Grief brings anxiety and depression issues for everyone. But what about people already dealing with mental illness? My anxiety reached levels I didn't know existed after losing Jim. My brain responds differently than someone who never had anxiety to begin with. Today's extremely special guest on The Be Ruthless Show, Kristina Bottenberg, also struggled with anxiety and depression before her losses. Today, she shares the impact grief has had in her life, as well how she's coping through the healing. This Faces of Grief Author shares a bit about her chapter, Unconditional Love, and why sharing her story is so important. Kristina was born November of 1973, in Monterey California, moving just a few short months after her birth to Germany. Being that her father was in the army, they lived on the base there. Being an Army brat, Kristina was accustomed to moving often. They spent a few years there before moving back to the U.S and finally settling in Washington state. Growing up Kristina endured a lot of dysfunction and trauma. She persevered and throughout her early adult years had 3 beautiful, accomplished girls, one is now her guardian angel, her brightest star in the sky. Kristina is, in fact, a grieving mother. She met her second husband Dave in 2013 and in 2014 they were married and so in love. Kristina is, in fact, a grieving widow. She has 2 beautiful grandchildren from her angel Kenzie, and many bonus grandchildren through her late husband. She works full time in Skagit county, enjoys her work and her 3 cats, hiking, kayaking, fishing, camping with family and friends. Kristina is taking this time to evaluate what's important; you could lose those people that mean so much to you in the blink of an eye. And finally, Kristina is trying to learn to love herself. Life can change in ways that are so devastating, but Kristina knows there must still be beauty in living, that's why Ishe hasn't given up - though there are times she wants to. Even though she always will live with the grief and loss, because that will never go away, Kristina has hope it will coincide with joy. Kathryn was raised Catholic, but she only attended church on Easter Sunday.  Her Dad was raised in the Catholic church, went to Catholic school and was an altar boy.  She doesn't know the reasoning, but when he was raising them, religion wasn't important, and he seemed even be turned off by it.  One reason may be because Kathryn's grandmother (his mom) would go to mass in the morning and be drunk by 2:00pm.  As a child, If she would sleep over at a friend's house on a Saturday night, she would go to church with them on Sunday. Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist and she remembers a place called "Rock Church" where they danced and spoke in tongues! Nothing stuck.  In her early 20's, she was wild. Partying all the time and after one extremely crazy night, decided she no longer wanted to live life that way.  So, Kathryn hit her knees and prayed to God for help.  Now, she may not have been raised in church. But she can tell you as sure as she typed this, God has been with her as far back as she can remember.  She would talk to him all the time.  He would answer.  It wasn't audible, but she could always hear him.  She can remember at 5 years old, as her Mom and Dad were in a drunken screaming fight, Ishe was crouched in a little bathroom of our military housing home.  She got on her knees, and cried out to God.  "Please, please take me back.  You've made a big mistake. You've put me in the wrong family."  Well, he didn't take her back. But things would get better for a while, before getting worse again. A few years later, she met Jon. He was Jewish. They bonded over their spiritual beliefs. She got married in a Japanese garden with a non-denominational pastor and she smashed the glass (Jewish tradition). They had children, and she did get them baptized. She knew this was important somehow but didn't really know why.  They moved to Florida and her Jewish husband became a follower of Jesus (that's a whole other fascinating story of how that happened). But, as he started learning about the teachings of Jesus, he would share with them.  They started going to a local church.  Then started having family meetings. The foundation was laid.  Enter "THE CHOSEN". The miniseries produced by Derral Eves and Dallas Jenkins. For the first time in Kathryn's whole life, it all makes sense! Pieces of the puzzle are fitting. The stories, the disciples, the places. It's like all the sudden, she sees in technicolor!!! When I found out she was interviewing Derral Eves, the Executive Producer of "The Chosen", she was so excited.  He did not disappoint.  Kathryn doesn't know where you are in your spiritual walk, but she knows this interview will have something in it for you.  No matter what your faith or background.  Oh and P.S... This episode kicks off Jon and Kathryn doing podcasts interviews together. They will still have guests they interview separately, but anytime they think when they have a guest or message both their audiences will enjoy, they will do a collab!

