Élu avec 62% des voix dimanche 19 octobre à la présidence de la République turque de Chypre-Nord (RTCN), Tufan Erhürman a largement battu le président sortant soutenu par la Turquie. Juriste de formation, le nouveau dirigeant chypriote turc souhaite relancer les négociations avec le Sud et résoudre un conflit enlisé depuis plus de 50 ans. Les sondages laissaient présager une victoire, mais pas de cette ampleur. Avec 62,7% des voix contre 35,8% à son adversaire, le candidat du Parti turc républicain (centre-gauche) a infligé une cuisante défaite à Ersin Tatar, le président sortant. Âgé de 55 ans, Tufan Erhürman n'avait que trois ans quand la Turquie a lancé l'opération Attila, le 20 juillet 1974, provoquant la partition de l'île. Or, en battant largement le candidat soutenu par la Turquie de Recep Tayyip Erdogan, il relance l'espoir d'une solution négociée et d'une réunification des deux Chypre… « Il a fait ses études dans une université très réputée en Turquie et il est très respecté dans les milieux académiques et juridiques, rappelle Sertaç Sonan, professeur de sciences politiques à l'Université internationale de Chypre. Durant la campagne électorale, il a su rassembler sans polariser les opinions. Sa campagne était très sérieuse, très disciplinée. Avec un message clair : "Nous promettons la respectabilité, l'égalité, la méritocratie". Et ils ont l'impression que cette politique isolationniste, alignée à 100% sur la Turquie, allait éloigner encore plus les Chypriotes turcs d'une perspective de dialogue international. » Les facteurs internes ont également joué un rôle dans la défaite du président sortant, ajoute la journaliste chypriote Rally Papageorgiou. « Les électeurs en ont eu assez de la corruption, et de la mainmise de la Turquie sur l'économie. La question du voile pour les lycéennes a pesé également… Car la société chypriote turque est attachée à la laïcité et s'inquiète de l'orientation prise par la Turquie sur cette question. Ce qui a aidé enfin Tufan Erhürman c'est la très forte présence des responsables turcs, durant la campagne, auprès de son adversaire : les Turcs chypriotes n'ont pas envie d'être étouffés par la Turquie ! » À écouter aussiChypre Nord : 50 ans après les espoirs vains d'une réunification Une « période de grâce » d'un an Le nouveau président de la RTCN s'est donc affirmé comme un partisan d'une reprise des négociations et d'une solution « fédérative » pour réconcilier les deux Chypre. Mais cette volonté pourra-t-elle aboutir ? Depuis 1974 et l'intervention militaire de la Turquie, de nombreuses tentatives ont lamentablement échoué… et le conflit s'est enlisé sans qu'aucune perspective de solution ne puisse être envisagée. Tufan Erhürman devra composer avec les Chypriotes grecs, qui ont rejeté au début des années 2000, par référendum, un premier projet de fédération. Il lui faudra également convaincre la Turquie, parrain aussi indispensable qu'incontournable. Or, sur ce point, la position inflexible de Recep Tayyip Erdogan pourrait évoluer – c'est du moins l'analyse du politologue Sertaç Sonan. « N'oublions pas que la Turquie était favorable, de 2002 à 2017, aux négociations et à l'idée d'une fédération. Mais tout a changé en 2017, quand les derniers pourparlers ont échoué, en Suisse. Cela s'est produit après la tentative de coup d'État contre Erdogan : il s'est senti lâché par les pays occidentaux et il a adopté une politique étrangère plus agressive. Ensuite, au fil du temps, il a voulu améliorer ses relations avec ses partenaires dans la région et aussi avec les pays occidentaux. Il a rétabli ses relations avec l'Arabie saoudite, les Émirats arabes unis et l'Égypte. Il entretient de meilleures relations avec la Grèce. Je pense donc que Chypre est la seule pièce manquante dans ce tableau. » Signe, peut-être, que le dirigeant turc n'est pas totalement fermé à l'idée d'une reprise du dialogue, sa réaction plutôt positive à la victoire de Tufan Erhürman. Le président turc a félicité le nouveau dirigeant, disant « espérer que ces élections seront bénéfiques pour nos pays et pour nos régions ». De son côté, Tufan Erhürman s'est voulu rassurant à l'égard de la Turquie, et ses premières déclarations en témoignent : « J'exercerai mes responsabilités, notamment en matière de politique étrangère, en concertation avec la Turquie. » Des discussions informelles entre les deux Chypre devraient être organisées sous l'égide de l'ONU d'ici à la fin de l'année. « L'élection de Tufan Erhürman précède la présidence chypriote de l'UE qui doit débuter le 1er janvier, note avec une pointe d'optimisme le chercheur Mete Hatay. Suriye ve Gazze'de her iki halkın zaferiyle sonuçlanan gelişmeler yaşanırken Afrika'nın gözbebeği Sudan'da da 21 aydır devam etmekte olan bir başka işgal girişimine karşı çok önemli gelişmeler kaydedildi. 21 ay kadar önce İsrail'in de büyük planları doğrultusunda bazı körfez ülkeleri tarafından desteklenen Hemeti komutasındaki Hızlı Destek Kuvvetleri (HTK) başta başkent Hartum olmak üzere Sudan'ın önemli kısımlarında bir darbe yoluyla kontrolü sağlamıştı. Tabii sağlanan kontrol bir kontrolden ziyade bir istila, bir talan ve yağma hareketinden başkası değildi. Zira HTK'nin oluşumu bile zaten Darfur'daki olaylarla bağlantılı olarak Ömer el-Beşir'in kendine bağlı birlikler oluşturma düşüncesinden hareket etmişti.

15 Ocak günü de, 7 Ekim'den sonra, Allah'ın günlerinden büyük bir gururla, güvenle, imanla zikredeceğimiz günlerinden biri olarak kayda geçti. 7 Ekim'de başlayan Aksa Tufanının artçı dalgaları geçtiğimiz ayın başlarında 8 Aralık'ta Suriye'de 61 yıldır beklenen muhteşem devrimin önünü açtı. Buradan hareketlenen dünyanın deveranı dönüp Gazze'de 466 gün dünyanın en güçlü ordularına karşı çok az bir maddi güçle ama büyük bir kararlılıkla, imanla, sebatla devam eden direnişi zafere ulaştırdı.

Aksa Tufanı üzerinden bugün itibariyle bir yıl geçmiş oldu. Elbette İsrail'in zalim bombardımanı altında bu bir yıl içinde Günyüzü görmeyen Gazze halkı açısından çok daha uzun hissedilmiş bir yıl bu. Ama soykırımcı mücrim İsrail ve avanaleri açısından da çok kolay geçmiş olduğunu söyleyemeyeceğimiz bir yıl olmuştur. Bir yıl, ikiyüzyıldır insanlığa anlattıkları bütün hikayelerin ifşa olduğu, maskelerinin düştüğü o hümanist, ileri, modern, demokratik düzenlerinin altındaki kanların, cinayetlerin, ırkçılığın, sömürünün çırılçıplak meydana serildiği bir yıl oldu. Ama daha önemlisi bütün dünyayı esir almışken bir avuç Gazze'yi teslim alamamanın yaşattığı hüsran o bir yılın her saniyesini Gazzelilerin yaşadıklarından daha uzun bir zaman olarak hissettirdi.
