria de listar aqui 3 coisas das quais, podemos notar e trazer algumas reflexões: 1.º Os próprios irmãos de Jesus, mesmo testemunhando o que Ele estava realizando, não criam nele (V 5.). Imagina só se você tivesse a oportunidade de ter Jesus como seu irmão, qual seria a sua reação? Será que agiria do mesmo jeito que os irmãos d'Ele ou agiria de uma forma completamente diferente? Acredito que você tenha pensado que seria incrível essa experiência e tomaria atitudes totalmente diferentes..., porém, mesmo não querendo acreditar, em certas circunstâncias que passamos, acabamos agindo como os irmãos de Jesus, limitando e não acreditando no que Jesus consegue fazer, não só por palavras, mas pelas nossas atitudes que tomamos. Nesses momentos em que nossa fé é provada, deixamos que o nosso ego fale mais alto, que a soberania e o poderio de Cristo, querendo por Jesus a prova, só esquecemos que Ele age do jeito e na hora que Ele quer! Irmãos, que agora em diante, possamos realmente exercer a nossa fé, amor e confiança em Jesus, não só por palavras, mas através das nossas atitudes também! 2.º O tempo de Deus é totalmente diferente do nosso tempo! Nos versículos 3 e 4, observamos os irmãos de Cristo, quererem o apressar para Ele poder se revelar por completo (sendo que, podemos notar o real motivo de seus irmãos quererem apressar: o colocar a prova de que era realmente o Messias), mas a resposta de Cristo veio na medida certa, mostrando haver sido um tempo preparado por Deus, para ele poder se revelar no tempo correto. Muitas das vezes, queremos que Deus venha agir no nosso tempo, mas esquecemos que Ele é o Senhor de tudo, principalmente, das nossas vidas e que Ele não tarda, nem muito menos falha, Ele age na hora certa, só devemos confiar nessa verdade! 3.º Jesus mostrando ser obediente ao Pai, nos dando o exemplo a ser seguido. Nos versículos 7 e 8, vemos que Jesus é colocado a prova para se revelar (já vimos que o próprio inimigo o tentou no deserto), mas Ele mostra a sua obediência ao Pai, quando mostra que ainda não era o tempo de se revelar. O próprio Cristo que já vinha testificando a obra de Deus para as pessoas, não deixou que as pessoas, circunstâncias, viessem tirar o seu foco em obedecer a Deus (Filipenses 2: 5 – 11), e nós em vez de tomarmos isso como exemplo, fazemos totalmente ao contrário, ignorando as ordens do Pai e acabamos agindo por conta própria. Meus queridos, obedecer é melhor que sacrificar, Cristo obedeceu e o resultado disso, é nós termos vida! Que venhamos tomar esses exemplos diariamente, até que Ele venha! Que Deus abençoe sua vida, sua família e o resto da sua semana! Um abraço,