Japan's Top Business Interviews Podcast By Dale Carnegie Training Tokyo, Japan

After graduating from Keio University, Saori Kanno originally joined Revlon as a Marketing Director, before becoming the current General Manager of Revlon Japan. In between, Ms. Kanno has worked in several other cosmetic companies, making her an expert in the beauty industry.   While still in her mid-30s, Ms. Kanno was scouted to become the Marketing Director at a prestigious French cosmetics company. Becoming a manager at a young age, she recalls needing to look professional as she was managing some staff who were older and more experienced. As a new manager, Ms. Kanno ensured she maintained close communication with each of her staff to earn their trust. She was careful in listening to the team and having open discussions. She would ask questions like, what is new? What is happening in the world, in the market, what should we do? By having such casual conversations on an individual and group basis, Ms. Kanno gained valuable insight from the team and built a transparent culture. At the same time, Ms. Kanno is firm that the objective of any meeting or brainstorming session is to decision-making and coming up with deadline-driven action items. iShe says: “the ultimate objective of this kind of discussion is that we win…we break our current status within our team…[as well as] win in the market versus our competitors.”   Ms. Kanno was also interested in working in the mass-marketing beauty industry, and thus joined a commercial cosmetics brand as the Marketing Director after the French company. Ms. Kanno says she used more or less the same techniques to build trust and communicate with her staff in her new company, as she says: “human relationship starts from the heart.” Ms. Kanno also became eventually took on the dual role of Sales/Marketing Director. She found it extremely useful to listen to the marketing and sales team simultaneously to come up with strategies that reflected both fields' input.   Ms. Kanno returned to Revlon as the General Manager. This time, Ms. Kanno was determined to take the lead in addition to listening closely to her team. She had many creative ideas ready to be implemented. To convince headquarters, Ms. Kanno used her expert knowledge in the beauty industry and analysis of previous initiatives. She explains: “the Japanese beauty market is very different from the others because many of women, even my age, are still looking for kawaii or lovely, which is not the case for Revlon, but in order to be successful in a local market, we really need to understand the consumers.” Ms. Kanno quickly changed various things such as the way the product was promoted and recreated the visuals to suit local consumers. Sales immediately improved, breaking records from the last 50 years of the company. Ms. Kanno explains that her passion for cosmetics as a consumer also helped her be confident in her strategy to dramatically transform Revlon Japan.   On leading an engaged team, Ms. Kanno points out that giving praise and appreciation is crucial. When she hears her team come up with ideas, Ms. Kanno always congratulates them. On handling mistakes, Ms. Kanno encourages her team to consider improving the process to avoid the mistake from happening again. Moreover, on certain initiatives that do not work out, Ms. Kanno will review and analyze to try to learn from its failure. Ms. Kanno also holds executive committee meetings amongst the division head where they share information so everybody is aware of what is happening in the company. Ms. Kanno values ideas that come from the ground up, and thus, encourages her division heads to bring new ideas to her.   On advice to new foreign leaders in Japan, Ms. Kanno emphasizes the importance of listening to the local Japanese team to build trust. Secondly, when asking for people's opinions, Ms. Kanno recommends giving some space instead of constantly asking questions. By building rapport through daily communication, and speaking in a calm tone, Ms. Kanno has seen Japanese employees relax and open up to foreign bosses. Ms. Kanno defines leadership as similar to motherhood. She explains: “In my team, I want to make everybody happy and successful…my mission is giving love and passion to the team [like a mother would].”

