Dude, it's EXACTLY what you think it is! SHARK MONTH!
This week, our co-host Casey (aka Loathing) is on vacation. So Steph (Cheer) is joined by special guest Jamie Marino for a wild discussion about the surprise hit COCAINE BEAR and the surprisingly unhinged COCAINE SHARK. COCAINE BEAR promises hilarious hijinks and a ridiculous romp filled with gore, humor, and a berzerker bear. Does it deliver? COCAINE SHARK is an upcoming Syfy-esque shark movie hoping to cash in on the coked-out killer animal craze. It truly is absolute insanity. But is that a good thing or a bad thing? Tune in to hear us talk about expectations vs. reality, when cuddly bears attack, Jamie's obsession with Shark Exorcist, the problem with too much plot, special effects that aren't so special, when bad is good and good is meh, and so much more. It's possible this is when the podcast finally jumps the shark, but you're going to have to listen to find out for yourself! If you enjoy the show, PLEASE consider leaving a five-star review on Spotify. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/cheerandloathing/message
In Shark Exorcist, an evil nun enables a shark to be possessed by the devil. This movie is a wild ride and was definitely a divisive one for us. 'The Childishness of Adults'Season One - Episode FiveIn this super hi-tech service, we welcome the 'Elon Musk of Creepy Cove', Conal Cochrane of Silver Shamrock Novelties in town. He's trialing an amazing new technology that affects YOU. So be sure to listen in (though you might need to guard your ears!) We also have an update regarding our recent Shark Exorcism, with news of Father Michael and his cruciform dinghy. Freda Krueger provides our Bible reading this evening, though she should really keep her glove in check. Peter then joins us to talk about 'The Childishness of Adults'. For adults can indeed, when you think about it, be rather immature. Note, Peter strongly puts himself in that category too. Following this sermon we go experimental when Gilderoy from The Berberian Sound Studio in town, joins us. He 'treats' us to some anaolgue electronic soundscapes from his heady days with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. The perfect accompaniment to a time of prayer and meditation. It's pretty internal, this one. You'll know what we mean when you hear it. Finally, our church band lead us in a rousing rendition of 'Leaning on the Everlasting Arms'. But have no fear, friends...for there is always hope. With that in mind, this week we have to face the new phase that the Glick family have entered (it's not so bad, Marjorie. Honest!). Next we discuss the recent Shark attacks that have rocked our town - apologies to Mrs Kitner, if she found this service traumatic.

Shark Exorcist | The Shallows – Hey everyone! Welcome to another special (and late) Shark Week episode of Motion Picture Meltdown!
We let the cat out of the bag last year when we eluded to actually respecting the duds that we covered, for April Fool’s Day. This year we wont seek to fool you but it is quite clear that we didn’t learn that the joke is actually on us for sitting through these. Will this be the last time we do this to ourselves for AFD? Most likely- but this episode is still worth a listen as we cover 4 ridiculous films (Halloweed, Bad Milo, Return of the Killer Tomatoes and Shark Exorcist), accompanied with quite a few laughs and some surprising support at times. Available on iTunes, podbean, mixcloud and our blog. We hope you find enjoyment in the show (hopefully more than we did watching these films)!
Not sure what you would expect from a film called "Shark Exorcist" but just know that you're way wrong. Side note: Tennessee seems like a nice place... (39:33)Listen here!

We return after weeks of Holidays and technical issues to bring you Shark Exorcist, which sadly, does not feature a shark conducting exorcisms.