She followed her passion for food and it brought her to an amazing opportunity, which then led her to founding her own company! With  the  arrival  of  her  daughter  in  2018,  she knew  she wouldn't  have  as  much  time  to  cook.  But  she didn't  want  her  family  to  subsist  solely  on  takeout.  She needed  something  around  the  house  that  was  tasty,  nutritious,  &  ready  at  a  moment's  notice.  She settled  on  frozen  mini-waffles:  a  crowd-pleaser  that  wouldn't  spoil  &  would  be  satisfying  as  breakfast  or  a snack. Chapter 67 Butwhom shall I ask? There is no one here."The idea of finding himself in solonesome a spot made himso sad that he was about to cry, but just then he saw abigFish swimming near-by, with his head far out of the water. Notknowing what to call him, the Marionette said to him: "Heythere, Mr. Fish, may I have a word with you?""Even two, if youwant," answered the fish, who happened to be a very polite Dolphin. "Willyou please tell me if, on this island, there areplaces where one may eatwithout necessarily being eaten?""Surely, there are," answeredthe Dolphin. "In factyou'll find one not far from thisspot.""And how shall I get there?""Take that path on yourleft and follow your nose. Youcan't go wrong.""Tell me another thing. You who travel day and nightthrough the sea, did you not perhaps meet a littleboat withmy father in it?""And who is you father?""He isthe best father in the world, even as I am theworst son that can befound.""In the storm of last night," answered the Dolphin,"thelittle boat must have been swamped.""And myfather?""By this time, he must have been swallowed by theTerrible Shark, which, for the last few days, has beenbringing terror to thesewaters.""Is this Shark very big?" asked Pinocchio, whowasbeginning to tremble with fright. "Ishe big?" replied the Dolphin. "Just to give you an ideaof his size, let me tell you that he is larger than a fivestory building and that he has amouth so big and so deep, that a whole train and engine could easily get intoit.""Mother mine!" cried the Marionette, scared todeath;and dressing5 himself as fast as hecould, he turned to theDolphin and said: "Farewell,Mr. Fish. Pardon the bother, and many thanksfor your kindness."This said,he took the path at so swift a gait that heseemed to fly, and at every smallsound he heard,he turned in fear to see whether the Terrible Shark, five storieshigh and with a train in his mouth, was following him. 5 dressing n.(食物)调料;包扎伤口的用品,敷料参考例句:· Don't spend such a lot of time in dressing yourself.别花那么多时间来打扮自己。· The children enjoy dressing up in mother's old clothes.孩子们喜欢穿上妈妈旧时的衣服玩。

Dovetales is excited to have author Rebecca J. Wetzler on our program, because through the years moment by moment, day by day, faith in Christ has been her foundation for challenging and purposefully overcoming life-long struggles with loneliness, self-esteem, depression, and chronic pain from migraines and a permanently injured neck.As her life has progressed, Ishe has realized that her faith has given her a steady spiritual regrounding in order to weather the drama of real life when facing yet another trial, resulting in her sharing the spiritual truths with others so they may also follow God's light past the world's darkness.  She writes to encourage others that the Bible is completely applicable to our lives today, and as the readers purposefully pursues the Lord's communication in God's Word and with prayer, they will find His answers and blessings that the darkness can no longer hide.   In celebration of making double digits (episode 10!), we have an extended episode this week.   We started with a discussion of the rules of our different writing genres.    Kate started us off, discussing the rules of Sci-Fi and Fantasy, but we side-tracked into world building, Sweet Valley High, Sookie Stackhouse, Game of Thrones, before recovering to get back to the rules. Máire in typical fashion disagreed with all the established rules of comedy and invented her own, the fundamental one being NO KICKING DOWN! She is very clear on that! Cathy wrapped up this section with a rules of detective fiction.   This discussion was followed with a writing update and semi-writing-breakdown as Cathy shared her recent (horrible) revelation that her novel is not improving as Ishe goes through the structural edits and still will not fit comfortably in any established genre. This section is probably closer to group therapy than writing updates.   Presented and produced by Cathy Clarke, Kate Mulholland and Máire Brophy. Music by Gavin Mulhall

ishe + hezekiah are an experimental soulful duo composed of singer/songwriter ishe' from san diego and producer/emcee/songwriter hezekiah from philadelphia. Two unique artists with an unspoken understanding of music provided the perfect ingredients. a mixture of organic classic soul, a slight touch of electronic flourishes; a beautifully-composed sonic stew with a traditional hip hop edge. timeless. for their debut album. her hypnotic & sweet dreamy vocals over his head-knoddin' beats spawn something organic and ultra melodic. together their sound is raw and intimate pretty and gritty unorthodox and out the box with subject matter that covers the spectrum, ranging from social issues, love, drugs, depression, make ups and break ups. This project is something ishe + hezekiah are both proud of.
